Im having a bit of trouble with a few words and constructions in this
குமரி இருட்டு - some sort of darkness?

மின்னஞ்சல் & தொலைநகல் ?

தூக்கக் கலக்கத்திலிருந்த காவல் நிலையங்களின் எழுதுவினைஞர்கள் எழுந்த சோம்பலாகக் குறிப்புகளை எடுக்க தொடங்கினர்கள் =??= from the distress which had arisen, the எழுதுவினைஞர்கள் of the police/guard stations, got up and lazily started to take the messages (sorry, my very quick attempt of translating fairly literally)

The sleepy station writers (police stations have a person responsible for record keeping) woke up and started lazily taking notes.
