The courtyard consists of several key buildings: the Keep, the guard tower, which houses the barracks, the armory and the dungeon; the gatehouse with a drawbridge and two portcullises, the Church of Cat with a small decorative garden and a crypt underground, a tavern with horse stables on the ground level, a blacksmith, servant's quarters, a small storehouse and a well.
The Keep is made of two structures - old keep (smaller) and new keep (bigger). Entrance is through the new keep, past two gatehouses with portcullisess and a drawbridge, inspired by Rochester castle.
The Keep is a 6-floor building, 7 if you count the ground floor. Each floor is marked by its own color, though 4 and 5 ended up sharing one, as I couldn't come up with a fitting one.
Ground floor - kitchen and storerooms.
1st floor - Great Hall, library and Lord's study.
2nd floor - master bedroom for the Lord and Lady with a separate solar, dining room and main solar.
3rd floor - 2 main bedrooms with separate solars, for Lord's siblings or whatnot.
4th floor - 4 smaller bedrooms, for the children.
5th floor - 6 guest rooms. Though only two rooms have fireplaces and only 4 have windows, wasn't enough space for both.
6th floor - Ball room. I'm especially proud how this one turned out.
As a matter of fact, this is actually a third installation of the castle. The first one was too small, the second one was too large. And like the Three Bears fairytale, the third one was just right.
