Something interesting is happening in northern Kazakhstan
In the Kostanay Region, two new wind farms with a combined capacity of 100 MW have been launched, alongside a new 44-hectare eco-park near the city of Kostanay.
The wind farms have 16 turbines in total, while the park offers walking and cycling paths, sports fields, playgrounds, and space for families to spend time outdoors.
What I find interesting is that these are two different sides of the same idea: making a place better to live in while also changing how it produces energy.
Kazakhstan has huge open spaces and plenty of potential for renewable energy, but expanding green energy is only part of the challenge. It also matters whether people can see improvements in their everyday lives.
What do you think makes a city genuinely greener: cleaner energy, more parks and public spaces, better public transport, or a combination of all three?

Kaspi Alaqan?

Tourism/Turizm Visiting Shymbulak in Nov 2026
Hi All,
We are visiting Almaty on November 1st week. We were planning to visit Shymbulak ski resort. Both of us doesn't know skiing, so we are mainly going there to go in the cable car to the top and enjoy the view.
1) Can you please help to understand if Shymbulak as a whole will be closed (resort, cafes etc + all the cable cars/ski lifts) or is it for just the cable cars?
2) Can we book room there for a day to enjoy?
3) How's the experience of learning skiing there?
4) If closed, what are the other resort options?

Does anyone in this group know which Government department issues the certificate of origin for petrochemical products in Kaz?
Also, if you live in Atyrau region and/or Bostandyk District, and are interested in earning extra money to help me authenticate documents and vet businesses (mainly refineries/suppliers of petrochemical products), please reach out to me directly for further conversation at legalcafe@outlook.com.

Language/Tıl

Army/Äsker

Games/Oyındar Can I find an investor in KZ for my indie game?
I’m a 23 year old game developer from Astana. I’m making this unique 2D platformer game called Auris. It has 1000 wishlists, trailers were featured by IGN, Alpha Beta Gamer, Indie Game Joe, and many more western media.
So far many people like the small demo of the game that I posted but I need some funding in order to finish the full game. I made a pitch deck and everything for publishers but now I’m wondering…
Are there any investors in Kazakhstan who work with indie games? Can I find someone or some organization to fund my game? Maybe some of you know someone who works with these kinds of things.
Thanks! Here’s the link to the game demo
