I am intrigued by the Ku Xiu X40 3-in-1 MagSafe charger. Especially the design and compactness. But I know very little about this brand, and most of the videos/reviews Iâve seen are more paid and sponsored. There isnât much about long term reliability to be found.
Anyone have experience with these? Would you recommend it? Or should I shift to typical ESR or Ugreen products?
Hey guys! I got the Low Pro from PopSockets and itâs been great so far except for one caveat.
With Magsafe accessories, it works great as expected, but, when I try to stick it in metal surfaces like, the fridge or a metal surface, itâs weak. It slides down even, unlike in the advertisments where itâs solid and stable. Before anyone comes for me, I tried in different surfaces already. I have a magnetic case for another device and I know which surfaces are supposedly weak or strong. Tried it with and without my magsafe phone case too.
PopSocketâs Customer Service is great and has been so supportive of this concern! I was just wondering if anyone else has this experience so I would know if Iâll get the voucher to buy another one or just refund it fully. (i paid in a different current so there will be a little Exhange Rate diff. Bear with me)
I donât live in the US so they canât send a replacement.
The overall flatness and that magsafe feature is mainly why I paid that price tag for a pop socket soâŚ
My Moft MagSafe Findmy wallet just randomly beeps all the time. In my pocket, on the phone, removed from the phone, when Iâm home with it, when I leave it home. Itâs driving me nuts. Slow beeps. Fast beeps.
I assume Moft has bought some after market tracker, and other MagSafe Findmy wallets have similar issues.
Does anyone know what Iâm doing to set it off?
Has anyone solved the beeping? Can I turn off all beeping unless I specifically ask for it?
Iâve tried a lot of different settings but nothing works.
My Lucid Gravity has (like almost every vehicle on sale today) a horrible wireless charging pad that would just heat up my phone.
My solution is 2 Apple MagSafe pucks and some dBrand vinyl stickers to help them blend in better! I also colored the white cables black so they match nicely.
The 2 USB-C ports are 100w each so Iâm getting the full 25w charging per puck.
didnt even think the cuktech would stick through a case this thick but it hasnt fallen off once. pretty sure this is the most cursed magsafe stack on here, show me something worse
Body: Iâm planning to build an e-commerce store selling MagSafe wallets. Iâve used several myself and know there are a lot of pain points out there.
Iâd love to hear your honest opinions: Whatâs your #1 thing you care about when picking a MagSafe wallet?
Magnet strength (wonât fall off in pocket/car)
Slimness & thickness
Card retention (holds 1 card securely, not only when stuffed full)
Material durability (leather, woven, metal, etc.)
Find My / tracking capability
RFID blocking
Built-in kickstand/grip (or do you hate extra bulk from gimmicks?)
Price
Also: Whatâs your biggest frustration with current MagSafe wallets on the market?
Let me start of by saying that I absolutely know this would not work with any kind of magsafe charging lmao. I'm fine with that, I'm very used to just using my USB anyways and I've heard magsafe charging heats the phone up a lot. I'm more concerned with magsafe accessories like a pop socket or grip loop.
I've never really used magsafe before so I'm not really sure about how strong the magnetism is, but I've got a phone case coming which has it. I'd like to glue a paper thin metal bookmark with a cute design to the back of the phone, but it would cover the magsafe ring. Does anyone know if that would prevent magsafe accessories from locking on?
I recently upgraded to a new iPhone and Iâm looking for some accessories.
I have been using a pop wallet to hold my cards and a grip. The pop wallet pushes the cards out just right so it doesnât get stuck under the camera with my phone case.
But now Iâm looking for a new one.
Requirements:
- slim/thin profile
- I only carry 3 total cards, and donât need more capacity than that
- I donât need a money clip or a stand or anything like that.
- I want to be able to attach an âohsnapâ grip.
- I want to be able to take my cards out WITHOUT removing the wallet from the phone.
My basic requirement is a thin MagSafe wallet that I can attach a grip to on the other side (or car mount).
I have been looking at magsafe wallets but I cannot find the perfect solution for my uses.
It's easy to find a simple magsafe card holder, but how about a separate companion wallet that can attach to the card holder when a full wallet is more desirable?
My exact use case is that I am cyclist. I don't typically carry any wallet/ID/cards when cycling, but I do carry my phone. A magsafe card holder would be handy for this, but I desire to carry a full wallet other times (other ID cards, cash, business cards, etc). If the magsafe card holder would snap on the rest of my full wallet that would be very handy.
I'm hoping some entrepreneur will see this and create the product (or someone will point me in the right direction if the product does exist)
I keep a MagSafe wallet on my iphone16 most of the time, but Iâd also like to carry a magnetic power bank for longer days out.
What do other wallet users do when itâs time to charge? Do you move the wallet to your pocket and snap on the battery, or just plug in instead? Iâm wondering if switching between MagSafe accessories gets annoying after a while.
