The purpose of this post is to give an honest summary of the game in its current state and to encourage anyone who would want to play but think they cannot for whatever reason.

I have been playing this game regularly for about a month now after not playing for years.

People complaining about hackers t-shot lobbies etc are over blowing things.

Really easy to resolve.

1. Search for lobby
   
2. Join lobby
   
3. If hacked / tshot / whatever just leave
   
4. repeat and once you are in a good lobby you are set for like 5 games at-least.

I have never had to repeat the process more than 3 times and usually get a good lobby first try.

Current modes that are playable:

TDM = find a game instantly. Almost all hacked lobbies live here but easy to rejoin quickly and find a good lobby.

Domination = Can find a game quickly anytime of day. almost never hacked lobby. Only downside is there are regulars who only noob toob and you frequently are placed in games with them. (I could name them but wont.)

Free for all = Can take 0-5 minutes to find a game but once you do absolutely no issues and is very fun.

Ground war = Can be spotty finding a game but when you do It is the best. Regular game and noob toobs are at a minimum. (the tubers like to live in domination)

There is also a bonus where you can get a GOOD hacked lobby in TDM search.

9 v 9 with a dedicated server (dummy xbox live account is host)

Wide variety of game modes and maps that are voted on after the game with usually 8 options to choose from. (recently have been playing headquarters pro which is a fun mode I never tried because of this.)

Not many tubers in these lobbies so far.

I send friend requests to the dummy accounts so I can join the lobby when it is being hosted. Just recently came across this so unsure of long term viability.

I have been playing straight on Xbox 360 (not via backwards compatibility)

The best modern warfare ever made!

Running into a lot of guys just having them out recently. No one cares about your clips on this game you’re pissing everyone off. Use a pistol like the rest of us and have some class.
Really hate the people that just spray you down with a Barrett close range or use m93s as a gtfotw gun. Means you’re probably impatient in real life and have no respect.

Shotguns same thing.

I've had the chance to meet Mr Craig Fairbrass this weekend at my local Comic Con!

What a nice guy to meet and talk to! He was extra grateful to anyone who came up to him with Modern Warfare Memorabilia since he was mainly marketed for his recent appearance in the live action One-Piece.

I just had to get my og copy of MW2 for the PC signed 😁

IW4L master server is up 24/7 at this point and the mod is very easy to install. We need more playtesters!

Checking 119 maps, 175 weapons and 74 attachments takes lots of time and effort. Any volunteers?

whats worse hacker wise I know ps3 you need mod menu for stats but I heard 360 has more security risks ? IDK which one

This is not talking cut maps, more you personally what would have liked to see?

What style, environment, size?

My ideas are maps like a Ski Resort, Shopping Mall, Metro Station

I compared playing on a phone with on a pc and the only difference was the controls and screen size, the phone could handle the highest graphics on 60fps consistency, showing how technology has came soo far

I made IW4 version for iOS

Hi all,
I've been messing around with [IW4L](https://github.com/vladtrc/iw4L), an open-source Rust/Bevy runtime that loads the original MW2 (2009) PC game data, and I got it running natively on iOS. I called it IW4 Pocket

What works
- Runs natively on iPhone (Rust + Bevy + wgpu on Metal), sideloaded with SideStore
- Boots, loads the game data and reaches the main menu
- Touch works as a mouse click in the menus
- PS4 (DualShock 4) controller works through Apple's GameController framework

What doesn't (yet)
- On my phone, loading a match map (`mp_rust`) still gets the app killed by iOS for using too much memory. iOS only grants it about 3 GB, even though the phone has 6 GB.

Update (v0.3.0)
- A contributor (u/treuenten) found the main cause: the game kept a copy of the loaded map that pinned every texture in memory twice. They also added support for compressed textures on newer GPUs. They report full matches with bots on an iPhone 17 Pro Max (6 GB granted to the app). I haven't confirmed that myself yet.
- The app now picks its memory settings by itself, based on how much memory iOS grants the phone (low / mid / high).
- I haven't tested whether `mp_rust` loads on my iPhone 13 Pro Max with this version. I'll report back.

What I'm asking: if you have an iPhone/iPad, please try it and tell me:
- your device and iOS version
- whether a map loads or it gets killed
- the `iw4l-boot.log` and `iw4l-memory-settings.txt` files (they're in the app folder in the Files app)

Learned 5 mins ago there's a Mario cart type speed boost for the 2 races in spec ops hit the gas as the countdown ends and you get this did anyone else know about this?
