Discussion TheBalm discontinued?

I was looking for the blush called Cabana Boy, and to my surprise wherever I looked for TheBalm products online, either they were out of stock or being sold as clearance.
I checked their instagram (last post was in January) and their website, which clearly doesn’t open. Then came to reddit to find out that the brand is DONE.
I was heartbroken ngl, because I’ll never be able to repurchase my og products. Thebalm Time Balm concealer, Down Boy Blush, Hot Mama, Bahama Mama, Mary Lou Manizer and Take Home the Bronze were my first ever makeup purchases. I don’t know about you guys, but I’ll surely miss those big pans, that packaging and the feeling of nostalgia.

I’m here to ask for your help. I want to find dupes for their blushes. Hoping that the suggestions of this post will help others as well :))

Question What would be some good dupes of these pallets?

Thumbnail

I love love loved these pallets. They were always my absolute go-to, but I guess Lime Crime doesn't sell makeup anymore? I went to their website and it's basically blank? But I'd really love some eyeshadows that are close enough to the ones I have hearted. Lime Crime Venus XL PALETTE on the right and Lime Crime Venus III on the left.

I'm on the fence. I was gonna go out to a party to meet friends for dinner, but now IDK. Is it too much? Im no good at lips. Lol. I'm in my 40s and not dead, but I'm married and not looking for the attention either, ya know? I just feel pretty and also need food. 😋

No matter if I go or not, I love doing my makeup when I can and figured you all might appreciate it too. I'm not a pro but it cheers me up when I have a chance to be creative. I pulled out an old dress and matching jewelry to do the whole thang. Here's what I pulled out of my makeup kit! I had fun. To me that's all that matters. ☺️

Face:

Elf Power Grip Primer

WetnWild Bare Focus Tinted Hydrator (tan medium)

WetnWild Incognito Concealer (honey light)

Nyx Epic liner Pen (Dark chocolate)

Nyx Epic Wear Liner (blue trip)

HELP

Hello All!! I am 47 and BOOORRRING!! This is what I look like on a daily basis. I live in a very low humidity state. I hate my face. I hate my nose, my jowels and the shape of my face. I always wish I could use eyeliner, but I can never find one that doesn't smudge. I see so much great advice on here, I thought maybe I can get some pointers?

Advice for a glow up pls

Thumbnail

Been through the toughest year of my life which included a massive betrayal, so really want to glow up and get my confidence back.

I used to be a makeup junkie back in my early teens, but then settled for a 3-products look as I realised too much makeup overpowers and completely drowns me out. However, I’ve been using the same makeup products and makeup routine for five years now and I’d really loveee it if I could get some suggestions on how to do my makeup better - in a way that complements my features. I really wanna learn and experiment, so please don't hesitate to point out anything you think I could do differently. All advice and criticism will be greatly appreciated! ^_^♡

Currently I wear:
ꕤ Concealer under my eyes (and wherever I need coverage) - Tarte shape tape concealer in shade 12S/12N (fair/fair neutral)
ꕤ A mascara - essence lash princess or benefit
ꕤ A lip shade that matches my natural lip colour (I use the same on cheeks too)

(These are the products that I’m wearing in these pics as well)
Last one is no makeup for the contrast

I’m looking to start wearing foundation too, if I can find something that’s very natural, lightweight and subtle (preferably glossy/glowy finish)

Discussion is tubing mascara too good to be true?

• Upvotes

hi, I currently use loreal telescopic every few days as im recovering from blepharitis lash loss. I do one very thin swipe of mascara on each eye but I find that when I take it off that my lashes feel dry and weak, so im scared it will cause lash loss!! never had this problem with telescopic before bleph so now im trying to find alternatives as I missed wearing mascara.

ive heard about tubing mascara (specifically the red/white one from loreal) and how that will essentially fix all my problems and maybe even promote lash growth?! my concern is that this tubing mascara seems too good to be true, what are some pros and cons you guys have had with tubing mascara compared to regular mascara? also, what are your tubing mascara recommendations that arent crazy expensive?

tldr: pros and cons of tubing mascara versus regular mascara

Close to my perfect beat

Thumbnail

I’m not normally a full beat girly (mostly because I am intimidated by contour) but I have a couple of events coming up and figured it was time to find my products and nail down a beat that would not budge. I used a lot of Shelby Ann’s methods with products I think would work better for my skin age and type. Some notes: I do not like looking super warm and I no longer like heavy eyeshadow on me. As I’ve aged I’ve noticed it makes my eyes look smaller. I’m still trying to push the under-eye blur so any tips there are appreciated. Shelby gets hers so blurred!!! (But also she’s at least 10 years younger than me so…I might be asking for a miracle here)

Age 37
Skin type: very dry

Products used:
Skin prep:
- VT Cosmetics Cica Daily soothing skin mask
- Skin1004 Madagascar centella ampoule
- rosehip oil with 2% pure rose oil

Habit of collecting more than wearing

I love make up. Clearly why i’m here. But lately i’ve felt like i’m more into buying and collecting over actually using all my make up.

Want to make more time to play and actually be in the habit of being creative with my make up. I love the ritual of putting on make up in the morning for work, when i make the time to actually enjoy it and not rush. It really feels so fun to have a playlist going in the morning while I spend time on myself. It makes me feel good and confident, especially to start my day.

But once i’m free later in the day i find i lack the motivation to play with my make up and actually continue to improve my skills and creative expression.

Anyone have any tips on where you get inspiration to play or try new techniques. I follow some youtube beauty creators for inspo but i often end up watching the content and saving it and not actually trying it.

Or just tips on how you motivate yourself more to actually practice if you can relate.

Appreciate any thoughts!
