Jesus christ.
I have to assume a lot of that routine was like...a bet from the Austin comedy guys or something?
There's no way he thought "girls dress like whores nowadays" jokes and Joe Rogan/Theo Von anecdotes would do well here.

u/Imaletyoufinish_but 4d ago
I love that it was the Green Eggs and Ham sketch that got the F bomb dropped.

The HVAC ad was spot on. The guy that was sent to my mom's house to diagnose the furnace was polite and clean cut. The guys who came to install it were muddy and reeked of smoke. Took days for my house to air out (in the middle of winter) and the rug needed scrubbing

u/pink_faerie_kitten 3d ago
Weekend Update showed some teeth tonight. Much improved from the milquetoast, stale jokes of last week. They were mean and they mentioned the Nazi looking influence of the new pentagon logo. Really good and funny.

JAJ is 100% this cast's Phil Hartman. The man is a fucking chameleon. Top tier impressionist and phenomenal character work. And super professional and hardly ever breaks!

I think everyone is wrong about the f bomb. SNL isnt gonna get in actual trouble, they'll pay a ridiculously affordable fine and the clip will go viral on social media. That F Bomb is nothing but an overall benefit for SNL

A sketch about the origin of the term "Sneakers" is a good idea and feels more like something that would be on a Bargatze hosted episode since he typically writes actual witty standup material like that.
So it seemed weird for this to be a Gillis sketch... and then it became a sketch about something else... So it did make sense after all.

I tuned in for Shane, never heard of Rosalia. She's really good. Reminds recently when Olivia Rodrigo was on and I was like "all the kids like her, I'll see what's up instead of skipping" and thought her live performance was better than the studio recording of whatever that song was where she was at the table.
