About the Game:
Within the rules of the game, everybody has limited GM powers to shape the world and story, players can fully overrule me as a core mechanic. That makes telling a good story instead of trying to 'win' or powergame a important skill. A skill often found in people with prior GM experience

The game is based on a vocabulary of magic words of power, in this oneshot you will be tasked with finding words of power, combine them into spells, deal with the fallout of whatever random spell you just incanted, keep notes, test your theories of what a word of power might actually mean, create a new spell to test that theory and learn that you were hilariously wrong.

There are no classes, no feats, and skills are freeform (think daggerheart if you are familiar), creating a char from concept to play-ready literally takes less than five minutes.

This is a beta test of not only my rule system, but also a purpose built website I created to play it on. There will be bugs. There will be missing rules for things I haven't thought of. Cope.

I would like to start a new campaign in a new setting, heavily inspired by the asthetics and lore fragments of Elden Ring but still my/our own and without any burden of having to know anything about the original game. I´ll introduce you to the basic setting, events and cultures/groups/deities. Some of that lore reflavors, but does not affect the mechanics of, the spellcasting classes. In terms of actual game mechanics, we would play with the following additions/restrictions:

I’m looking for 3-4 players for a long-term campaign set in a homebrew world inspired by old Sword & Sorcery books (Moorcock, Howard), Lovecraftian horror and the history of the Islamic world and the Eurasian steppe. We will be using an indie OSR system called the Black Sword Hack (SRD). The campaign will run every other week on a fixed week night (Monday, Tuesday or Thursday evening from 19h30-23h GMT+1, to be determined when we form the group).

What kind of players am I looking for? 

I’m looking for 3-4 players who are 21+ and who are above all interested in storytelling and roleplay. I’m hoping to run a serious, more realistic campaign with real consequences and dangers. There will be mature themes and elements of horror. While we will use the consent questionnaire to ensure everyone has a good time at the table, this campaign is probably not a good fit for people who prefer not to engage with darker themes. 

I’m looking for players who want to engage with the world and become a part of its moral, cultural and relational universe. Players who understand that failure is often a better story than success, and who are not afraid to roll the dice and take a risk when it would improve the story. If you like Greek tragedies and weird mythology, then this might be the right campaign for you. 

As the introductory blurb suggests your character will start in a state of near total amnesia. The overarching story of the campaign lets you uncover your past and decide what to do with that knowledge. This means you will not be creating your own backstory for your character - this is not the right campaign for you if you are unwilling to wholeheartedly buy into the premise.

• This campaign will run every other week. On the off-week, we can potentially play a different game if someone else feels called to DM it.

I am running a campaign set upon the Dragon Isles between the events of Dragonflight and The War Within expansions of World of Wacraft with the main focus of the campaign being the titular academy and life of the first group of students that attend it post its reactivation. A magical school that aims to educate a new generation of future adventurers and protectors of the world while also not so secretly working on networking them through shared burdens and success.

Due to nature of this campaign it is aimed at young characters that did not experience much fighting and personal struggle. This is not a campaign for characters that carry excessive bagage of personal trauma and due to Academy's curriculum, characters that wish to delve into darker forms of power are a poor fit.

The Party:
Kelmarin - A Sin'dorei from a noble house finally getting to live beyond the control of his family and getting to practice skills he wanted to put to a test but rarely had a chance to do so. Also learning that snow of Azure Span is deep and does in fact suck to walk across... Things that being born in realm of eternal summer does to you.

Nimera - A Kaldorei full of whimsy in her head and lacking concrete idea what to do with her life. Now she finds herself in a land of fairytales and stories she spent her childhood listening and writes her own.. While also experiencing very healthy levels of adoration towards a certain dragon.

Varesia - A local, a harpy. Stepping out of her small world and learning just how bigger the world out there truly is. Battling her own insecurities and dealing with powers beyond her control. And learning through example the veneration is not the only way of treating with the elementals. She will be a joy to behold when Algeth'ar's open air theather opens up...

The current group has managed to survive the first semester but due to out of game situation only three of them remain and I am looking to bolster them with fresh blood.

