I'm awaiting delivery of the 2" touchscreen device to use Stajpilot to control my Kemper Profiler Player pedal. Anyone have tips on how they've mounted the screen to the pedal?

If not, I’m really just looking for a nice thick sounding 2205, or a good bad cat profile for heavier stuff.

I‘ve tried just under 50 High Gain Profiles from the Rig Exchange so far but none of them really convinced me.

Do you have any recommendations for a good high Gain profile on the Rig Exchange or would you say it‘s worth buying profiles - and if so, which ones?

Something I noticed about how I play shows: during a gig, a surprising part of my head isn't on playing. It's on my feet. Next song, which Performance? Chorus coming, slot 3 or 4? Was the delay already on? Even with only a handful of sounds, that's a small decision every minute or so, for two hours.

Most of the time it works. But my mistakes on stage were mostly wrong sounds, or losing focus on playing because I had to remember which switch to step on next.

I tried tools like Camelot and Gig Performer for this. They're great tools, but they do far more than I needed, and setting up my setlists and sounds always felt like a hack, using them in a way they're not really meant for.

So the idea: what if I decide all of that once, at home, and on stage I only ever have to think "next"?

I built a small macOS and iPadOS tool for this. Every song in the setlist gets its sounds in the order I play them.

It builds up in four simple layers. A Sound is just a name and the program change it sends, like "Crunch" or "Lead with delay". You set it up once and reuse it in as many songs as you like. A Song is a list of those Sounds in the order you play them, and the same Sound can come up more than once (Clean, Crunch, Clean, Lead). A Setlist is your Songs in order, plus breaks if you want them. At the Gig, the app turns the whole Setlist into one long chain of Sounds, and the footswitch just walks along it, one step at a time.

On the floor there's just a two-button MIDI switch: forward, and back for when I step too early. The app sends the program changes to the Kemper / QC / Fractal / Helix or any devices that can switch sounds via PC / CC messages and runs straight through the set. If the band changes the setlist or calls something spontaneous, I reorder it or jump to that song and keep stepping.

I'm curious how others handle this. Do you have a system, or is it just muscle memory by now? And would something like this be useful to you, or am I solving a problem only I have?

Hi all. I’ve been using tube amps (primarily my JCM800) for years and years, and finally just decided to buy a Kemper powered head to experiment with and MAYBE bring it to shows once I figure it out.

I wanted to ask- can someone recommend an amp profile set that includes most if the following? Very down to pay for it, but id rather get it all in one go so i can fuck around with it when it arrives.

I would love to find some high ish gain stuff to play with. I did an east coast run early this year and one of the bands on the tour all used kemper amps and I was very intrigued.

I haven’t bought any profile packs in a couple years. So far haven’t been super impressed by what I’ve tried from 2.0. But I am sure I have missed a lot. I’m sure there have been some recent third party packs even if the market isn’t as robust as it was.

I have (I believe) all STL packs (15-16), lots of mbritt, tonejunkie, cililab, TAF, sinmix, rig buster, etc etc.

HMU with possible trades. Really just looking to see how/if profiling has advanced since I’ve been collecting them and see what I’ve missed out on.

Edit: would also love your high gain bad cat profiles, driftwood, I’m doing a sort of pop-punk project, and a hot cat 30 into a mesa 412 is a tasty treat.

I am trying to record audio from my kemper into my Macbook using a Scarlett 2i2 and stereo XLR's into inputs 1 and 2. Upon powering on, it sounds great for a minute or two, but then a consistent crackling, stuttering hiss appears.

I initially thought this was a ground loop but have tried several different outlets, all of the usb/usb hub combinations that i have, etc. i cannot get this noise to go away! Im starting to think it could be an internal hardware/wiring issue unfortunately.

I have seen a few posts about this so i know its a somewhat common problem, but havent found any solutions. If anyone has experienced this and has a solution please share.

Had anyone compared a Kemper Kabinet to the TONEX Cab or Fender Tonemaster?

I've started using my stage mk1 for gigs. Wanted to grab a 2nd unit for redundancy. Choice is either to grab an mk2 and use current mk1 as backup or grab a 2nd mk1. Can you give suggestions on what direction to move in?

Hello everyone, I would like to know your thoughts on buying a MK1 powerhead, now that it has been discontinued, should I look for something else like the new tonex board?

MK1 Stage owner with $3500 of kemper gear. Struggling with windows , latest O.S.14 and Beta R.M. Ridiculous bs in performance mode. No drag and drop. No cut and paste . Overwriting the wrong slots. Impossible to load 5 slot performance. Struggling with customer support. Trying to communicate in the Kemper Amps forums, so they fucking banned me.

Fucking what the hell are you supposed to do? Is Kemper decomposing faster than Trump?

I've been using my kemper for almost a decade now and it still is awesome and I love its sound.

The Hr FP got my attention though. Especially with the latest update with latency fixes and tone3000 integration.

As I said I love my kemper, but tbh i don't use more than 3 presets per song and together with my uno4kemper and the toaster it is much more to carry compared to the prime though, and i love this compact setup.

3 switches would just do it i guess.

What do you think? Would it be a major downgrade? Or even vice versa?

I can’t get any sound from my Kemper other than the direct to work. Rig manager in the profiler don’t seem to be talking to one another. I don’t wanna go straight from my profiler to my computer because then that kind of defeats the purpose of having rig manager at all. I’ve updated my computer. I’ve updated the profile and I’ve updated rig manager and still nothing. 

I tried to talk to somebody over the phone, but their hours I can’t make work since they’re in Germany and I’m in Texas. The online support hasn’t been much help, and I just can’t afford to pay $3 a minute to talk to customer support. The American office just told me to call Germany.

I’m not the most tech savvy person, but I feel like I’ve tried everything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m in a home studio so micing my amps isn’t always an option.

It’s been a couple months since this issue started. I’m honestly thinking about selling my camper and buying a quad. Maybe that’s a bad idea. I don’t know.
