I’ve spent the last few years making low-poly models of the humble cars I grew up with in northern China and posting them on Instagram (boxy.poly): mini trucks, microvans, boxy taxis.
Eventually I wanted to actually drive them, so I’m turning them into a driving game set on the streets of my childhood. You haul watermelons that roll off if you take a corner too fast, keep taxi passengers happy, squeeze a bus down narrow streets, and chase down criminals in the underpowered police hatchback.
It’s called SHIFU: Traffic Masters and the free demo just came out on Steam (link in the comments). What humble workhorse would you want to see next?

Hello, I'm Chris (Christophocles). I'm a 3D artist and musician working on a surreal, low-poly sci-fi ghost story called “Pitch was the Night”
The Story:
The film focuses on a lone astronaut at the edge of the universe, aboard a derelict science experiment. A lush garden lab known as “The Arboretum” is this astronaut's last connection to a planet he’s never lived on. A chance encounter sends him spiraling into the haunted interior of his dying ship.
Visuals & Audio:
I've always been drawn to late 90s PS1/N64 graphics, so I'm pairing low-poly modeling with modern volumetric fog and lighting in Blender/Unreal Engine to create an eerie, liminal vibe. I did all of the modeling, lighting and story writing myself as well.
Follow Along:
I share regular devlogs and WIP updates on Discord. Check out some more teasers or follow along to stay up to date:

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the lighting and atmosphere!

Bonus points if you can guess the three real-world liveries I'm ripping off.
I modeled it and painted all the base textures in Blender, then used Photopea for adding text and overlaying the baked ambient occlusion. These are screencaps from inside the Unity game with a toon shader I half wrote, half cannibalized the official Unity toon shader package for.

Blender scene we put together whilst working on our PSX-ish survival horror game, mainly to test the character rigs and get a feel for the atmosphere.

been having trouble getting inspired lately so I've been using gaia online avatars as inspiration lol. I like how this one came out! textures were all done in aseprite
edit: I don't know why some of these look so crunchy on mobile, I'm so sorry! they looked fine on my PC 😭

The first clip is the original video by onca_yt, and the second is my recreation in Blender. This is purely a study exercise: I’m trying to understand how 3D animation works as “YouTube language” (the pacing, framing, and visual shorthand that make this style so effective).

Hey! We've been working on Hexplorando since last year, and just revealed our new trailer.
So of course, the style and gameplay are quite similar to Dorfromantik, but the main difference is that you rebuild actual real-world locations through puzzles all around the world. Then you unlock iconic international landmarks, and you can use them in your own creations in Sandbox Mode.
The Nintendo eShop page will be available soon, but feel free to wishlist the game on Steam if you'd like to support our project!

I gave myself a challenge to make some common sports balls with as low of a tri count and texture resolution as possible. I had been struggling with unwrapping and texturing low res spheres so it was good practice. All of the balls are 80 tri spheres except the soccer ball which is a 116 tri truncated icosahedron. All textures are 32x32.
I'm thinking of continuing with this and making a free pack of various sports equipment and props. If this is something anyone would be interested in please let me know and comment what you'd like to see included!
all meshes have accurate real world dimensions but are scaled in the image for detail

Not sure if this is properly low poly enough because some of the pipes are pretty rounded, but the car body itself is pretty low poly.
