Judge says no to bond reduction for DoorDasher charged with manslaughter; jury trial scheduled
An Oakland County judge on Tuesday denied a defense attorney’s request to reduce bond for a DoorDash driver charged with involuntary manslaughter for allegedly punching a Wixom man who died months later.
Ryan Turner, 41, also of Wixom, is in the Oakland County Jail, with bond set at $750,000. He’s accused in the death of Lloyd Poole, 75, who was allegedly assaulted by Turner near Poole’s home in the area of Barberry Circle and Windingway Drive in the Hidden Creek subdivision on Dec. 28, 2025. Poole fell and hit his head on the roadway after being struck, police said, and Turner drove away, leaving him there.

Turner subsequently came to the Wixom police station and spoke with officers about the incident, police said. He allegedly admitted to police that he struck Poole with a closed fist, claiming he had felt threatened after Poole confronted him about speeding.
The punch left Poole unconscious and hospitalized, officials said, and after he died in May the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office amended a misdemeanor charge of aggravated assault against Turner to the felony.
Turner’s jury trial is scheduled for Feb. 8, 2027 before Oakland County Circuit Judge Cheryl Matthews.

Mickale’s Legacy Lot Petition!
I know first hand how devastating it is to loose a child! I lost my ONLY child to gun violence..now I advocate for parents who have been Dealt this unfortunate hand in life!
I’am propose that the city of Detroit allocate these vacant lots to parents who have lost a child to violence, free of charge. Imagine transforming these spaces into community gardens, art installations, or centers for community activities—each adorned with the loving legacy of a lost child. This isn't just about the help of healing individual families , it's about rejuvenating whole neighborhoods—replacing despair with beauty, neglect with nurturing hands, and emptiness with vibrant community life.
