This zip file 8k was downloaded to my iCloud? The file information indicates that it is Archive Utility App and it is to be use this application (Stationary Pad)to open all documents like this one.

Anyone know if this came from Apple due to the new Apple Creator Studio Apps? Is it safe to use?

I updated to macOS 27 and my library in the "Music" app stopped working. I have an M2 Ultra.

My library is very extensive and before macOS 27 it took a long time to open. Now, in addition to being slow, I can't play any disc. I have organized by playlist folder and inside these folders are the discs. Every time I press a disc, a window pops up with all the playlists in my library and no disc can be played.

Can someone give me information or how to solve it?

Hi, I noticed this issue after upgrading to macOS 27. I've been using two screen capture apps, shottr and https://snapzy.app/, and both seem to be affected by the OCR issue.

For Shottr, I noticed that OCR works the first few times after launching the app. But after that, I start getting an error saying that no text was detected in the selected area, even when there's clearly text there.

As for snapzy. Sometimes when I capture an area of the screen, no text is recognized at all, or it takes a really long time like 30 seconds for the OCR to process the text. After a while, it stops detecting text altogether and shows the error message: "Nothing was detected in the selected area."

1. I'm using the latest versions of both screen capture apps.

2. Screen recording and system audio recording are both enabled for both apps.

3 I've also tried restarting my Mac. Reinstall the app. Restarted the app.

I upgraded from macOS Ventura (v13.x) to macOS Golden Gate recently because of a computer upgrade from an old intel Mac to an Apple Silicon Mac.

Alas, it looks like the native driver for my laser printer, Brother HL-5250DN is no longer supported on macOS Golden Gate, and instead the OS is needing to use a Generic PCL driver. I checked the Brother website, but because this laser printer (an emulation Postscript printer using Brother's own BR-Script) is from 2007, they no longer update the software for it.

The problem with the Generic PCL driver is that it doesn't know that the printer can print in 1200 dpi (or another similar dpi called HQ1200). As such, I'm investigating if there are other solutions such that the full features of this printer can be used by my computer running macOS 27.

You'll notice too that the driver is a PCL language driver rather than Postscript (or emulated Postscript), so that itself is already a limitation.

Any tips? What can I try? I'm not in the market for a new printer as we don't print as much these days. This laser printer has been with us since 2007 and still running well!

Since I updated to macOS 27 in September, my MacBook keeps losing power from the charger while it's plugged in. The MagSafe light turns amber like normal, goes off after a few minutes, then comes back on. This never happened to me on macOS 26.

The power log (pmset -g log) shows the Mac switching to battery and back to the charger about 3 seconds later. Sometimes it does this a dozen times in a few minutes. Once it stayed on battery for 20 minutes while still plugged in. Yesterday I counted 27 drops, mostly in one afternoon.

Setup:

- MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro (MacBookPro18,3)

- macOS 27.0.1 (no newer update available)

- Apple 96W USB-C adapter with the MagSafe 3 cable

- Battery health 81%, 425 cycles

Things I've ruled out:

- It's not optimized battery charging or the 80% limit. Those pause charging, but the Mac stays on charger power. Mine actually switches to battery.

- The adapter delivers the full 94W while it's connected, and macOS reports no reason for not charging.

- Shutting down used to fix it for a while. Last time the drops came back within a minute of starting up.

Is anyone else seeing this on macOS 27? And if you are, does it also happen when you charge through USB-C instead of MagSafe?

Since update to macOS Golden Gate 27 some keys on Magic Keyboard are not working (m . l k j u i o 9 8 7). If I'm connecting the keyboard to other device, it's working fine.

The first time it was happened I was able to fix it with Bluetooth service reset and reconnect. But now after a while it came back and it's not fixable for me. I never had these problems before updating to Golden Gate.

Has anyone had this bug, where hitting the shortcut (Control+Cmd+Space Bar), the emoji menu will open. Before the update, it would work and whatever 'Enter' key I stroke to select an emoji from the menu(both of them, I use a full MagicKeyboard), it would work.

Now, after the update, the weirdest thing happens: it'll only select the emoji on the regular 'Enter' key, but not on my numeric 'Enter' key! 🤷🏻‍♂️

I know this will sound like a big 'so what? Use the regular one', but I'm a financial analyst and I'm always on my num pad and use that a lot.

I've tried restarting my M2 MacBook, shutting it down, on and off my keyboard, changed some settings directly on the emoji menu bar up on the top bar and nothing. So, I don't know if it's a MacOS 27 bug (it was working perfectly well on 26), or if it's my keyboard that's just not recognizing the emojis anymore on the num pad enter key.

*In addition, sometimes I can't even use the keyboard at all (arrows keys) to travel through the emojis anymore.

If anyone has been having that issue also or has a suggestion of what I could do to get it back, I'd greatly appreciate it! 🙏🏻

Apps which are not in focus are terminated or moved to background after few mins of inactivity. This happens irrespective of low power mode is enabled or not.

I don't wanna show the damn thing in fullscreen mode, but I don't have a choice because Apple's dropped the ball. With the exception of Siri, this OS is a poo pie that's made my experience as a Mac user worse. Get F'd.

Removed the original icon that comes from macOS with CMD+drag down from the menu, then enabled and configured the widget from "stat" application to my liking.
