How to switch food for super picky MC
My girl is now 4. She's never been food focused and really not a great eater. She's been eating Royal Canin Kitten wet food since we brought her home. I've tried to introduce her to so many different brands, flavours and textures but she is never interested in trying anything for long and will absolutely not eat her food if I put something new in it. I would, ideally, like to get her on to eating some adult wet food but am at a loss on how to get her to eat something new.
So how were you successful in getting your fussy one to switch and eat something new?

Super sensitive tummy
This is Sullivan! He is neutered, almost 18 months!
My intention when bringing him home was to feed high protein, high quality wet foods only with high protein nutrient dense treats and supplements to his meals. A few weeks after bringing him home we had an initial vomiting/diarrhea episode (he was eating instinct kitten, weruva kitten foods) that we immediately got checked out. His PCR test came back positive for having giardia but they weren’t live cells apparently. He was treated with cerenia, a dewormer I think panacur. He improved after that but a few months later we had another really severe bout of diarrhea and vomiting. We did another fecal test and it came back negative so we continued with bland foods. He is eating solely Royal Canin digestive which works really well I just hate that he has to eat that solely in order to have a normal stool. I gave him a ziwi peak lamb and mackerel can mixed in 50% of the royal canin and he dropped a bomb in the litter box that smells like it could melt the paint off the wall. He is getting a probiotic every day as well….any suggestions? Or do we just live a total Royal canin life now???? Ugh.

This big fluff ball that looks like a lion is a gentle kitten. If I’m in the bathroom he’s in the bathroom. If he can’t get in the bathroom he will meeeoooowwwwww at the door. And when I let him in he looks at me like how dare I keep him out.

Losing our boy suddenly
Our 1y old boy suddenly when into congenital heart failure Sunday night. We rushed him to the emergency vet hospital to get him stable and after multiple medications and over 24 hours in the Snyder unit we were able to have the echo done on his heart. The doctors suspected at first he had HCM because of the breeds history and his symptoms. Our cardiologist and his wife both work at the hospital and have two of their own so our boy was in special hands. It was discovered he had an unrelated very rare and severe congenital heart deformity that would not be survivable in any capacity. We hoped to bring him home on palliative care but the longer he was in the hospital the reality of that not being in the cards for our lil guy became obvious.
Just 361 days after we brought him home from the breeder our sweet boy crossed the rainbow bridge into heaven while being held in our arms. He was our baby and we hoped to have many more years with him. Unfortunately I will grieve what could have been and what should have been for my sweet boy until the day I die and see him once again. I’m so thankful I got to be his mama and love him more than life itself. I find myself looking for him around the house in his usual spots and I will continue to look for him for the rest of my life, hug your babies extra tight and if you have gone through a loss just know baby Yule is up their being the best and most snuggly friend.
Edit: Thank you all for the kind words, based off of the published data available he truly was 1 in a million, he may have been an unlucky boy with a very special heart but he made us the luckiest people alive getting to call him ours and love him while he was here earth side and for the rest of our lives while he waits for us on the other side of the bridge ❤️

How much does your Maine Coon eat? Pic of my boy for attention
I used to leave out a large bowl of kibble (and replenish weekly) together with about 3/4 pouches of filex jellies a day. That would do him fine and he is 6 years old and and weighed about 6.5/7 Kg.
Fast forward 6 months, bearing in mind we have moved house twice (as sold our old property and just moved into a new one so he may have been anxious). But he now isn't bothering with the kibble but is CONSTANTLY HUNGRY and eats like I haven't feed him in a week. He's having like 9/10 pouches day and he's not gaining weight (now weighs around 6 kg and is quite bony). Vet has done physical examination and bloods and all fine so next step is scans to try and figure out what is wrong. He is playful and seems otherwise ok but he's just starving constantly. He's had a wormer too. But probably needs two does in concession instead.
But if a male adult Maine coon isn't eating kibble how many pouches should I be feeding him? What is normal?

Some news about Bambou
Hey,
My kitten turns five months old on October 20th. He is incredibly high-energy and very playful—my previous male cat wasn't nearly as active! He is also exceptionally intelligent and makes a fantastic playmate for my children, despite the occasional scratch or nip during playtime.

My boy Storm’s colour?
Is he Blue, or Blue Smoke? Check his tummy and toe feathers, some silvering there.

My first 🖤🖤
I pick up this baby next week! He’s currently 14 weeks. I’m thinking he’s a Silas or Hugo but I’ll decide once I have him in my arms.. I have 3 resident cats and 2 fosters but my dream has been a Maine Coon and you only live once right? After my soul cat died in August, I need to heal my heart.

Question for those who got from AbsCatz
Over 15 years ago, we got a Maine coon from a bad breeder in Long Island. I unfortunately don't remember her name and I cannot find her now - perhaps she went out of business. The cat we got from her was sick from the very beginning. But we were committed to giving our cat the best quality of life we could. We loved her and cared for her until the very end. While she was extremely loved and well cared for, she lived a life of chronic health problems, and it got rough towards the end. She passed at 13 years old. Now that we have grieved her loss and some time has passed, we are finally ready for another Maine coon, but we do not want to make the same mistake of getting from the wrong breeder again.
My question is: if you have gotten a cat from AbsCatz, is your cat healthy? By healthy I mean no health problems in the years you have had them? Can you tell me about your cat? Is AbsCatz a reputable breeder? I heard there was a breeder in Long Island who was abusing animals.
Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it!

Kitten pet eye looks squinted. Want some opinions.
Edit—-supposed to say left eye. They sent some pics of the cat we’re supposed to get next week. Its left eye is less open in multiple pics. Is that a kitten thing that happens sometimes or is that an indication of how it’s always going to look. We’re going to get it anyway but it may be something we use to. Negotiate the price if it’s permanent. Thanks!

Malta, staring down the new puppy
She's actually been pretty curious with him. Everyone's still trying to figure eachother out.

We're all a bit intimidated by him.
He's my second all white Maine Coon. He's 20 pounds, has big bones and is a muscular four year old. I get a lot of joy watching him strut around and playing prey games with him. The Cavaliers don't try to engage him as he's bigger than they are. We all give him a lot of respect; he's King of the Castle.

Tell me your litter situation
I don’t have a Maine coon, but I’m deeply fascinated with them.
So tell me, what kind of litter box and litter are you all using? Practically speaking, how do you even find a box big enough? Do you have to worry about their fur holding onto litter bits and waste? Is there an ideal Maine coon “bathroom,” or does it depend on the individual cat? And crazy question: anyone train their cat to use the (human) toilet? I know they’re extremely smart & very trainable. Thank you, Maine coon community!

Very messy litter box issues
Hello!
We have a 6 month old male Maine coon. We love him, he’s silly and adorable.
But.
He is the MESSIEST cat I have ever seen! Almost every time he uses the litter box, he comes out covered in dust and his paws have poop or pee on them. The entire litter area is always full of litter, but not just litter tracked out of the box, actual chunks of his waste.
We clean the box frequently, it’s the new waste he steps in.
He also refuses to bury his poop, so the smell is very strong.
Pls for the love of God what do we do?
We have the largest litter boxes available, but open tops. We use traditional litter but have also tried oko cat recently, it helps with the smell a bit.
This is not new for him, but just getting worse as he gets bigger! Help!

I can't wait to get him.
February cannot come soon enough!
