Discussion Quite a lot of Interactive World players will be quitting the game if Saturday has nothing to offer for Interactive servers

I have never seen this many Interactive players quitting at once, but I also can't blame them. Interactive servers have been neglected for years and it looks like this Saturday will be the final straw for a lot of Interactive players, particularly whales, moderate spenders, and even the few low spenders/F2P players. Here's a small list of substantial problems with Interactive Servers (Bera, Scania, Luna).

  • Potential System: cubes are just way too expensive and nowhere near as accessible as they should be. Cubes not being able to be bought with mesos at a reasonable price is arguably the main reason I would never recommend Interactive worlds. The potential system in Interactive Worlds is genuinely abhorrent.
  • Progression is just way too expensive: with the new starforcing system, progression in Interactive Worlds is just way too expensive, even for the whales and moderate spenders. The average player is unable to earn nearly enough mesos per week to starforce past 22. Even for whales, the meso cost is extremely high in relation to the amount of mesos available to be earned. It's just way too expensive to even pay your way to endgame. It doesn't help that being F2P is also horrendous, so this just leads to an obscene difficulty for both the average player and whales to progress. Cubes, scrolling, and familiars being as expensive as they are is not helping either.
  • Bossing is unrewarding: the price of intense power crystals in Interactive Servers is incredibly low, and eternal gear and most pitched boss gear are not even exciting rewards anymore because of how cheap they are. The main chase items now (enhancement hammers and brilliant boss items) have such an incredibly low drop rate (interactive servers have 5x less drop rate on these equips than heroic) that bossing is basically a waste of time.
  • Frenzy: the gap between people that have Frenzy totems and do not have Frenzy totems is still crazy. Chains of Resentment is nowhere near as accessible as it should be.
  • Epic Dungeon Passes: Interactive servers have the option to pay maple points at the end of an Epic Dungeon to increase the rewards. But the maple point cost is so astronomically high that it's not worth it (iirc it's 100k maple points for the Shangri-La Epic Dungeon, and that's only one of three epic dungeons). I don't know a single person that pays for these rewards just on the basis of how expensive it is every week. This would be more enticing if it was substantially cheaper as people would actually buy it.
  • Monster Park Tickets: Interactive Server players still have to pay real money to complete all 7 Monster Park runs. The RP shop has 20 monster park tickets per month, but this is nowhere near enough. You can technically get more monster park tickets by converting mesos to maple points, but this would result in each monster park run being ~200m. Again, not worth it at all.
  • Monetization on top of Monetization: The reason that KMS added a lot of battlepasses and Epic Dungeon premium rewards is to make up for the revenue loss from removing cubes from the cash shop. However, GMS Interactive still has cash shop cubes ON TOP of having the battle passes and epic dungeon premium rewards. It's horrendous.
  • Missing Key Features from KMS: Lack of Universal Cash Shop hurts Interactive Worlds. If it's true that UCS wasn't added because of Heroic worlds, then Interactive Worlds are just taking substantial collateral damage which feels very bad (especially since every other overseas server has UCS). Nerfed event rewards also hurts Interactive as the players rely on event rewards more to progress. Also lack of Magic Wand and affordable meso cubes really feels bad too especially since KMS players no longer have to pay real money to cube.

I'm probably missing a lot of stuff but this is mainly what pops up in my head. I would never recommend Interactive Servers and it looks like even the whales at this point have had enough. If Saturday has nothing good to offer Interactive Server players, then a decent chunk of this server will quit. And I mean quit the game entirely if anyone thinks these players are switching to Heroic.

Here's to hoping for amazing changes for Interactive and Heroic servers.

Literally Unplayable Who designed this Yeti game?

WASD to move instead of the standard arrow keys

The most cursed hotkey spread to use abilities. Right click to swap and attack? Literally wtf?

Endless lag

And it's a game designed around hiding from the hunter, but if you stay hidden in a hay bale, you get flagged as AFK and kicked out

????????????

