Discussion Why is My-th only up for 4 weeks? Explaining Toei's release model
(first off, My-th isn't even available on Toei Tokusatsu World Official in my country. But the Agito and Kabuto uploads are, which is what led me to do research on this subject.)
Regarding why there's a 48 hour wait between the Japanese airing of My-th and why the episodes are only up for 4 weeks, one has to know that Toei has a long-standing contract with TV Asahi, the tv channel that has aired Kamen Rider for decades. As the main broadcaster, TV Asahi demands a certain level of exclusitivity when it comes to the airing of these programs.
HOW DOES TOEI'S RELEASE MODEL WORK?
In Japan, new episodes of Kamen Rider can only be streamed on the day of airing through TV Asahi's streaming service (with ads) or on the exclusive TTFC app (ad-free). On other subscription services like Amazon Prime, they have to wait 3 days to see it ad-free. On Toei's Japanese YT channel, whenever they upload new Kamen Rider episodes, they only get posted 1 week after they air, and then they're only available for 1 week before being removed. (with the exception of the first two episodes of a new show which stay up throughout). And when they upload episodes from older shows, they're up for 2 weeks before being removed. 2 weeks is considered the standard length of time for most JP youtube channels that upload free episodes, My-th, Agito and Kabuto being up for 4 weeks is actually already longer than the norm.
When Toei distributes the show through external distributors such as Tokushoutsu or Tokusato, they can circumvent these restrictions since these are outside companies that paid for the streaming license. It's also important to note that Tokushoutsu and TokuSato's uploads have ads, whereas Toei's various Youtube channels are ad-free. (Tokusato airs the latest episodes 2 hours after the Japan airing, but the episodes are only free for 11 hours before they require a membership to be accessed). Likely some of the ad revenue on those distributors' uploads goes to Toei and the shows' sponsors.
(Honestly this isn't even a hard-and-fast rule. In Hong Kong for example, ViuTV is 1 week behind on the upload. And Ani-One Asia, a free YT channel, is even slower, being 2 weeks behind.)
When Toei releases it themselves through their own Youtube channel, they have to adhere to the restrictions, even when it is a channel aimed at overseas audiences.
WHY DOES THIS LIMITED RELEASE MODEL EXIST?
The reason for the limited release model can likely be chalked up to how many of these Japanese companies have pretty old-fashioned beliefs regarding piracy and accessibility. They probably believe that having the show be up for free on Youtube without ads will hurt the sales and streaming figures of the other official channels. They likely are afraid of the possibility that Japanese fans will use VPNs to stream the show for free. Furthermore, Kamen Rider is traditionally viewed there as a kids' show watched on a weekly basis, the notion of older fans who want to binge the show is still probably lost on many of these oldheads.
It's also important to note that Toei has little power when it comes to negotiating their contract, TV Asahi has all the power. They are the channel that airs their shows, going against them could mean losing their sponsors, essentially biting the hand that feeds them. In Japan too they often believe in honouring and respecting existing contracts, so it's unlikely they will ask to change or renegotiate their pre-existing agreement, especially for the extremely niche crowd of overseas audiences.
That said, it's entirely possible things could change in the future. Ultraman Z thru Decker episodes were once only available for 2 weeks when Tsuburaya first started releasing the episodes on Youtube (albeit those were simulcast). But from Blazar onwards, they left the episodes up on their channel permanently. Likely, Tsuburaya managed to use the view count figures to prove to their higher-ups and their sponsors that leaving the episodes up doesn't hurt their business. Now this is not a 1:1 comparison. Tsuburaya is a much smaller company than Toei, their broadcasters are much more lenient, and their uploads have ads. But it opens the possibility that if My-th does well enough, the streaming of future KR shows might be different.
WHAT HAPPENED TO TOKUSHOUTSU?
As for why Toei doesn't continue to use Tokushoutsu for the english release, Shout seems to be letting their toku licenses lapse as both Super Sentai as well as KR 1971 and Kuuga are gone from their service, and their Zeztz uploads were just recently removed as well. Shout was recently bought out by Radial Entertainment (a private equity firm that is in the midst of gutting the whole company) so the new higher-ups probably have decided that the viewing figures aren't worth the cost of the Toei license.
Also, Tokushoutsu's uploads were only available in US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand (the same countries that Toei is planning a new streaming service for, presumably to replace Tokushoutsu). Toei Tokusatsu World Official though covers other regions, including the rest of Europe, Africa and India. But despite this though, there are still many regions that have no legal way to watch the show at all (such as here in Singapore).
I know that those who had access to the Tokushoutsu release of Zeztz are frustrated by this new release model, but understand that for a lot of English speaking fans the world over, this is the first time they can legally watch a Kamen Rider series in their countries on Youtube. And also spare a thought for the fact that there are people who have to wait 1-2 weeks, and those who still can't watch it in any way. The complaints about the show being 2 days late or being only up for 4 weeks can't help but seem minor when there are people who literally do not have it at all.
I would like to kindly request that fans in the US etc to instead of complaining about these things that Toei (currently) can't do anything about, use your platforms to amplify the voices of those of us who can't watch the show legally. Nobody's happy about having to wait 2 days or the episodes only being up for a month, but I firmly believe that making the show accessible worldwide is significantly more important.
Edit: With Ex-Aid and Kuuga now set to be uploaded to the Youtube channel as well, the 4 week model is still set to remain. However as of this writing they did temporarily reinstate all the Agito and Kabuto uploads, and also the entirety of Zeztz has been posted (albeit that's also not available in my country).

