In the Moore and Gaiman work, MM was a unique book with its own singular universe. In a Marvel universe (or even if it had been DC) I dont get what the selling point is. Its not like theres a shortage of strong, invulnerable male characters.

It would be funny if his selling point becomes destroying every continuity he appears in. That, as a character, he becomes the apex of every single universe he appears in.

It’s gross. Worse than jamming watchmen into dc.

That's a perfect parallel, DC and Marvel both get to metabolize invulnerable godlike reality warper IP harvested from the works of Alan Moore

It makes me worry that there won't be more MM series with Mike Moran (my dream was a Deniz Camp run but given that he went to DC it'll never happen).

Marvel saw what DC did with Watchmen and the Wildstorm Universe and said "hold my beer" despite neither move making any kind of sense. It may be someone has a great MM story to tell (Ram V? Deniz Camp?) and I may be proved wrong, but DC's examples suggest they are just trying to milk IPs they own.

I love Chip’s writing and I guess this could be interesting, but I find myself reader fewer superhero ongoings and adding MM probably isnt enough to get me to add this Avengers reboot to my pull list.

I would have been far more interested to read the Dark Age, especially given how delightful Mark’s art was for the Silver Age. But I doubt thats happening anytime soon.

It’s….concerning. It will be an idea that doesn’t take root, and will be abandoned. Meaning MM will be slotted to become Captain Universe and never seen again.

At this point I’ll take anything, the fact MM gets references anymore is surprising after what happened with Gaiman

I wish Chip was taking over the main MM book instead of this though, not to do Dark Age, but to pick it up and do his own thing.. He has that subversive edge to his writing that could serve MM well. Hopefully he’ll bring some of that edge to this but it won’t be the same.

I wouldn’t mind it if the execution was better. They turned him into like a Superman first and…then Miracleman? It just feels like their original idea was bad so they’re like “well we should use Miracleman SOMEday.” And then did it.

is that the guy from YIIK?

Well yes, this is gross. Unless… unless… I mean, “Armageddon” is IN THE TITLE. Is it remotely possible that marvel speed runs the themes of miracleman in AA? That his every appearance as hero destroys the comic universe he’s in?

I hate it though I do feel even more justified in dropping Zdarsky's Captain America book when I did.

I was enjoying the series and character up until this reveal, so I'm willing to give it a go. It's disappointing that they have taken a British character and now translated him into an American, when so much of the Marvel roster are already US based. It would be good to see some more international representation.

If it's well written it'll be ok or maybe fun, if it's poorly written (most likely) it'll suck and we can ignore it. We all betray Moore a little every time we enjoy anything he created that a company is desecrating so yeah we are bad fans but besides that I don't see much reason to get upset about it
