Mod Post Our New Partnered Community, r/ForeverWorlds

Hello to all members here at r/Minecraft_Survival, r/Minecraft2, and our community Discord. We’ve recently been working to build a new community dedicated to an increasingly popular Minecraft play style, the Forever World! A Forever World (also known as a long-term world) is simply a Minecraft survival world that you plan to play on forever. This doesn’t mean you can’t have other worlds in between, but rather that you keep coming back to the same world consistently for years, no matter how long it’s been since you began. Together with u/NerdieBirdieYT, we’ve put together a subreddit to share and discuss *your* forever worlds. Alongside this, we have a Discord to chat, gain advice, share pics and videos, and coordinate world tours!

The subreddit is r/foreverworlds, and it is open to everyone for anything you have to share or discuss about Forever Worlds. We invite you to join, whether you’ve had your survival world for a couple of months, several years, or even well over a decade! We’d love to see progress pics and megabuilds, but also the small things that help you keep coming back to the same world time after time. We want you to show us everything that keeps your world fresh and makes it special to you!

We’d also love it if you joined our Discord, Forever Worlds United, at https://discord.gg/QChEEc2uqR. Here, you can share your experiences with and plans for your Forever Worlds personally with like-minded members of the community. Additionally, this Discord server will have a collection of world downloads to explore, schematics to download, and videos showcasing Forever Worlds. Additionally, we will plan and host live world tours for our community to come together and inspire one another through their worlds.

If you’ve been running a single world for a while and want to know what it takes to keep it going as long as many of us have, we’d love to bring you up to speed! If you already have a Forever World, we are eager for you to join and share it with us. And if you just want to be inspired by what years of work in one world can do, please join us as we build up this community!

Discussion Minecraft desperately needs more brick types, including tan/beige colours.

sand stone is too white/yellow. mud is too brown. how do we still not have more brick/stone colours after this long?

there should be some kind of brick maker where you can put all sorts of stone types into small bricks like the brick block or large bricks like the stone brick block in all the different colours.

bricks need a huge rework for building and detailing.

Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge – Bed Flickering/Shaking with Any Shader (Oculus)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing a strange graphical issue in Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge, using Prism Launcher and Oculus for shaders.

As shown in the attached video, whenever I place a bed, it starts flickering, shaking, or visually glitching.

Details:

  • Minecraft version: 1.20.1
  • Mod loader: Forge
  • Launcher: Prism Launcher
  • Shader mod: Oculus
  • Shaders tested: BSL and Complementary Reimagined (among others)

What I've noticed:

  • The issue occurs regardless of which shader pack I use.
  • Disabling shaders completely fixes the problem.
  • The issue is visual, not related to FPS or general performance.
  • The glitch happens when the bed is placed in the world.

I suspect it might be related to Oculus or a rendering compatibility issue with another mod, but I'm not sure.

Has anyone experienced something similar or found a solution?

Any help would be appreciated!

Video attached showing the issue.

its been a couple years since I touched my forever world, and I feel like I'm larping this game

I have this quite yearning that I feel can't be fed when I see this sub, or hear about my friends server, how I've changed, or unfinished builds... because if I did, I would be diving a new potential chapter of my life to early. because minecraft takes energy time and passion to play, there are lots of reasons that hold me back

  1. there are countless beautiful story based games I could play forever already, (hollow knight) and I want to dedicate my life mostly to literature and stories
  2. I have my art career or other recreational irl projects to attend too,
  3. its either a lego obsession or a minecraft obsession (for me)

so even though I keep up to date as much as yall, I feel like a MC imposter, especially bc I'm guessing the reason younger me played happily so much, so long was in part because it was the only game my parents approved of. are there other souls like me here? it feels like when people say they play minecraft, its all they do.

Discussion What do you think about The BRITTLE ICE

I like that it adds realism to the game and would be perfect for making traps . All that remains is to return the Iceologer and it will be better. Or maybe add an ice temple or something.

New Feature Library Reveal: Brittle Ice and Jukebox changes.

Okay, new stuff is here, so what’s the first to showcase? New Ice.

First is the new ice block called brittled ice, can be found in ice caves and you need to be careful, cuz it would break when standing for too long (kinda like turtle eggs). You can also create on your own by put blue ice next to water (And silk touch to obtain this fragile melting thing).

Jukebox also got an update, which had a new look, and putting a chest would create a playlist to your discs. Discs play in slot order, skipping empty slots and other non-music-disc items and looping back to the start. When a disc finishes, the Jukebox swaps it with the next disc in the chest. If the chest has no Music Discs, the disc in the Jukebox plays again. Ejecting the current disc skips to the next available disc

See you later for the next feature reveal.

So heres a quick video on showing how you can escape the world border limit on latest version, this works on Playstation 4 but Im sure it works also on the rest, also this works on both normal and Superflat worlds! After escaping the border 10 blocks away is a barrier that TPs you back to the world, also if you exit the boat you will return to the map, quite interesting! Anyways I hope you enjoy this little tutorial guys! Might see you on the next post!

Discussion Does anything feel as cozy as having a minecraft server with all your friends in it?

About 5 years ago I set up a small server for my friends on an old PC that was otherwise just collecting dust under my desk, mostly because I was the most tech savvy one in the group (I mostly just knew how to google things). Ever since then everyone kind of plays it on and off. Somebody starts nagging us to jump on, everyone plays like maniacs for a few weeks and then it goes quiet until the next time, rinse and repeat.

What makes it work well for a group like ours is that nobody ever has to be online at the same time. People have jobs, kids, other games and hobbies, so the server was just there and people would pop in to see what everyone was up to. Everyone has their own thing going, one friend makes silly redstone contraptions, another tries to build impressive stuff the whole time, and a few completionists get the strongest gear and make automated farms. I mostly try to connect peoples builds with roads and things like that. It feels so nice to login after work and a few of your friends are already ingame hanging out.

Lately, a few of the guys have been saying they'd like to try something else, which I get, so we're looking at a few different options, though I'll keep the server online for now (and back everything up, of course). We are wondering if anything has this same type of feel minecraft does, where everyone can do their own thing and just hang out without much pressure. We are thinking either something like Valheim or some MMO, probably something casual since most of us don’t have that much free time to game. So maybe something like Palia or Loftia when it comes out, those look pretty cozy. I’m just wondering if games like that will give us a similar feeling of freedom we get from minecraft.

I think there's something kinda magical about how Minecraft sits right between a creative game and a more goal oriented one, feels just as rewarding to sit around and work on your base as it does to go out adventuring.

I was wondering if anyone has played something that gives a similar feeling like minecraft does with a group. At least for a bit if we wanna take a break, I don’t think we will ever fully quit minecraft, it just feels special and it keeps getting updated.

Yes, this thing. Please give it to me. Thanks in advance; I don't think so, but thanks anyway. The codes have run out, so I can't get them anywhere anymore. 🙏🙏 if the flair is not right, mods, dm me.
