Hello, all!

Last year, I asked this group for library cards from libraries all over the United States to help us with our town's annual holiday event -- we used them as ornaments to decorate a Christmas tree, and it was really well received by patrons and townspeople. We are doing it again!! We hope to get cards from more libraries, if you'd like to help us out. We also set up a lovely display for Library Card Sign-up Month. The town event is December 13, so we'd love to have them by Friday, December 4 at the latest.

Are providence public library cards different than the rest of the state cards? I’m in RI and we’re a statewide system, and I know my little suburban library card is an “ocean state” one, but it’s been a minute since I lived in providence and had their card.

Also, petition to get you to drop that list in spreadsheet software of your choice and alphabetize it. That’s a lot of info for it to not be categorized in any way. Maybe adding a state would be helpful.

I'm not sure about the Providence card vs. the rest of the state -- I believe it says Providence Public Library on it. And I did drop it in from a spreadsheet, alphabetized by state in the third column! I'm not sure why it isn't showing for you. I'm on a laptop as opposed to a phone -- perhaps that's the issue? I promise, it is organized! 👀

as a librarian in the state: the PPL cards are indeed different looking than the OSL(Ocean State Libraries) cards. They function exactly the same, but the PPL ones and some others have a cooler design on the back. It's unfortunately not in the budget for most libraries in the state, so we get the plain OSL logo cards instead. I'll have to send one so you have the default one too!

Awesome! It’s been over a decade since I actually lived in providence and I didn’t remember ppl having a different card, but thats on me.

Their branding actually exists compared to most other libraries in RI, so I’m not surprised they got their own cards.

Wait hold up and pause. Do you not have NYC cards?? I saw this last year but assumed you’d already have them! I can get you NYPL, QPL, and BPL cards if not.
