Quick example of the absolute nonsense NBC was peddling to US viewers this past Sunday morning before kick-off.

Really disappointing from Rebecca Lowe here.

Rebecca “absolutely fine that my goalie wasn’t sent off in the FA Cup Final because it means we won a trophy” Lowe?

I got a kick out of Robbie Earle being all high and mighty. The only reason he’s on US telly is he got fired by the BBC for scalping his free World Cup tickets in 2010

If anything, at the least, from all this we can figure out the public personas who are there only for the fame so that they can be avoided

Everyone has a boss and a narrative to follow. They need to sell views and keeping the flame of hate going. Our team is going to use this as motivation

My favorite part is her saying “The Liverpool fans are being held back by Merseyside police” and the camera pans to 3 lines of scousers just standing there, not even yelling or pointing

After the match, too. Tim Howard wasn't letting the shaming go for two seconds.

Tim is only there for fan service. He’s genuinely woeful

I didn't realize how... basic his assessment was gonna be.

Yeah I noticed that too. But who cares what a 3rd tier goalie has to say. What has he done in his career?! 😂

I get the sentiment because he’s dreadful as a pundit, but calling him a 3rd tier keeper is simply inaccurate.

He legitimately looked like he was going to cry.

“This is something we haven’t seen since the 80s” and it’s just a bunch of fans walking to the stadium together

The whole broadcast was insufferable.

They are gonna get the ESPN treatment from me- watch the games and absolutely nothing else. I knew it would be bad, turned it on right at 11:30. Immediately muted it when it ended.

I watched on Sky and I assumed the pregame would be finger wagging, holier than thou bullshit but the in game commentary from Neville, Carraghar, and Drury was absurd as well - can't imagine how unhinged the pre and post game must have been. Especially once City started ripping into 10 man Liverpool the commentary was atrocious. Neville said something like "good goal, bad goal for the game" when Doku scored. He then said "the played may be signed with improper funds but they are good players" when Cherki scored. All in a defeated tone like it was a funeral.

If there was ever in me sympathy or conciliation with rival fans feeling wronged by our supposed financial misdeeds, I couldn't give a shit now. I just hoped the appeal would prove us right. But at this point fuck them all whether we prove innocence or not. I hope we batter every team and rub it in their faces if they can't let a minute go by even mid game without trying to talk down the team, players, fans that have nothing to do with this back room accounting minutia bullshit that defines how sports operate now. Journalists asking how Maresca felt about players and fans celebrating "too much" after the win last weekend... Fuck the hell off lol.

This ∆ Tim Howard really disappointed with his absurd "smug smiles" comment. He was a player. He knows they spend their whole lives being taught to ignore the noise and play ⚽ football. What the fuck are they supposed to do? What an asshole. I was fully on board with the "we fucked up and we'll take our lumps mentality" But it's getting really hard to listen to this bullshit

Enjoy it lad, may as well.

The Goldbridge clip for Cherki's goal is almost as good as the goal itself.

This is how I’m feeling now. I was pretty despairing two weeks ago but after the endless snideness and completely uncalled-for attacks on the players and fans I’m fast becoming belligerent about it all. If the media and opposing fans weren’t being such insufferable assholes about it, with huge dollops of hypocrisy thrown in, I’d be much more circumspect but WTAF do they expect when they just attack me, my friends, my club, my memories? My initial humility over it all is fast becoming a hacks-to-the-wall siege mentality.

I cancelled Peacock and Youtube TV before this. Piracy for me from now.

Welcome aboard the good ship Dillagaf. There's cookies in the breakroom.

Peacock doesn't even show most of the games anyways. It's a worthless platform if you're trying to watch the premier league

Someone needs to compile a list of all these so-called pundits who have abandoned all impartiality and chosen to deride our club with outright contempt and vitriol.

u/Shempisback 1d ago

For what reason?

Let it go dude just enjoy the hate

u/Mizzyaxp 1d ago

I'm with you Shemp. I'm not angered or saddened by any of it, it just makes me laugh.

Others are muting the talking heads, but i'm turning the volume UP.

They were terrible during the world cup too.

Oh man the best was the announcer saying “this result doesn’t really matter” as Cherki sat Frimpong on his ass and slotted home. It was absolute poetry

was at a bar for the match where the city fans were louder than the broadcast so i didn't hear much, but I remember in the post game mentioning to my buddy that the Peacock post game panel looked like they were legit on the brink of tearing up lmao
