I live in the beautiful community of Credit Woodlands in Mississauga, and lately, I've become increasingly frustrated by the number of local drivers who fail to come to a complete stop at stop signs throughout the area.
The problem is drivers rolling straight through stop signs as though they don't exist. This creates an unnecessary safety concern for pedestrians, cyclists, children, and other motorists.
I've contacted our city councilor and was advised that road studies would be conducted. I've also reported the issue to police, yet I have not seen a noticeable police presence or enforcement in the area.
At what point do we move beyond studies and discussions and start seeing meaningful action?
We pay municipal taxes, and it's reasonable to expect traffic laws to be enforced and legitimate neighborhood safety concerns to be addressed. I'm not asking for anything unreasonable. I'm asking for drivers to obey the rules of the road and for the appropriate authorities to take this issue seriously.
Credit Woodlands is a beautiful neighborhood, and I would like to see it remain a safe place for everyone who lives, walks, and drives here.
Are other residents noticing the same problem? I'd be interested to hear your experiences and whether you've raised similar concerns with the city or Peel Regional Police.
Hopefully, if more residents speak up, we can get some meaningful action on this issue.
