On the fence about the CX-90 because of what you read about stop and go?

2026 Crystal Blue Mica Premium Sport.

If you are like me, I really loved this car, but was scared about all of the stuff I read about stop and go hesitancy. I pulled the trigger anyway and so glad I did. I am about 2 weeks and 350 miles in and this car is amazing!! At first I was thinking about every acceleration from a stop and thinking way too hard about it. The first few days I always turned off istop. Then I decided to just let it roll to see if it was noticeable or annoying and I would definitely say no. I have yet to feel frustrated or mad about the acceleration and man if you step on it, this thing goes!! Faster than I expected a vehicle this size to move. Keep in mind I am coming from a 2012 Ford Edge Limited, but still that was a V6 and still had some juice to it. I know most reviews are people venting frustration so I wanted to make a post for anyone on the fence like I was that I have no regrets and this thing feels luxurious, drives great and something that is important to me, has a killer sound system!! I am still dialing that in, but man it sounds awesome!!

CX-90 cargo puzzle: How are you packing behind the 3rd row when all seats are full?

With the third row up, cargo space gets tight fast. Fitting a compact stroller, grocery bags, backpacks, or weekend duffels becomes a game of Tetris.

I’m trying to optimize the remaining floor space without having bags spill out every time the liftgate opens. Are people using vertical stackable bins, soft duffels, cargo nets, or just relying on the small underfloor storage bin?

Also curious about cargo liners: for those running molded rear trays (OEM Mazda, WeatherTech, 3W, TuxMat, etc.), do they still let you easily access the underfloor compartment, or does a rigid liner become a pain to lift when packed full?

What’s the most efficient packing setup you’ve figured out for road trips with a full cabin?

Worn falken tires.

For those of you who were able to get your 21" falken tires replaced by the dealer do you remeber the 32nds that the tires had to be at. Mine are between 3 and 4 32nds at 17800 miles. And did the dealer take care of it or did you have to involve mazda directly? Tia

Goodwill Tire Replacement From Dealership for OEM Falkens?

These Falkens suck. This is the tread I have after only 10,000 miles. Have any of you had luck getting the dealership to replace them for free or at least discounted price? I bought CPO so I’m hoping they still help me out

CarPlay no longer works with iPhone 18 Pro Max

Hi fellow redditors, I have always read about people complaining about their CX-90’s CarPlay not working and I never understand it until I upgraded to iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Previously, I was using iPhone 13 Pro since 2021 and my wife’s iPhone 12 and 15. Never seen a problem connecting since July 2023 when we bought the CX-90 PHEV PP.

However, after I upgraded into iPhone 18 Pro Max 3-4 weeks ago, the car was able to use CarPlay for some time, then abruptly it just cannot connect to the new iPhone in the past 2 weeks. I have reset the connections and configurations from both the car and the iPhone, deleting connections, forgetting CarPlay, Bluetooth and WiFi, shut the phone off and the car off. It just doesn’t work - the car says it cannot connect to the iPhone wirelessly.

I suspect it is an iOS problem since I updated the latest 27.0.1 about the same time.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Considering a lease

Hey y’all, fair warning I’m not a car person and I need help.

I currently drive a 2020 Jeep Cherokee and it’s been totally fine.

I need to upgrade to a third row suv as my kids are bigger and we are adding a third. I’m also driving more now as I moved a bit further outside city center and kids are mostly involved in things in the city.

I like the look/feel of Mazda CX90 and was considering a lease. I leased my jeep and then purchased it after lease term.

Is this a good car for me? I have been reading the posts and general feedback and it seems like a strong bet. I don’t like how bulky the grand Highlander looks and feels and prefer a smaller SUV but need the third row with new addition. I’m not super fussy I just need a car that is safe and gets us around and a bit of an upgrade from my current.

Thanks for votes of confidence. I know I’m not a car expert but your feedback helps and I’m hoping to lease by year end so any tips on timing or deals etc I’d be happy to take! Thank you.

