In honor of Rick Rizzs' last season in the broadcast booth, please consider donating to Toys For Kids. A 501(c) non-profit organization founded by Rizzs and the late Dave Henderson, their goal is to provide hope via toys, school supplies, scholarships and more to homeless and disadvantaged children across Washington State.

One year since I stood in T-Mobile Park for six hours straight and somehow survived 15 innings of winner-take-all baseball. That game took years off my life but was also one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced

Was on such a High last year this time. I still can’t believe how low we went this season.  It even interested in Post Season this year. Especially with the Dodgers in contention. FML

Man, people pay so much attention to the Dodgers and Yankees and let their existence ruin their love of baseball. This has been a fantastic postseason. There has been a TON of high-quality baseball even if you weren't just hate-watching the Astros and Yankees self-destruct.

Guardians, Rays, Brewers, and White Sox combined have a lower payroll than the Dodgers. Brewers had a better regular season record, Rays were the top AL team but the media prefers that you not even know those teams exist. They are genuinely excellent, well-rounded teams and have been sooo much fun to watch.

Three of those four will advance to the LCS, at least one is guaranteed to reach the WS, and the Brewers have a very real chance to knock the Dodgers out. We could have two bottom-10 payroll teams in the WS, which royally fucks up the owners' arguments that they can't compete and could be a massive win for the players in this CBA fight. So much going on right now. This is exciting!

Yeah, shit is great this year. I so wish the M's had pulled through, would have meant we got a killer SEA/CHW series, but even though we didn't you have a few teams going on historic runs, a flagging but determined Dodgers crew trying to three-peat, and JRam trying to make it happen before he's gone. This is one of those really great years we'll be looking back on fondly someday.

My wife is loving that I’m not watching baseball this late into the year. I guess she should be glad I like the Mariners.

How would we feel about Brandon Hyde as a managerial option? Passan said he's well liked and respected in his advisor role with the Rays, and he had a couple really good years with the Orioles. Seems like he was scapegoated a bit in Baltimore, since they haven't really turned it around after firing him.

I think he'd be a fair choice.

They don't have to make the perfect hire, they just to make a good hire. If you have Brandon Hyde instead of Dan Wilson, you make the World Series in '25 and win the division in '26.

That's kinda my thinking too. I don't foresee the division being less winnable in 2027 than it was in 2026, so really the manager just needs to be competent, and hopefully the front office can patch a few holes on the roster in the offseason.

I know this might be controversial here, but what a comeback by the Guardians!
