Before Edgar Martinez's heroics in 1995 ALDS Game 5 went down in history, he set the stage in Game 4 OTD with a game-winning grand slam!

MLB official trying to remind us why we like Mariners baseball.

And yknow what? It’s working. This season was so drawn out and bad, but it didn’t have one super painful heartbreaking moment that lives rent free in my head. I feel like I’m ready to move onto the half season we’ll get in 27.

Brings a tear to my eye every time I hear his voice in old highlight videos.

I like to call it a “fond memory generator” 😁

If anybody ever deserved to call a World Series, it was Dave Niehaus

Was the only Mariners postseason grand slam until Geno’s in last year’s ALCS

I occasionally will rewatch the video the M’s made for Edgar that was narrated by Cal Ripken Jr during his push to make the HoF. It ends with a game recording of that chant. Full body goosebumps, sometimes a tear or two. I was a freshman at Western, we were GLUED to the TV set in a buddies room at Mathis Hall for those games. I remember the entire dorm exploding with joy when Edgar hit The Double. Good memories.

He and Griffey Jr. killed them Edgar had 10 RBIs in 5 games and Griffey had 5 home runs.

Me and my grandmother (RIP Lindy) were there for this. I was 20. She snuck me beer. Best days of my life.

I love Griffey, Randy Johnson, and Ichiro but Edgar will always be Mr Mariner.

As much as I love Edgar, Alvin Davis is "Mr. Mariner."

Wish we could have two. Maybe like a passing the crown ceremony, or highlander style.

Could have been JP, but I don't think they'd make a thing of it this late in the career.

Well, this team loves to milk the shit out of four of the six good seasons we’ve had in 50 years instead of actually trying to win a World Series, so it wouldn’t shock me if they officially named Edgar “Mr. Mariner 2” or some shit like that. Can’t wait to see the Ms get blanked on Mr. Mariner 2 Commemorative Clear Bag Night.

I have been watching this all day and I see zero reason to stop now. All glory to Gar’!

And we've had to live off of basically just this for 3 decades. Glad we've had a few good playoff moments in the last couple of seasons, but nostalgia from 95 is still about 95% of Mariners highlights.