I really want a CX 90, I love my CX 50 but would like more room. I owe $22,000 on my CX 50 so the trade is zero.

PHEV Help!

Ok how do I turn off the distance control on the cruise control permanently and not have to do it every time I get in the car? I can't take the massive deceleration every time someone merges onto the highway or passes me and pulls over into my lane!

Sticky steering on ‘25

Regarding
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2024/RCLRPT-24V022-8691.PDF

The recall only covers 2024 model, but I’m seeing the exact symptom on a 2025 CX 90 PHEV. Based on some articles, I’ve seen NHTSA seems to be investigating if this also applies 2025.

Has anybody had this problem appear on a 2025 model ??

Buying a CX-90 How'd I do: 2026 Rhodium White Turbo S Premium

Took someone on this sub's advice and blasted emails out to 10 dealers. The negotiations between dealers really seemed to pay off.

Got it down to $55,092 OTD with weather mats, wheel locks, cargo tray, and cargo net.

Owners Lounge ‘24 model lease is nearing its conclusion; do you consider the Durango RT or Explorer ST a stronger value and performance choice, or wait for the ’27 CX90?

Mechanical Questions Mud Flaps

Anyone using the WeatherTech mud flaps on a 70 or 90? (Edited because I’m making up new cars…lol)

I like the “no drill option” vs having to drill a hole with the OEM versions.

Hello everyone I’m reading 18,000 and below there’s Goodwill. But wanted to see if there’s any owners who went out there and asked Mazda USA to replace at higher mileage for example mines at 28,000 miles.

Buying a CX-90 Cross Shopping CX-90 & Toyota Highlander

Hey all!

My wife and I are looking to buy a new full size SUV and I think we’ve officially narrowed it down to a CX-90 3.3 Premium Plus or a Highlander Limited. Likely the 2024 model for both.

It feels to me that the CX is meant to be a more premium / sporty vehicle while the Highlander is more utilitarian and “rugged”. We’d be using this car for commuting, but also road trips, car camping, skiing, and we are planning on long term ownership (10+ years).

I feel like you can get more car for less money with the CX, but have never owned a Mazda or a Toyota before. How is living with the CX? Anything you wish you knew before (both good or bad)? Anyone else cross shops these cars? I have test driven both, and compared the specs, so I’m hoping to learn some more about the details that you notice or appreciate during ownership.

PHEV Sudden Drop in BEV range

Disregard the total driving range, my wife is reckless. what would cause a sudden loss of BEV range? This is reportedly cut to around 1/3 of the normal range over the last three days with daily charging overnight on a level 2 charger.

2024 Premium with 7 months of CPO ownership, 30k total miles.

Edited for grammar.

Update: After my wife’s 4 mile commute to work the battery is sitting at 87% full, which seems reasonable.

CX-90 GS PHEV

Anyone here from Canada with this trim? Would love to hear your long term ownership thoughts. Pros and cons.

I have a chance to lease at 0% for about $527/mo for 3 years. Which I think is a good deal.

PHEV About to return a CX 90 PHEV Lease, any suggestions to help mitigate any extra costs

I have a few little scratches and thats it. But Ive read horror stories of 3rd party inspectors finding anything to jack up the final bill.

Any suggestions would help, or can I counter claim on the final bill?

PHEV ‘25 PHEV - is estimated 510 miles normal range?

I did a road trip this weekend and after filling up on my final leg, the range estimate said 510 miles. For an 18 gallon tank I’m skeptical or really impressed. Not sure yet. Have any of you seen a higher range number?

Please help me understand cx90 feature before I buy

I currently own mazda cx9 2018 and really like the car. I test drove cx90 GT-P and the sales guy couldn't properly answer this.

My current cx9 has adaptive cruze control. I love it. I have lane departure warning. It is meh. How is actual cruize control on the highway on cx90? I am not looking for car to steer city streets for me but will it be able to hold a lane on highway? I am really looking for it to help with very long rides.

Thank you
