The state of these questions: "Why were you so happy on Sunday?"

This is exactly WHY the fans are responding this way. Who are you to tell us how to act, how to feel, how to behave?

u/NoQuarterChicken 1d ago
Exactly. People LOVE be condescended to by virtue signaling, hypocritical twats
11
u/Malikkhan_msk 1d ago
Its hypocrisy but I think it's mostly online as well. Irl people do ridicule the 115 etc but they don't tell you to not celebrate a goal🤣

Jealousy is so ugly.
-38
u/SyLvAlOrD 1d ago
Like right? Other clubs can be jealous of our cheating as much as they want. Not every club can cheat as much as City and proudly defend the cheating and get away with it. Other clubs are so jelly.
26
u/Expert_Specialist_92 1d ago
Is your life so empty that you have to troll Reddit just to feel anything?
-35
u/SyLvAlOrD 1d ago
Troll? Please I’m not trolling. The trophies we won by cheating fills my life with joy so how can my life be empty? My life is enriched by the numerous achievements and trophies (which were won on the pitch by the way) which we won as a result of all the cheating. Morals and integrity be damned. I just want us to keep on cheating.

For most people, football is just something to enjoy in their spare time. But for you, it’s spending hours pretending to be a City fan on Reddit just to have a cry about us.
That’s beyond sad, I almost feel pity for you and hope things get better in your life.🙏

I’m a Bournemouth fan and this came up on my homepage. I don’t agree with what City have done, but the media response has been laughable. Was the expectation seriously that the City players would let Liverpool walk all over them in an apologetic manner? Did they expect the City fans not celebrate a historic battering of Liverpool at Anfield? More to the point, the final verdict and appeal process is still ongoing.
69
u/xenojive 1d ago
If you can't celebrate a win at one of the maddest grounds in football after a week where everyone wants you to get absolutely pumped, when can you?
14
u/modsuperstar 1d ago
I think to satisfy the pundits they all expected all the players and coaches should be in pillories and all the rival fans get to throw tomatoes at them.

u/Miserable_March_1829 1d ago
Nah, you guys don't understand. None of the players, managers and staff are supposed to be happy. They were supposed to be depressed over something the happened a decade ago. They should've just laid on the ground and let Liverpool score 20+ goals. In fact, Haaland should've gone to the away section and smacked every City fan on the face for showing up.
45
u/New-Diamond-3022 1d ago
The media would prefer Erling ran over to the corner flag and put a gun in his mouth after scoring ffs

God I fucking love Enzo, the way he’s handled media this season has been unreal
23
u/Shigney 1d ago
Absolutely. I had my doubts but he's been awesome so far. And then to pile this on top of him after replacing Pep. He's been fantastic.
5
u/PrimaryPain1853 1d ago
Blokes an absolute geezer, it’s a shame these charges are factually taking the shine of how well he’s done replacing Pep but hey ho
6
u/srbtiger5 1d ago
Yeah I'm not crazy about the club letting him be the guy taking all the heat right now but he's handling it well.
1
u/PrimaryPain1853 1d ago
Khaldoon should be the one coming out next, someone needs to be honest with the fans and explain this “irrefutable evidence”, until then all we can do is back the club I suppose..
44
u/Warm-Profit-775 1d ago
These “journalists” are simply salty rival fans who hide behind “professionalism”
21
u/TheFrenchKingofUK 1d ago
All this talk from rivals/media about City celebrating too much, being arrogant etc is laughable. You know what is arrogant? Demanding City fans should feel the way They tell us we should feel.
We enjoyed the ride up and everything we won along the way and if it comes to pass that we get relegated/points deductions/whatever They decide - you best bet that we will enjoy that ride too!

How dare they celebrate for beating another team!!! They should just wake up each day miserable! ThE AuDaCiTy!!!!

u/Signal_Resource517 1d ago
Honestly In the beginning I was like
"Man, fuck the bpl, their bias rules and nonsense, I can't believe they're literally trying to kneecap the club"
Now... Ohhhh I hope we go invincible this season, so that everyone and Jaime "I'd rather cheat and win, then not win." Carragher cry their eyes out
I hope we go invincible and then get relegated, just so we can crawl back up the leagues and shit on you hypocritical twats CTID

"We won 0-3 at Anfield"
An answer so obvious I was thinking it before the question ended and before gaffer said it. The media have been truly disgusting. Charges are from years ago and have nothing to do with current players and there's nothing current players can do about what comes next. Why are they supposed to be dour? Because the media told them they were supposed to be?
8
u/BabuFrikDroidsmith 1d ago
Feels like that in all areas of media now, always looking to tear everyone down to grab a headline and rage bait.
1
u/bingbangbus 1d ago
His laugh at the end of the answer there killed me though. “We win 0-3 at Anfield. Ha. Ha.”
16
u/Equal_Veterinarian22 1d ago
It's all part of the programme.
Talk to the average non-cartel football fan and they'll tell you FFP/PSR is a scam. It's completely transparent.
The cartel and their buddies are framing this as the greatest scandal in sporting history, up there with Lance Armstrong and Juventus bribing refs. They will keep telling us that, regardless of what anyone actually thinks, so that when they try to relegate us to the National League the public will think it's proportionate. And even if they fail, the PR damage will be irreversible.
This is the end game for them. We must be cast into the wilderness with no chance of return for a decade*. We must be an example to others. Then their future will be secured.

