My apartment in Japan
This was my apartment back when I lived in Japan. This picture is pretty much the whole apartment. Right next to the refrigerator, I had a very small kitchen consisting of a sink and a single stove. And a really tiny bathroom, which I didn't even fit into, facing the kitchen.

32M My setup after two years in the same spot
Kept it simple the whole time. Bed, projector, and that’s pretty much it. Pointed it at the ceiling a couple weeks ago and it’s been decent. Remote always ends up lost in the blankets though.

Not that bad
37m, living in Rome. Couldn’t afford an apartment in the city so…moved to a boat on river Tiber. Just not all the comforts, but missing nothing from living on land. And I can fish from my desk.
Edit: To add a bit of context: I'm Spanish and my 4yo son lives in Rome and stays with me during the weekends, so I needed a place to stay here. Found a cheap rent in a 24m sailboat room, ended up buying the boat in the photos paying less than a normal rent in the city. And I work some times helping in the pier(the owner sold me the boat) or repairing other boats.
It was cheap because it needed reparations I'm doing myself. Nothing worked and it was dirty and a general mess. Not sailing by now. Animals, insects, water, all of them want to get inside, and getting cold now, hope to survive the winter.
Wi-fi with my phone hotspot, hard to play ps online. Water for free and low electricity because of solar panels.
My son loves it and I love it. Great luck and great opportunity. Just hoping to be able to pay it every month.

Starting over at 39
After a layoff and 18 months unemployment, finally got a new apartment. Went back to my parents house for a while. Now I’m in grad school for CS and finally back to work. How’s my survival space?

Studying & Gaming everyday

Fully online.
I live in this room 24/7.
The gaming chair is comfy (first one I ever bought).

19M, first "apartment" (a rented master bedroom in a shared house)
Just moved across the country from WA to NY, I brought pretty much nothing but some clothes and a Playstation. Got a nice bedframe off of Amazon and a hybrid foam/spring mattress from Walmart.
It's Christmas themed because it brings good cheer and jolly feelings to me every time I walk in. I have a Christmas tree in the opposite corner of the room. Didn't get a photo of the other side because it looks like shit and I have boxes everywhere.
Was unsure if this is too nice of a place for this sub but I'm renting out a singular room and it's definitely too shitty for r/malelivingspace lol

Better pictures, got my spot back!
Tweakers found my spot a week ago, so I ported everything out (one trip gang!) and then left to go to my other spots, for 8 days. Then I had lunch and was nearby to my usual spot, and I really wanted to take a nap. I had 2,000 calories for lunch and I wanted to lay down. So I hike and stealth into my hidden spot!
The tweakers are long gone and no trace remained. I ran into my friend who also stays there, he said he left for a few days cause he was also feeling unsafe, and that it seemed the couple who tried to stay there were chased out by normal hiking people. They don’t seem to chase us out because me and my friend are 1.) sober 2.) well dressed clean and quiet 3.) we tidy up the space and keep to ourselves and 4.) don’t leave things set up/bring crap to the spot.
Specifically for me, I’m able to easily carry my fully loaded bikepacking bike (one backpack riding top rail on the rear rack, my frame bag, and a 40L drybag up front riding the handlebars, <80lbs of the full bike weight) up and down steep hills by Hiking it, plus riding it, and leave within 15 minutes and not leave anything there to get messed with or anything. I also set up after dark and leave at dawn.
Besides that, I like this spot because it has a really good view and tons of birds come here. There’s less traffic and it’s a very technically difficult/albeit fun spot to Hike-A-bike into, since my fun hobby and lifestyle thing is literally BikePacking, which sometimes means you have to carry your bike and bags and HIKE it in somewhere.
It’s also fairly sheltered from the weather. I stay hidden pretty well.
Today, I had some time beteeen the rain so I found myself dozing at a nap
Gear:
10x10 tarp tent
Klymit Hammock V sleeping pad
Cats meow mummy sleeping bag
DIY camo covers made from bed sheets
Generic ultra light hammock that’s too narrow
Earth runner sandals and wennigas leg wraps

Moved into shared housing
This is my first time in shard housing in over 15 years. I left a studio to move in with a woman. That lasted about 18 months and then she told me I was no longer welcome in our shared apartment. I’ve been sober for about 4.5 years. She said she wanted to break up earlier but thought I’d drink over it. My sobriety is stronger than that. Let me know what you think. I need some stuff on the walls.

Rate my setup (old man’s gooseneck)
Goose neck trailer, 35 bucks a month. Live with a welder I met in the oil field. He pays a little more since he gets the TV. Not too shabby, almost too nice. Let me know thoughts or improvements.