Worldbuilding Information

In this reality, Karsus managed to complete the 13th spell and replace Mystra as the new deity of Magic. In his efforts to grasp the entirety of the weave and use its power for his own goals, he irreparably altered the fabric of reality and the Forgotten realms as a whole. As a result, there’s areas of the world where the Weave has been destroyed entirely and magic rendered unreachable, as well as areas where the invisible fabric has folded onto itself, turning spells multiple times as powerful.

And as Karsus pulled the weave towards the prime material plane using his new authority, all the other worlds crushed against it violently, creating new portals and pathways between them that mortals can use to traverse between worlds. In the overlap created by those violent collisions lies the demiplane of Honorhold, a link between Avernus and the Prime material Plane. For centuries after Karsus’ ascension to godhood, the many races that inhabit this small world have taken up the holy duty of protecting the gate towards the prime material plane from the powers of all the nine hells and the demons of the abyss. Ancient magical walls erected for that same purpose form a hexagon around it. Six great cities, one at each point, fight off against the invading threats daily.

Every creature in Honorhold carries a magical birthmark somewhere on its body, which starts off as a simple circle. But as the carrier of this tattoo acts to benefit Honorhold or its people, it slowly grows to completion, until it depicts a sun with six rays. Then, the creature is considered free of its duties and can retire to a more peaceful life in one of the upper planes it has spent its life protecting.

Cities of Honorhold and most prevalent races in them

1. Zidaria - Orcs and Dragonborn - A fort city that hosts almost the entirety of Honorhold's standing army. It is the town closest to Avernus and the frontline of war, and throughout the years has borne the weight of war to protect Orazka and Honorhold as a whole.
2. Sunlapse - Humans - A city dedicated to trade and missionary work. This is where you'll find agricultural and commercial companies, adventuring guilds and soldiers for hire.
3. Irondorn - Dwarves and Gnomes - The power responsible for excavating Honorhold's mineral resources, as well as putting them to good use in creating weapons and armor of excellent quality. Has well established trade networks with other cities.
4. Lianshu - Genasi and Vedalken - The center of innovation in honorhold, home of many arcane scholars, philosophers, librarians and inventors. Iretorian, Honorhold's most recognised university has been erected here.
5. Anistria - Elves and Drows - Under the control of Marvus Albas' silver spears and serving as their base of operation, Anistria acts as a law and peace keeping entity within Honorhold. In a pinch, it can provide trained reserve soldiers to join the front ranks.
6. Fieftra - Tiefling and Yuan Ti - A gathering point of every sin and eartly delight for soldiers that need to unwind during their leave. It is filled with opportunists, card players, and druglords. Despite its nature and proximity to Avernus, the local authority rules with an iron fist, tolerating no crime that would constitute a threat to Honorhold as a whole. Some of the best spies in honorhold come from here.
7. Orazka - All Races - The capital of Honorhold, as well as the last defence of the gate that leads to the Prime Material Plane, which is located here. Marvus Alba, the demiplane's eternal emperor coordinates and regulate all major and minor cities in the fight against the hells from the imperial palace at the center of the city.

For nearly two centuries as soon as the sun disappeared behind the horizon terrible sandstorms would rip across the land. Any caught beyond their villages and towns were seldom found again as the cutting sands and what terrible creatures lived within left little trace. Most simply coward within their homes hoping for morning to come while others venerated the Lady of the Desert whom they blame for the storms. 

However, just two years ago the storms stopped. Night after night only gentle winds brushed against dunes. Yes people remained for fear of their return. Eventually, though, a few brave souls began venturing forth finding ruins of a once prosperous nation along with what few settlements remain intact. Those that fared better took to establishing trade with others or scrambling armies to conquer their neighbours out of mixture of  fear and jealousy.

Now you find yourself as part of a caravan rubbing shoulders with vagrants, those looking to escape their hometowns, and priests alike. The scuttling beast upon which you ride inside a simple wooden covering drifts carefully across sand below the beating sun.

Hope the above caught your attention. It is more to give a small background to the setting and writing sample, not necessarily how we begin. As the title says I am looking for a player interested in a 1-on-1 game. Someone who is somewhat literate, meaning able to write more than 1-2 lines per response with a few responses a day being preferable (though I understand life can get busy and comes first of course).