Discussion Interactive world problems

I’m going to be blatantly honest on one of the points that people are hitting. We have to recognize what’s considered as actual plausible plan for nexon, instead of just complaining without any serious thoughts behind it. Our voices need to unite in order for these changes to come alive like in reboot. I’m not supporting nexon what so ever, this is to aim for the right changes not what is mistaken as “Good Solution”
If anyone has a better idea feel free to write them down

Potential issue
yes it is true that interactive is harder to get better potential because we don’t have magic wand but don’t be confused on the prices of magic wands. The magic wand is priced in korea to reflect their mp:meso rate when it was first changed. Since interactive in gms has 400:1 mp and not like 2000:1 mp eate in korea, the price for cubing will be extremely high compared even if they bring in magic wand. It would be 5 times higher, not just on leg potential items, but on rare, epic and unique. They removed solid and hard cubes, and bonus occult cubes in kms as well. So theoretically, it would cost way more for early - mid players since they wouldn’t have enough meso to use magic wand at all. So If they were to bring in magic wand, it would be benefiting late end gamers who are looking for jackpots or bots that have infinite meso.
We can’t just bring in the same price as kms as that would cause its own sets of problem for nexon worse than now. Everyone’e item would be devalued and no whales would like to play this game anymore. The market would just die out very quickly.

Possible Solution:

  1. KMS director idea but enhanced with Gold and silver cube. It would have a way where harder bosses drop gold cubes that are “tradable”. Harder bosses mean Normal Kalos and beyond. That way, it won’t be abused by bots as much since it requires medium amount of funding and people can roll it for just funs at a reasonable price for their item. This would also incentivize people to get stronger as more constant form of meso can be made.
  2. Red coin shop (yearly)
A reward system for bosses that would drop depending on how hard the boss is and selling cubes from it
Harder bosses drop more coins which will allow for more mbot and bpot cubes can be bought. This is something like boss coin shops but have it yearly and more cubes can be bought. Incentivizes people to keep getting stronger and clearing harder content.

Discussion vhilla pubs and morality

how do you guys feel about the morality of clearing a boss after someone dies out?

Generally as frustrating as it is, prefer to give everyone a chance to clear.

Last week I joined a pub and someone died out at the last 30% because no one dropped for them besides me. I tried to leave too hoping the party didn't have enough damage to clear afterwards. They still cleared.

Fast forward to this week. Same thing just about happened. 2 people were trying to out survive me after a couple people died and i kept saying guys we should leave so everyone has a chance to clear. It wasn't until 1 of the 2 other people ran out of lives that they had asked me if we should out. I still didn't clear even though they tried to scumbag the whole party but I did tell them I don't trust them and that they're dirty for that and kicked them.

Discussion Memory of a random player’s kindness 20 years ago

• Upvotes

Just wanted to share something I still vividly remember about a random MapleStory player.

I started playing MapleStory back in kindergarten, when my English (my second language) was still pretty poor. Because of this, I often ended up in places I never intended to go.

One time, I wanted to take a taxi somewhere but accidentally selected the “Sleepywood” option instead. This was back in the OG days, when leveling was incredibly difficult (and I was just a kid who didn’t know any better), so Sleepywood was probably the scariest place in the entire game for me. I was worried I’d never make it back.

To make matters worse, my siblings and cousins used to tell this scary story about those very same woods. (TL;DR: There’s a children’s song in my country about a mole who takes the metro to the woods. My cousin came up with a story that the woods were actually Sleepywood, and that the mole’s metro broke down, leaving him stranded there forever.)

I remember asking my older sister for help, and together we ended up asking the local players if anyone could help me escape the woods (I think i didn’t have money for the taxi back?). Luckily, one kind player immediately came to my rescue and led me all the way out, killing every monster along the way.

I hope whoever helped me is having a good time right now : )

Discussion Go Go Side Kick ranking up

As someone that is doing this event, does the rates of tiering up from E>D>C>B>A>S get better as the designer rank go up?

Not sure if i'm just luckier this week, but week 3 (Veteran Rank) i'm noticing I'm rolling more D's than E's with my first 3 deploys compared to the previous weeks.

