Finally have a Megadrive again
Might be a little cheating since it's the mini, but wow feels good to play Megadrive again on semi-original hardware 🎮👾

those mini have the latency of small emulators sadly.
on my end I have a Megadrive 2 (not the mini) and a mister FPGA.
those mister load roms but are as fast as original hardware, especially on CRT.
well I have the mini 2 as well but I almost never played it.

I can't speak of the one you have, but the two official Sega Mega Drive 1 and 2 that were released here in the UK feel and look authentic, with no noticable latency. MD2 is an Amazon exclusive and is worth a lot of money now, and has some Mega CD games included. I know there are plenty of others that Sega licenced down the years before they decided to make mini consoles like Nintendo did, I am not talking about those. The official mini consoles are excellent. Unfortunately I can't tell what I am seeing here.

Replying to myself: If Atari can release the 800XL, it's about time that Sega released the Mega Drive again.

It’s cool but this is a system on a chip it’s not remotely similar to original hardware.

Yeah; just another system on a chip within a plastic shell. Completely different hardware.

I think the official ones run a version of linux with an emulator designed by m2

It's a little computer with an emulator, but glad you are having fun with it regardless! It's a solid emulator, the best that has been released officially so far.
