Question Gord Grantz vs George Minakakis ?

After researching, I realized that these are the best candidates. But I am torn between Gord and George. What convinced you of either of them? I would like to know your opinion.

I like Milton. I think we have a nice town.

Milton is a great place. But there have been some extremely rapid changes that Gord has not adequately responded to. The fact that people still cling to the "small town" reputation is an issue - our population has exploded and is projected to keep growing a lot in the next few decades. The infrastructure is not equipped to keep up with it - just look at the issues with traffic and congestion. Transit basically doesn't exist. There have been so many new condo developments when that is not what people need right now. Ultimately, I think we need someone who is willing to be innovative and is actively responding to our rapid growth. I get people are really attached to the small-town vibes, but at this point, a lot of those people are in denial and it's doing real harm to development.

Gord has been mayor for the **45 years**. He's a great guy and I have absolutely nothing against him personally. He did a ton of amazing things while he was in office and he deserves credit for so much of what is good about this town. But just like Milton is changing, we need change in office, and Gord unfortunately hasn't shown that in these past 4 years. He's had an amazing tenure, but it's time for him to retire.

Who does this...?

just look at the issues with traffic and congestion

What congestion? Even in peak traffic you can cross the entire town in 15 minutes.

There have been so many new condo developments

There are 3.

That is the province mandating growth along GO lines. 400K by 2051 is not a Milton derived number.