I'm hoping once we reach higher designer ranks the rates will get better for the 500 frags.

Information [Megathread] Who do I HyperBurn? Is class X better than Y? Ask your questions here!

This megathread is for those who are undecided about who to play, have questions about certain classes before choosing to HyperBurn, or have questions about HyperBurn in general.

Help us help you

Don't just ask "I want high damage, high mobility, low cd, low funding, easy to play, good mobber, looks sexy class". Don't be overly lengthy when asking your questions, be somewhat detailed, and bring it down to a couple choices you are interested in. Being too vague also won't help with getting an answer.

Master List of Class Discords

Some NEW changes this time around.

* There is a Hyperburn Max (1-260), and there is also a separate Hyperburn Beyond (260-270). Further explanations down below.

* All class intro quests are skippable. Yes, that means the crazy long Illium quest or annoying Explorer quest is instantly skippable. The game will just plop you into the game at level 30.

* It is HIGHLY recommended if you are a returning or brand new player with low account progression to start your journey again in the Challenger World. Just make sure you pick the correct Challenger world. Challenger World HEROIC (Kronos/Hyperion) or Challenger World INTERACTIVE (Bera/Scania). These two servers are complete separate experiences and you cannot transfer your Challenger World character from Heroic to Interactive.

What is Hyperburn MAX?

* You apply Hyperburn during character select to a single character during the event and that character will gain 5 levels instead of 1 every time you level until level 260! Get free rewards and symbols at certain level milestones as you play.

* If you Hyperburn a character in Challengers world, that character will gain boosted rewards compared to Hyperburning it in your home server. For example at level 200 you will get a level 7 Arcane Symbol with 100 Nodestones at your home server. In Challengers World you will get a level 10 Arcane Symbol, 200 Nodestones, a Trait Boost Potion, and a Boss Accessory Box.

Get to level 200 in 30 minutes with Tera Blink!

* A character that is Hyperburn gets access to Tera Blink! It is a special Tutorial map that gives you a brief tutorial on in-game systems (how potions work, how your skills work, etc) while giving you a lot of experience along the way.

* The average time it takes for someone to get to 200 using Tera Blink is around 30 minutes. For those that know what to do already it can be as fast as 15 minutes!

Get 2 levels every time at level 260-270!

* After Hyberburn is over and your character is 260, you can apply Hyperburn Beyond. It works similar to HB Max, but only gives you 2 levels instead of 5 on every level up until level 270.

* There is no boosted reward bonus for using Hyperburn Beyond on Challengers World versus your home world. Both worlds have the same rewards.

* Hyperburn Max and Hyperburn Beyond characters can be applied on different characters.

Boost Your Damage with Item Burning!

  • At level 200 after finishing the 5th job quest, you can assign a character to wear the Challengers equipment. This is temporary equipment grows in strength as you complete level milestones and boss missions. The expected length of the equipment duration is around 6 months.
  • The Item Burning set is Hat, Top, Pants, Gloves, Shoes, Cape, Shoulder, Weapon.
  • There are 6 Missions of varying difficulty and level milestones. Stage 3 for example is get level 220 and solo Chaos Papulatus. This grants the reward of all your Item Burning Equipment becoming 17 stars.
  • There will be a GMS Specific way to replace certain Item Burning pieces to retain your strength without breaking set effects. Keep an eye out for the patch notes.

Discussion Hyperion server a ghost town?

I play on Kronos. I noticed today there are much fewer players online than usual.

I then recalled when I played CW2 with a guild mate who told me he was going to export his whole account to Hyperion after the CW event was over and take advantage of the ADDITIONAL legion potions Nexon was offering to incentivize you to play on Hyperion….

Out of curiosity, I made a new character and visited Hennessys in channel 1. It was a GHOST TOWN. There was not a single player…
WOW!!! 🤯

Imagine having spent real money on this deadass server….

They will gaslight us on interactive and heroic. Atleast the whales who show up will eat up the boss changes and cw4 slop.