While I have something of a plot in mind I like to run more of a sandbox style game offering various quests and scenarios so you are able to interact with the world as you like. Additionally, a 1-on-1 game gives plenty more room for your character so we can alter the story to fit more with your character idea.

"Death House" is the name given to an old row house in the village of the titular Barovia. The house has been burned to the ground many times, only to rise from the ashes time and again—by its own will or that of a darker force. Locals give the building a wide berth for fear of antagonizing the evil spirits believed to haunt it.

We’ll be running Death House as an introductory adventure (no peeking!) and to welcome in the Autumn full swing. I’m specifically looking for an additional veteran of DnD as a player, but to fill the remaining slots with beginners or absolute new people to the game. Hi, I’m CoffeeandCantrips, I’ve got a longer bio profile on a few of the group-finding websites, but in short - I’m a long term player and DM for DnD and other systems (think, 3.5 era, 10+ years on-and-off casual play). I’ve written adventurers, ran long-term campaigns, multiple one-shots, run by the book, heavily improvised, homebrew ect.

I'm more recently trying to build on a little side-project of which this is a part. The main point is; I absolutely adore introducing people to the hobby and want to try and provide the best opportunity I can to facilitate that. - Level 2.

- Modified Elite Array for attributes: 16, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8

- Base origins and species, or races and backgrounds; if you’re wanting anything off-menu then get in touch. Character brief; standard high-fantasy Faerun/Sword Coast adventurer, but think of reasons or motivations they may have to be in the Demiplane of Dread.

- Standard equipment, as by the character creation; slight reasonable edits for a character who may have finished one quest may be okay.

- No homebrew/third party.

- You must consider a curse for your character. Either something thematic and flavourful, a plot hook OR something mechanical for the rules; something that makes this run non-standard.

- You must consider a quick, brief, introduction scene for us to play-out (think, 5 minutes or less) and share with the party prior to the adventure, as a little warm-up and to give the party an insight into the character.

ok so this is an emergency post as a player dropped out the day before session 0 so we only have 3 players. Games will be hosted on Tuesdays at 9PM BST. It will be set in an original location of the isle of Auonar. A village similar to berk however it's been an island of dragon riders for about 200 years though for the last 100 years it's been a solitary society. The campaign will have the same dragons and aesthetics as the original httyd however is not set in the same universe so don't expect any of the characters to show up.

Story summary:
Whether through choice or because you've got nowhere else to go, you have been selected as a member of the next group of dragon riders. You will be among the small minority within the village who are allowed to ride beyond the horizon. Though you're simply new trainees so you doubt you'll get to do that for another month, year who knows. But when the current dragon riders are gone and something is coming over the horizon you may be the only ones there to stop it.

Hi, folks, looking for 2 or 3 players to join an existing group, starting around the 12th of January 2027, once we complete our Star Trek Adventures campaign. LGBTQIA+ friendly.

It will be a mix of in person and online, in person will be at the Last Outpost comics in the Forge shopping centre, starting between 6 and 7 and finishing no later than half 9, if it's online it will be between half 6 to half 7 start and finish no later than half 10. The mix of in person and online is due to my work schedule.

I'm looking for 5 to join a long-term D&D 5.5e campaign, played weekly on Sundays at 5 PM UK time (GMT/BST).

Now, there's something a little different about this campaign: it doesn't actually have a setting or premise yet!

Rather than coming up with an entire campaign on my own and asking players to join it, I want to create something tailored to the group.

So, how will this work?

First, I'll be selecting players through an application form. Once the group is assembled, everyone will complete a more comprehensive questionnaire about their campaign preferences. We'll cover things like genres, themes, setting, difficulty, character death, mechanical rules, and much more.

I'll then use everyone's answers to develop the campaign concepts combining different aspects of what the group enjoys. We'll discuss them together and choose which one seems the most fitting.

Details?

