Met him in L.A. a few years ago at pro beauty supply store in the Valley that also sold a lot of SFX blood and the like, which I needed a few gallons of. As I was waiting, in walks Alex, chatting with everyone who worked there (he was a regular) as he was doing some shopping (didn't see for what, but clearly the man took great care of his skin and hair, lol!). Super nice guy, pleasant conversationalist and after he left, the staff couldn't rave about him enough . Always love hearing that the people we THINK are nice, actually turn out to be that way, lol! RIP, Mr. Trebek...

I think we need to reconsider what a really good deserving heaven person is. While amy was a wonderful artist she died of drugs and alcohol. How can this be heavenly? She did it to herself.

I don’t know how you compare Mr Roger’s, Steve Irwin and Alex trebek to amy winehouse. She may have been a great person. Besides the music I didn’t hear of much philanthropy or whatever. I heard she gad an eating disorder and drank a whole lot of alcohol. You can adore her all you want. I adore her music. She was a great artist. Pained. And I feel bad for her. I feel bad for lots of folks who are troubled and can’t seem to right the ship. I just don’t think if heaven is real these kinds of people go there. It’s a silly thing to argue or get mad about. It’s my opinion. There has to be rules on heaven.

What are the rules of heaven? Good person? Great music? Kind to animals? Kind to people? Does everyone get in? I’m a good person but I don’t think I’d go to heaven. I’ve done a lot of wrong. Maybe me being alive and fighting through the demons and turning those demons away to ultimately become a better person as life goes on changes my fate. Maybe that makes me worthy. I don’t think just because someone produced great music and was troubled deserves heaven. God liked back to black? Don’t be silly? We’re talking a made up nobody knows place also here.

If memory serves, this contestant thanked and credited Alex for helping him learn English. I watched this episode on GSN a few months back. It was touching for him to show love like that. RIP.
