Picture Both of our first snakeheads
I spent 4 years before I caught one and then the next day, my nephew caught 1 in 10 minutes.

I live in Baltimore city. Love going to Loch Raven, Lake Roland and other freshwater places. Recently started fishing the Canton waterfront and it has been SO FUN.
Where can I buy live bait in the city? Tochermans has worms but looking for minnows to try.

I lost a bigger trout, I think I need to replace the hooks.

I know they don’t get as big here as they do in other places but any tips on where I can find some nice slabs? In MoCo but willing to drive!

I just purchased a used Pelican Scorpio which is only 10' long. Looks like at the major 3 reservoirs that you're not able to actually take something that small out.
I am in Baltimore, and would like to fish 'around' baltimore if possible. If anybody has tips, would love to hear where I could take this out.
Thanks in advance.

It was small. Those are 8" planks, so it got tossed back. But I'm up pax past Soloman's. I usually get 1ft croaker and they're fun, but this was an oddity to me.

I'm looking for advice about surf fishing Assateague in December or January.
I fished Assateague a few times in May and October. Low surf skill / low surf knowledge style: toss in a bottom rig or cast Gulps and crankbaits and reel in the occasional ray or shark or flounder. That sort of thing. I plan to visit that area over Christmas and New years and want to do better.
How is the fishing, where should I set up, what species will be in the water, what type of bait and artificials, rigs, etc?

Had a fantastic visit to Chesapeake bay/ocean city. I added at least 7 species to my fishing life list. I can’t wait to come back and fish again!

Anyone have luck fishing Centennial lake? I have caught a few nice ones but only ever by the boat house. Everywhere else I don't even get a nibble but this one spot will hold some 1 or 2 pounders. What am I missing on the rest of the lake?
Tight lines everyone!

Looking to get out one day this upcoming week. Haven’t fished in a few years.
I'm in Baltimore, no boat, and want to keep the drive to about 30 minutes.
Where would you go, and what would you throw? Not picky about species.
Thanks!

This is how we load trout on to our stocking trucks. This clip was taken today before we stocked somewhere.

I’m taking my son to a baseball tournament and staying in Cambridge. Wondering if there’s any tips on what to throw. Hotel is on the river bank (Hyatt) and seems like it has some docks to fish from.

Today, October 9, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST, is the final deadline to make your voice heard on the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission’s (ASMFC) Draft Addendum II regarding the Chesapeake Bay industrial reduction fishery cap.
The Draft Addendum considers cutting the Chesapeake Bay harvest cap by up to 50% and establishing seasonal quota periods to prevent localized depletion and protect the broader Bay ecosystem—including striped bass and osprey populations.
How to Submit Comments Before Midnight:
● Online Survey (Recommended): The ASMFC strongly recommends using the official survey so you can weigh in on specific management options: Atlantic Menhaden Public Comment Survey
● Email: Send your written comments directly to comments@asmfc.org (Subject line: Atlantic Menhaden Draft Addendum II).
● Direct Web Form: You can also submit directly via the web form on the Draft Addendum II Action Tracker.
Whether you're an angler, conservationist, or Bay enthusiast, today is your last chance to participate in this decision before final action is considered at the ASMFC Annual Meeting.

I’ve tried jigging/live lining at the bridge pilings off Sandy point and I’ve been around spa creek to the navy base and the docks off discovery village in Maryland. Haven’t had a single bite. I’ve been jigging with 3-5 inch paddletails. I haven’t had an issue catching them on a boat with a captain but I’m struggling to find them on my kayak. Would love some advice and places I can target.
