According to Shannon Drayer in her article she wrote yesterday, calls have started going out for managerial candidates. I'm sort of surprised we haven't heard any rumors yet.

Well we just got a super flimsy one
Some guy on LL said his family friend, Mike Fetters was approached by current Dbacks Bench coach Jeff Bannister to see if he’d want to join his staff if Jeff were to be hired by the Ms.

I think it's very unlikely they sign JP. He's aging with terrible range with the potential for 1 maybe even 2 seasons of lockout. The FO doesn't want to be saddled with that especially if they need to navigate a salary cap around it

He's in a weird boat where he still has some value as a hitter, but is pretty bad defensively. But then you run into the issue that he isn't a good enough hitter to be a DH and also doesn't offer much if anything in the way of base running.

In honor of Rick Rizzs' last season in the broadcast booth, please consider donating to Toys For Kids. A 501(c) non-profit organization founded by Rizzs and the late Dave Henderson, their goal is to provide hope via toys, school supplies, scholarships and more to homeless and disadvantaged children across Washington State.