Rn im getting tired of buying cheaps cases that are either super thin but have weak magnets, or have great magnets and make the phone feel huge.
Just bought the new 18 pro and i normally use magsafe for charging and a car mount, so the magnet needs to be strong. But I also carry my phone in my pocket all day and don't want a chunky case.
Iâve been seeing brands like Torras, Spigen, so more brands pop up online with a lot of positive feedback, but I'm still hesitant to buy despite the good reviews. I donât want to keep buying cases just to find out the magnets suck or that wireless charging gets flaky.
I lost my OhSnap Grip Stand the day before I left for Japan, and now my phone feels naked without it. Itâs not at the usual big chain tech stores like Yodabashi or Bic Camera, and their website only ships to Canada or the US. I havenât found any alternatives I like as much.
Does anybody know if itâs available in Japan, and if so, where? Iâm in Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Osaka, in that order.
I said in my original CryoBoost post that I wanted to rerun the charging tests after upgrading my phone. I now use an iPhone 17 Pro, so I finally went back to the same charger and did that.
I have been using it daily since May and have taken it traveling too. This is a follow-up to those first impressions, with new charging results and a few things that have become clearer after several months of use.
Quick disclosure: ESR originally sent me this charger for testing. This is the same test unit from my original post, and the measurements and opinions below are my own.

The iPhone 17 Pro results
The wireless tests were done with my Pitaka case on. That is how I normally use the phone, and it is the setup I wanted to test.
From 0 to 80%, I got:
USB-C: 46 minutes
CryoBoost, fan on: 55 minutes
CryoBoost, fan off: 67 minutes
After 30 minutes, the phone was at 57% with the fan on versus 42% with it off. After an hour, it was at 83% versus 75%. So the fan-on advantage was 15 percentage points at 30 minutes and 8 percentage points at 60 minutes. Turning the fan on still made a clear difference to charging speed.
Wired charging was the fastest, but with the fan enabled, the wireless result was only nine minutes behind it.
Moving from the 12 Pro to the 17 Pro made a surprisingly large difference in my results, especially with the fan turned off. In the old test, fan-off charging took 120 minutes to reach 80%. With the 17 Pro, that came down to 67 minutes.
The fan-on result changed from 79 to 55 minutes, while wired charging went from 62 to 46 minutes. The gap between fan-on wireless and wired charging has narrowed from 17 minutes to nine. It is the same CryoBoost unit, but it gives me a much better set of charging results with my current phone.
Several months later
I do not fold and unfold it very often, and the hinges have not changed in my use. I have not noticed any visible wear either. The Apple Watch arm was looser than the main hinge in my first post, and that difference is still there.
The fan remains quiet. I was pleasantly surprised by that when I first tested it, and it still has not become an annoyance in everyday use.
The thing I would most like to change is still the AirPods charging area. I mentioned wanting magnetic positioning in the original post, and after longer use I miss it even more. If I do not place the case quite precisely, charging sometimes switches on and off and the AirPods case beeps. It is a small part of the charger, but it is a real everyday annoyance, and I would like placement to be more automatic.
The 17 Pro results have definitely changed my opinion positively. Fan-off charging is now much more usable, and fan-on wireless charging gets close enough to the cable that I am happy with the tradeoff.
For me, wireless convenience is worth those few extra minutes. USB-C still wins if all I care about is finishing as quickly as possible, but the nine-minute difference is small enough that I prefer the convenience of putting the phone on the stand in normal use.
I still want better AirPods positioning, but several months later, with the newer phone, I like the same CryoBoost charger more than I did after that first week.
If anyone has questions about the tests or everyday use, feel free to ask.
Used an iPhone 11 Pro through most of college, so MagSafe was never really part of my life. Back then I just carried a basic 22.5W wired power bank and a Lightning cable. I recently started an internship, upgraded to an iPhone 18 Pro, and now I'm traveling for work way more than I used to.
Ngl, wireless charging is ridiculously convenient when I'm on the move. At airports, on trains, or between meetings, just snapping a battery pack onto the back is so much easier than dealing with a cable. I've been using a 25W magnetic power bank lately and for quick top-ups itâs honestly been great.
The problem is this thing gets pretty hot, and my 18 Pro heats up with it. That's the part making me nervous since I wanna keep this phone for a few years and don't really want to cook the battery every time I charge on a trip.
I started looking at magnetic packs with fans or active cooling, but most seem bulkier, pricier, and use extra power. Is active cooling actually worth it for wireless charging, or is there a simpler way to keep temps down?
Hey guys, just want to give a friendly warning that if you see any mention online about Vionentus being a good product, it is 100% a bot. I was astroturfed by multiple reddit commenters, that I now know are bots. Just thought I would warn anyone who does their research through reddit. Reddit is not safe anymore. If there is anyone able to help that would be awesome too. Thanks for your time.