Is that all you have? Kinda embarrassing tbh.
1
u/kornephoros77 12h ago
Not really. The delusional victim post is another level embarrassing
1
u/TwentyBagTaylor 12h ago
Want to elaborate on those feelings of yours at any point, feel free. Its a forum after all. Going down a thread and just spamming one word retorts is 100% a cry for help.
1
u/kornephoros77 10h ago
Ah, you’re reading a bit too much into that and playing amateur doctor there! I actually just felt free to point out that the post was nonsense. I also feel free not to engage on a deeper level.
1
u/kornephoros77 9h ago
However. To summarize my critique. I and a lot of fans and almost all journalists have not gone after City for the years these investigations have been ongoing, and any criticism has largely been directed at the obfuscation. Now that you’re guilty, no one, no one wants to hear or deserves to hear how you are the victims. It’s tone deaf and a delusional reality. I get it wasn’t the fans that did it, but have some humility.

u/TwentyBagTaylor 8h ago

Said it on another thread yesterday, but assuming these questions aren't just rival angry supporters masquerading as journalists and are genuinely sincere (which is a BIG assumption, I know)......
....I think alot of the disconnect comes from the fact that we as LOYAL City supporters by and large don't find accounting rule breaking to be morally wrong. The rival fans NEED to think of this rule breaking as morally indefensible in order to provide some levity for their own shitty football situations after the last 15ish years of City dominance. They see us having fun on Sunday at Anfield and trying to enjoy the ride (whatever tier of English football it may take us to) and they connect that laissez-faire attitude with us being flippant about something as dark as match fixing or bribes or something that WOULD be morally indefensible.
But if you were to explain to them in a vacuum the rules we are found guilty of breaking, taking football out of the equation as well as taking out their own allegiances, I think that the majority would agree with us that "it's wrong to break rules, but these rules were bullshit so it's not MORALLY bad".
EDIT: That's not even getting into the fact that these guilty charges are from nearly a decade ago and no players or coaching staff on the team right now were there back then. Maybe 14 year old Foden or something
1
u/Enough-Programmer738 1d ago
No one cares that you're enjoying your club winning. It's how you got to winning. The fact that you circumnavigated the rules and spent $800 million over nine years cooking the books to get to the ability to spend recklessly is the point.
If you had earned it fair and square, then nobody can be complaining. They can hate you for being jealous, but you created a club out of a fragile, fraudulent foundation. Whether you agree with the rules or not isn't up for debate. It's that they're there, you got caught, and now you're claiming that they shouldn't exist.
That's like me speeding and going, "Well, my car can handle the speed just because yours can't, that's not my problem." They should change the rules.
2
u/theband65 1d ago
Your analogy is flawed. The reality is more like "City's speed limit is 50, United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool's is 85......City were caught going 85 while Arsenal Liverpool and United were coasting along at 75???? City went 35 more than they're allowed to go!!! How can they celebrate with those smug smiles."
Sure we went over the speed limit and should be punished, but the imbalance of FFP means that we do not care about showing any sort of shame or self-flagellation for the benefit of rival fans.
And I'd argue that based on the pundit and some fan reactions to our away fans and players on Sunday, a lot of people care that we're enjoying our club winning.
1
u/Embarrassed-Buddy-81 3h ago
Why are we looking at other clubs. You are adults. Dont start pointing fingers cause you got caught. Now city fans wanna start snitching cause they got caught. There very well may be more illegal stuff but guess what..............those teams have not been caught slipping like city which is a big L. Like children in a school when they get caught lol
1
u/theband65 3h ago
Because talking about other clubs’ financial allowances vs City’s explains the context of why we don’t care about the morality of our rule breaking.
I’ve not once said that we shouldn’t be punished. It’s just that we don’t care we broke unfair rules.
1
u/Enough-Programmer738 1d ago
Where's the proof? Allegations without evidence is slander. You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting.
1
u/theband65 14h ago
What are you talking about? The proof of my analogy is the way the rules are written. Are you responding to the right comments because both times you're reacting to what you want to hear rather than what i'm saying.

u/BillehBear 1d ago
comical how much it's been overblown lmaooo
fact is city fans had been getting constant stick since the verdict dropped for a solid 2 weeks, being told get ready for a hostile environment and anfield will truly show them how they feel
roll onto the game, they get stick back from city fans (rightfully so) and the squad fucking batters liverpool in their own back yard? no shit we're going be ranting and raving about it

What a moronic question - has to be from Liverpool media ? Imagine how they would have reacted if they'd taken down the Cheetahs 😉

im appaled that my manager did not beat himself with the stick of shame in front of the kop, im ashamed he did not get down on his knees in the middle of the pitch and beg for mercy and forgivness alongside the players, who shouldnt have returned to the club after international break.

Honestly, at this point, I want our players to just be unbearable whenever we score if we are playing one of the clubs in the red cartel
I wish we had been more unbearable versus Liverpool

Maresca should have answered in Italian. If the media person would have replied that he did not understand, Maresca should have just said "Exactly, my friend".

He's so baffled I love him. Never seen city so solid defensively under pep (that's a lie but I'd rather the defence under maresca).

I wish I could have a glimpse of the changing room dynamics after he says that at the end. I bet they went wild!

u/DaMancunianCandidate 1d ago
Maresca is literally the perfect person to be our gaffer atm. Cool as a cucumber and making the journalists sound like divs for asking such stupid shit.
Everyone wants us to grovel to them. Fuck em. I'm not happy with our owners but all this noise is making me more defensive of our club than ever.

Not everyone. I never police celebrations.
I said it all last season, people need to give over this chat about "boring set piece Arsenal" the trophy says "Premier League Champions: Arsenal" it doesn't say "Gabriel header park the bus Arsenal"
And fair enough you go that long without winning the league their fans just wanted their name on the trophy, doesn't matter how it they played.

Didn’t you guys know? City Players, coaching staff, and fans were supposed to show up, let Liverpool win, and sing songs for 90 minutes about how sorry they are
