United States When should I quit?

Hello! I’m 19, and I’m in my third week at McDonald’s. I don’t have the problems I see a lot of people talking about on Reddit my managers are nice, and the crew trainers and other team members are great and supportive, almost like family. But the job is genuinely exhausting. Every time I go in, my anxiety spikes, and I’m already in fight-or-flight mode before my shift even starts. I feel weak for thinking about quitting so soon, but I know this isn’t a job I’ll stick with for long. I’d like to set a goal for myself maybe stay for two or three months and save some money but I’m not sure when I should quit, especially since I’ve only just started. I also don’t want to wait until I’m completely drained to realize it’s time. How long should I stick it out at McDonald’s before calling it quits?

Venezuela Postulación Mcdonald en Venezuela

• Upvotes

Australia What does “Production open” mean?

I received my shifts for next week and under one of them it says “production open” but I’ve started earlier than that and it usually just says “Production advanced” or something similar, it’s a 24/7 restaurant, just wanna know if this will be doing something different compared to my other shifts

Australia Got hired, when will they contact me for my first shift? (AUS)

I had my interview on Tuesday and they accepted me on Friday and now it’s the following Tuesday and I haven’t heard anything from them. They’ve given me the McD Connect login and all that stuff but I haven’t heard anything past that. I’m in Victoria. Do I call them or is it too early.

Sorry if this question has been answered I just haven’t really found answers to my situation.

Canada Process after being hired?

I had an interview last week and got a McHire email saying the job has been offered to me a few days ago, so I put in all the necessary information and submitted it. Yesterday I got an email with my archID login and created an account.

What’s next from here? I haven’t got any texts or calls personally from the store or a manager there, just wondering if that’s normal for the process. I also need to let them know about urgent time off I’d need in a couple weeks so should I just contact the store myself or wait for them/McHire to give me more information?

Canada Kitchen is hell when everyone is untrained

I work in a relatively new (2 yrs old) store, so we have all the fancy new in kitchen. OPL (optimized prep line), MFY, as well as the Look & Cook monitors. My training was horrible and I have only recently learned how to do everything properly by going through all the documents myself.

Now, going in the kitchen when no one is trained properly is hell. No UHC timers. Meat in the cabinet for 1 hour +. No one following the Look & Cook monitor (which is especially bad when the initiator decides that they can serve off the monitor whenever they want). Overcooking product (chart says we need 7 reg meat, they cook 12, we end up having to waste 6). No one following Stay in Place (people bouncing around constantly. The initiator vanishing, or deciding to do fry. The grill person suddenly doing initiation). People filling baskets over the vats. Stopping cook timers early.

It’s a wonder we get any food out. Really, it’s a wonder we havent gotten anyone majorly sick.

Canada What to wear to interview?(female)

I have an interview on Wednesday and I’m kinda stumped on what to wear.
I don’t really have the funds to go out and buy anything new and I doubt I can borrow money from anyone for new clothes until after I get a job, but… all the pants I own are sweatpants or leggings mostly.
I have a pair of pink flowy pants. Grey stretchy cargo like pants and… flared leggings. Which is what I was considering wearing because at a glance they could kinda look like black dress pants - or maybe I’m delusional 😂

Shirts are another kinda issue… I have a lot of graphic tshirts(rvca, ripcurl, billabong type ones) but I also have a few plain black tshirts or plain black or dark brown long sleeves. So I was thinking a plain long sleeve as it is getting kinda chilly out, idk.

Jackets/sweater is another issue like… I can go without, like it’s getting chilly yes but McDonald’s is not even a 5 min walk from my house so I’d be okay without lol. Would it be more put together to have a jacket or sweatshirt on? If so my options are a black fleece zip up with grey Sherpa, a plain burgundy sweatshirt, a purple ripcurl one lol, and a cream zip up wooly looking sweater with a collar no hood.

And hair… a braid? Up in a claw clip? I dunno.

Idk I think I’m just getting pre interview anxiousness ahah so it’s making me ask dumb dumb questions.
My aunt tried to tell me to really dress nicely but googling gave differing answers.

I also have diagnosed anxiety and adhd, is that something I should inform them of orrr… my anxiety is well managed but I feel like my adhd could help me kinda thrive in a busy/chaotic environment which could be a plus so maybe I should say that idk

Thank you!

United States Should i respond to a text asking me to come in for an interview?

I worked at McDonald's up until a couple months ago. My gm told me I could always come back if i want to. I cant find a job so I applied again. I got a message saying "thank you for applying. Can you come in to an interview Friday at 2:30?" I know its legit because thats the message I got the first time i applied. What I did last time was call the store and ask if its legit, and it was so i dont need to do that again. Should I respond "yes" or just show up for the interview?

United States Can hours be drastically cut as a disciplinary action? (USA)

Hey all.

To keep it short, I've been at my store for 10 years. Not a manager, just a regular crew member. Usually I am consistently at full time, 40 hours a week. Due to "the slow season, high labor, and low sales" they are doing a major store wide cut of hours right now. This happens every year, it's to be expected, but I have never been cut more than 10 hours. The least hours I've ever gotten was 30 a week during the "cutting times". This time around, I was severely cut. I'm down to 20 hours a week. Everyone at my store has been complaining about losing their hours, but most of them were completely shocked that I was cut so badly. As for what I'm hearing, I've been cut the most.

Let's rewind to about two weeks ago. There was an incident where I got into it with a customer. Long story short, he was being disrespectful and I unfortunately lost my temper and went off on him. Not defending my actions, it wasn't okay, and to be honest its the first time I've ever lost my temper on a customer. He ended up complaining to my manager and threatened to call the 1800 number. I'm still not sure if he actually did.

So my question here is, is it a "thing" to cut hours as a disciplinary action? I've never seen that kind of thing happen at my store. It's usually a write up, a suspension, or just straight termination. But I've heard some jobs severely cut hours as like a "mild suspension" type of thing. And if that IS the reason, aren't they legally supposed to inform you if you are being given a disciplinary action? I live in California which is unfortunately an at will state. I'm just completely taken by surprise because I've never ever been cut this bad even during the slow season. In fact, I was usually the employee that got the most hours out of everyone during the cutting season. So I can't help but wonder.

Germany Starting tomorrow, night shift, full time

Starting tomorrow to work at a McDonald in Germany, I really need money so I asked as many night shift as possible, I'm full time (39h per week) doing all the closing, I'll start in the kitchen and rotate the others jobs. Do you guys have any advice on how to handle night shift the best as possible ? Or for anyone beginning in general ? I already did other full time jobs like waiter, cleaning man, child park supervisor, school tutor etc etc... but everyone's been telling me it's gonna be super hard and awful so now im a bit scared lol, is it that bad ?

Best