While much of the campaign is undecided, there are a few things I already know:

- System: D&D 5.5e/5e 2024

- Fish-out-of-water experiences. This is something I really want to explore. Whether you're outsiders in an unfamiliar culture, discovering a strange world, or being thrown into circumstances you barely understand, I want discovery and learning to be meaningful parts of the experience.

- Homebrew: I actively encourage homebrew and third-party material! Subclasses, species, spells, feats, and other creations are welcome for consideration, subject to approval. Full homebrew classes are the only major exception.

- Players: 6 total.

- Platforms: Discord and Foundry. You will need a decent PC.

- Experience Level: Any! Beginners are welcome as well as experienced players.

The Forgotten Realms will be our default setting, though I'm also happy to adjust to the group's preferences. If you got this far, mention that you like frogs somewhere in the application.

Hi, I'm looking for a nice group of cool people to have me join their game.

A little bit about me as a player:

I'm a player that loves to get in character and immerse in RP while also enjoying the occasional cool combat (especially if it has narrative stakes) I make my characters complex individuals that can grow and change over an adventure and always like to link my characters to the GM's world and leave open hooks for my GM to use against them. As a GM myself I know the amount of work that goes into this thing and I always appreciate it.

I had a player drop out due to changing life responsibilities so I have a space available! So I am looking for 1 player to add to my group of 4. Sessions are weekly on Monday using FoundryVTT and Discord for audio.

The party is currently level 4 ( though shortly level 5) and have just finished the first story arc. The general theme of the game is episodic horror, going to an area, figuring out the issues and doing what can be done.

This campaign does use Gritty Realism 2014 optional rule, which is an 8 hour Short Rest and a 7 day long rest. I have already completed a Campaign 1-20 with half of these players using those rules, it is a stable group.

Challenge is a major theme to reinforce the horror, though it does an important story and backstories matter death is a factor. There is already 4 character deaths in this campaign ( no not the person leaving as a rage-quit unfortunately life gets in the way of DnD ), so understand that if you dislike that aspect of DnD this table will not be for you.

But understand the challenges presented aren't simply Damage and Combat: Skill Checks, environment, exploration and social problem solving are part of the dangers of this world. This is a campaign about surviving a cold and brutal world, maybe forging something better.

This is not like Icewind Dale, where the long winter is a curse on the land, but surviving through a plane wide ice-age of magical scale. The oceans almost entirely frozen, the only vegetation left is hostile and warmth is valuable.

- Game I would like to play. Specifically searching for a game set in the Ravenloft setting (especially Curse of Strahd), preferring to use a mixture of 5e and 5.5e. I've run a very heavily homebrewed version of Curse of Strahd with my own lore, I would like to experience a more 'vanilla' or canon-adjacent version as a player. Ravenloft is my favourite official setting, so I'd be happy to play any Ravenloft campaign, regardless of whether it is CoS or a different campaign set in Ravenloft.

General Information

Hi there! My name is Amy, I'm a long time DM, but I have taken a break recently, and wish to try get my bearings back with a shorter, 6-8 session long Lancer campaign for 4 players! It will run for 2 license levels, so ll1 and ll2, and will be a mostly linear narrative at the beginning, diverging depending on players choices near the end. I am mostly looking for players that are newer to the system, because I know how hard it can be to get a Lancer game :P, but everyone is welcome!

We will be playing using Discord and Owlbear rodeo as our VTT, on Saturdays 4pm - 7/8pm GMT+1, with a session 0 on the 17th! I am aiming for 2 sessions a month at least! I'd love to play more, but it can get pretty difficult in my experience.

Campaign Setting. What can you expect:

Space is vast. Union's reach hardly capable of extending into the furthest corners of the Long Rim. It is here, outside of Union's supervision, a small scale conflict between two corpo-state subsidiaries began a few years past. At first, over matters of resources, then a couple of territorial disputes, and now a technological race consuming many lives and planetary surfaces.

