Hello everyone!

I'm an international student from Asia and moved to Leuven last month. Like most international students here, my student visa type D is only valid until December. I did the necessary steps for getting my residence permit and collected my Annex 15 last October 1.

Here's the problem-- my family wants me to fly home mid-December, but I'm worried that I won't get my residence permit in time. I understand that the police check takes a while, but it states in the Leuven website that getting an invitation to set an appointment for the residence card can take up to 2 months which cuts it pretty close to mid-December. I cannot leave the country with an expired visa and annex 15, I really need my residence permit/card from Leuven by then.

I'd like to know for anyone else that's gone through the same thing, what was the general timeline and how long did it take to get your residence permit?

I've been training karate for years and competed in kumite (WKF rules). I've joined the University club but that's more so traditional training and I'm really keen to train kumite once a week or so especially as I saw theres a competition in November that I might potentially do but idk yet.

This club have said they have kumite training on Thursdays and I'm keen to try but at my old club everyone just borrowed the pads for the year and at this club you have to buy them first.

I'm more than happy to do that but I am kind of concerned that I'll buy the kit, not like the session and then have bought the kit and not have anywhere to train with it

Hey im 19M, haven't played football in years so I'm a bit rusty but with the recent WC I want to get back into the sport, I want to play competitive however it seems that a lot of the clubs are already full now, I was wondering if anyone here could help with that? Would love to join a club but at this point I'll settle for anything to just play. My first language is English but I can speak decent Dutch as well, thanks in advance!

I was wondering if there are any good Halloween events for families or young teens? Is there a good place to trick or treat? I know the International House has something going on, but they are full (and the kid's party is for smaller kids than I have), but I would love other ideas!

Ik kom regelmatig langs deze muur aan het skatepark aan de Casablanca buurt in Leuven. Ik had altijd het gevoel dat dit beter kon, dus aan de stad Leuven gevraagd of daar een nieuwe graffiti tekening op mocht. Heeft even geduurd, maar ondertussen hebben we de officiële goedkeuring van de stad en daarom zijn we op zoek naar een graffiti kunstenaar. De bedoeling is om een coole graffiti tekening te zetten die past bij een skatepark en ook aansluit bij de multiculturele Casablanca buurt. Als je iemand kent die hiermee kan helpen, laat maar horen. Alle tips zijn welkom.

Hei, I am looking for a badminton session during 19-23 Oct 2026 as because I am on business trip in Leuven. I do not have sportcard. I thought of joining the KU Leuven that is availabe on Thursdays night but they require sport card during online booking. Anyone knows any group playing in Leuven (only evening). I am intermediate level. Thanks !

My Sony XM6 headphones got wet and now they aren’t working. 🥹
On the day they got wet I tried them and they were working, but after leaving them to dry for a few days, they won’t turn on anymore.
Does anyone know a good shop in Leuven that can fix water-damaged headphones? Any recommendations would be really appreciated! 🥺
