Not just part. The setup to the joke was about how women fear him in the woods. He likened the shorts to bait meant to lure predatory fish. He called his sisters “fat bitches.” The whole set was problematic in addition to just being unfunny.

He needed to workshop that set a little more outside of Austin. Just felt lazy to me.

He likened the shorts to bait meant to lure predatory fish.

LOL, he said the shorts were the color of artificial lures. Like they were bright pinks and yellows, the same color that lures are to attract fish. You are just making up things in your head to ragebait yourself now

And he said he looked like a lesbian, and he said fixing his hair in a certain way is gay, etc. Also the joke about running across a woman on a trail was so poorly setup and he kept trying to imply the punchline to like, zero reaction. Painful lol.

“Lesbians ugly” is truly a groundbreaking punchline in the year of our lord 2026, really top-notch shit that’s never been done before Shane /s

I'm surprised the lesbian part isn't the one that got backlash because that one is like, the least defensible. At least with the whole "whores" and "fat bitch sisters" things, those weren't actually the punchline. "I look like a lesbian" just... was the joke. It's the laziest part of that whole set.

For the first one, that is incredibly relatable for a lot of guys and he's far from the first one to make that observation.

I go for a walks around the block in the evening and whenever I pass a woman on her own I always try to appear non-threatening as possible because I KNOW how I would feel as a woman walking by myself in the dark.

He bombed telling it but I don't see that as problematic.

Him calling his sisters fat bitches? Ehh. That sounds like siblings fucking with each other, not sexism. Borderline.

Then doesn't he end it all with him just absolutely ragging on his fat ass self? Like all this shit seems completely blown up for no fucking reason. The monologue got like a small chuckle out of me, it wasn't great, but this reaction is just fucking stupid.

I'm not going to defend every line he said. I think some gym outfits push the boundaries of good taste but I also didn't find his joke funny.

But overall, it does seem like people made much ado about little.

Your last point is spot on. He's talked quite a bit about how they used to beat the shit out of him and bully him(them calling him bitch hips while he was laying on his side as a teen is kind of hilarious). Their dad did the same to the whole family, including the physical part. It was very normalized in their household.

You’re not a woman so no, you don’t know how it truly feels.

Here's your missing the fucking point award.

I know my wife won't go for walks by herself after dark. I know how scared I was to go out by myself for years after I got jumped walking to a friend's house.

Using this information, I can make a reasonable assumption that "scared" is how most people would feel if their gender was commonly targeted for violence.

Now go away.

Man who thinks it’s ok to call women bitches and whores thinks he can pretend to know what it feels like for a woman to be truly afraid of men.

Person with reading comprehension issues is overly aggressive and misses the point.

I never said either, thanks. And I said I know that I would be scared. Now take your soapbox and fuck off.

You know everything that’s posted to Reddit isn’t posted by the same person right? When did u/RebootDarkwingDuck say it was ok to call women bitches and whores?

The whole set was problematic in addition to just being unfunny.

I don't see anything "problematic" about.

I think the problem for you is you don't like not being the target audience, which really is a you problem.

3

u/kernpops868 9h ago

You’re right, target audience and butt of the joke are two different groups.

Damn you really don’t understand jokes. How was the woods bit about women fearing him, it was about awkward situations and not knowing what to do. And who hasn’t made fun of their siblings before, fat bitches was followed by how his sisters used to pick on him.

3

u/kernpops868 9h ago

I understand jokes, this one just wasn’t funny.

Taken in a vacuum, that joke could simply be unfunny but not problematic, but given the context of the rest of the monologue, it takes on a different color.

2

u/WolfGangSwizle 9h ago

Not finding it funny is fine, that’s a perfectly okay opinion. Completely changing the context of the joke to make it sound problematic is different. That clearly isn’t what the woods joke meant and you know that but you’re trying to add fuel to the fire.

3

u/kernpops868 9h ago

I didn’t change the context at all, I’m just considering it. Like I said, in a vacuum, that joke is not so bad. Unfortunately he didn’t tell it in a vacuum, he followed it with a lot of other questionable shit that, when taken all together, paints a pretty unfavorable picture for him.

u/WolfGangSwizle 8h ago

You 100% changed the context, nothing he said that followed implied women fearing him in the woods. You just want to make it seem that way.

problematic

You people are miserable

u/deskcord 5h ago

The actual entire joke was him being creepy and a problem. Ya'll just didn't watch it.

I thought it was unfunny but the freak out here is so many people telling on themselves.
