The downfall of the US as a global superpower is really one that's going to take a while to analyze because this is too much to pin on just one demented, depraved and compromised con artist. If I had to place blame on specific people though, I think I'd start with either the US senate or the SCOTUS and work from there.

Honestly, this is just another example of US exceptionalism though. There are plenty of other countries in the world that had similar problems after the US constitution was written, most ended with a dead dictator and a proper constitution designed to stop it from happening again.

This is why the US having one of, if not the oldest democratic constitutions still in effect doesn't mean it's the best. It's just outdated.

Europe is not fighting Iran. And buying gas isnā€™t in and of itself treason, but Trump is breaking our sanction against Russia without congressional approval to try and boost republicans in the midterms. The money russia gets will be use to kill more Ukrainian civilians, and, potentially, against our own troops. It should be universally unacceptable to anyone with a conscience.