2 weeks ago, the Harrison Armory subsidiary known as Automated Armament Solutions, has intercepted poorly encrypted transmissions between a fleet of the Smith Shimano subsidiary, VI-Te/ch. They were erratic, clearly in distress over a loss of an important corpo asset. Upon further investigation, the asset turned out to be a now Ex-scientist, possessing a vast trove of dangerous secrets. The scientist fled to the planet "Plethora", one mostly ignored by both sides of the conflict because of a large presence of neutral and enigmatic religious sect, known as the Fold-Space Choir. The scientist's trail has gone cold, their last known location nearby one of Choir's settlements.

You've been recruited by AAS to find and extract the scientist, before VI-Te/ch does. Intel suggests VI-Te/ch has already deployed multiple search parties to the region. You will soon make landfall. Your mind racing with rationale for why you took the mission in the first place. Was it the sizeable pay, a potential to end the conflict in one fell swoop, or maybe because you see yourself in the escapists shoes. Only you can say.

If you want to invite me to your table, know that you will not regret it. I am reasonably passionate about the game and vouch to be present for every game, every week, on time. I am interested in making characters that supplement other party members, either in the background aspect or a mechanical combo. I am reopening this advert again to seek a new player for my Etharis campaign. I’ve been so lucky to run thus far for an incredible party. Having just reached the thirty sixth session milestone This campaign is operating off a rewrite of the existing Grimhollow module. Due to scheduling issues with previous replacements we are eager to find our fourth player, having not yet found a player from my previous recruitment.

Etharis is a campaign about duty after faith has failed, heroism without salvation, and choosing who must survive when the gods are already dead.

The rise of the Burach Empire was heralded by a theocracy as magnificent in power as it was ruthless in its capacity to colonise rival pantheons. Ruled by a dynastic line said to descend from the Burach gods themselves, the Empire stretched to the edges of Etharis, rivalled only by the sunless, godless realm of Ostoya. Its southern borders pressed against the elven kingdom of the Chernault; its northern marches strained against the rabid Valikan clans.

Then, without warning, the gods fell.

Seraphic hosts were torn from the sky and died in the mortal muds. The cause of this catastrophe is a closely guarded secret, known only to the highest ranks of the Burach clergy. What is known is this: the Empire did not break cleanly. It staggered, fractured, and spiralled into cascading crises that still threaten to tear it apart years later.

And worse still looms.

Along the Ostoyan–Burach border, an unceasing army of the dead rises — unkillable, relentless, consuming everything it touches. Arcanists gorge themselves on the essence of fallen seraphs, fuelling grotesque ambitions with divine blood. And beyond even this horror, something vast and unfathomable stirs, a threat that no divided people can hope to face.

This is a world devouring itself from within as surely as it is besieged from without. Each land is a new crisis. Each victory carries its own cost. Zealous churchmen fight back-to-back with criminals and outcasts to claw back inches of ground. Faith is fractured. Power is suspect. Survival is never clean.

Player Expectations

I am looking for a motivated, attentive, and engaged player who enjoy investigation, scheming, roleplay, and difficult moral decisions. Characters will be expected to take risks, act decisively, and accept that survival is never guaranteed.

There are no set class requirements for a new player barring the restriction of arcane classes that has applied across the entire span of the campaign. Etharis is a campaign where character comes before mechanical optimisation.

For the right player, Etharis promises a vast wealth of intrigue, adventure, moral conflict and tense choices.

• Players must be 21+

• Good-aligned characters only (not flawless, but fundamentally protective rather than exploitative)

• LGBT+ players are supported and welcome

• This is a roleplay-forward, consequence-driven campaign

Content & Safety

This campaign will respectfully explore dark themes including:

• fantasy ethnic conflict and bigotry

• religious and political extremism

There will be no sexual content of any kind at the table. No tolerance for out-of-game abuse, extremism, or bullying. Player wellbeing comes first: concerns can be raised at any time, and sessions will end with a brief check-in.

About The Game

- We will use Avrae on discord for dice rolls. The first die roll will always be Hope, the second will always be Fear.

- We will create characters on demiplane. I will content share the books with you.

My goal is to expand on what AOT gave us to tell a completely new and original story that still stays true to the spirit (and lore) of AOT

Be prepared for a dark, hard and unforgiving adventure (violence, gore, horror and such)
The focus will be on replicating the AOT experience more than doing a dnd campaign in an AOT setting