Discussion Each member of the Zyunishi Doumei actually represents the opposite side of their respective Ride Eggs: A Character Analysis/Theory
Kamen Rider My-th is a show themed around the "myth" of the Chinese Zodiac with each of the 12 animals of said zodiac being a rider, plus Maou and Rid as cats who have "invaded the circle" and replaced the Rat, My-th, as the number 1 leading spot. With this premise in mind you'd expect that each member of the Alliance would have a personality similar to their respective animal in the story like the Tiger being fierce and stubborn or the Dog being goofy and laid back. Instead, My-th presents us with character archetypes that seem almost counterintuitive to these tropes. Tigre is calm, insightful and kind and Vanken is loyal and effecient. Many people have taken this as just meaning that they'll have opposite personalities to their zodiac counterparts but I think there's something more sophisticated going on (loyalty isn't the opposite of playfulness for example).
I was thinking about Mutn's character and how she's all cute and lethargic for most of the time, but becomes aggressive and determined when Vanken's been hurt. She's quite literally and figuratively a Wolf in Sheep's Clothing, a pun reinforced by her Ride Egg's twin sides like how Datt's Ride Egg is the Tortoies and the Hare, and then it hit me. She's a Wolf and NOT a Sheep.
I believe that the members of the Zyunishi Doumei actually have personalities that correlate closer to their Ride Egg's other sides and that this conflict is going to be crucial to the themes and story of My-th. Lets go down the list of who we know about to strengthen my point.
Mutn the Wolf: Starting with this one because I've already kind of explained it, Mutn is extremely wolf like. She spends most of her time sleeping but when she isn't Mutn shows a more clever, cunning and blunt side like we see with her winning the Hanafuda game. When Vanken gets hurt and his Ride Egg stolen she becomes enraged and vows to get revenge. Cleverness, cunning and bloodlust are traits that are strongly associated with wolves, not sheep and her habit of spending all day sleeping can be read almost like a wolf/werewolf resting in the day and then hunting or "turning" at night when it's time to hunt.
Vanken the Eagle: In the original myth, the Dog came in 11th place because it spent most of the race playing in a river. Vanken however, doesn't follow this personality at all because he's the most dutiful, responsible and efficient member of the Alliance that we see always looking out for his fellow members and following the rules whilst boasting the fastest kill on a Fukashigi in the series so far. You could say that these are all traits of actual dogs, of which I won't argue, but I think an argument exists that these are also traits commonly associated with Eagles, with them being symbols of loyalty, vigilance and strength.
Jyao the Mongoose: Jyao is the reason why I made this post this blew my mind when I realized it. In the original myth, the Snake came in 6th place by sneaking on to the Horse's leg and launching themself onto the finish line at the last second before the horse. You'd think Jyao would be presented as sneaky, conniving and maybe a little weak to reflect this and that's kind of true. He does go behind Minetaka's back to try and get Sora's driver but it doesn't seem like he has any ill intentions to use it. Jyao just wants more power for the sake of it. On top of that, he's not weak in the slightest and is so far the most quick-tempered and brutish of the Alliance that we've seen so far swinging his tail like a club prioritizing beating My-th into submission over the Fukashigi. Wild aggression and unrelenting force are traits associated more with mongooses than snakes. The real kicker though is their resistance to venom. Mongoose get their stereotypes from the fact that most of them have some kind of resistance to snake venom, allowing them to hunt snakes without abandon. In the most recent episode, Minetaka slices Jyao with his own scythe as a threat should he ever try to go off on his own again and what do we see after this? Jyao going off on his own to beat the shit out of My-th, ignoring Maou's threat. Jyao ignored the bite of his scythe like a mongoose.
Datt the Tortoise: Ok I'll admit this one's a bit of a stretch because we haven't seen too much of her but bear with me. Datt presents herself like another cold, ruthlessly efficient type who boasts that she always gets her prey in 60 seconds or less. The speed part relates to the zodiac myth with the rabbit coming in 4th after hopping across the river but everything else is a bit strange. The thing is, Datt is wrong about herself. She says she cares about efficiency and speed but the 1st thing we see her do is go out and explore the world and learn about fashion and language. When she learns a new catch phrase she uses it constantly in number of playful and sarcastic ways since she doesn't really understand it yet. During her bout with My-th she does prioritize the Fukashigi, but she fails to beat it and get its eggs unlike Vanken. She spent more of the fight making remarks at Sora and taking it slow like a tortoise.
These dichotomies between what the riders perceive themselves as vs. what they are actually like is what I think the story is going to base the bulk of its conflicts around. My-th has set up a strong theme of old traditions vs. modernity with the Zyunishi Doumei at least 100 years old. They've been fighting the Fukashigi the same way for all of that time using the Born Buckles to crack open the eggs and the zodiac animals inside to fight the Fukashigi before they hurt/kill anyone. Enter Sora and Yuna as My-th who have not only discovered a way to reveal entirely new sides of the eggs, but improve on the Fukashigi fighting by actually saving the people they hunt. My-th is a show about the new age rising against old and inefficient traditions and the characters will reflect this by either changing themselves for the better, or remaining stagnant for the worse. In order for Datt to prosper she needs to learn that it's ok to take it slow and enjoy herself, in order for Vanken to prosper he needs to realise his morals put him above Minetaka's and "rise above" the alliance, etc.
Maou is clearly evil and manipulative (just fucking look at his character design lmao) however I don't think he actually has any real higher motives besides what he's already doing and making sure My-th doesn't ruin that. He's successfully coerced the other Zodiacs into his side with some form of manipulation via their respective traumas like we see with Rid. We've already seen an abusive side to him with Jyao so it's all but confirmed that he's a huge control freak. Minetaka's only collected and confident now because everyone is generally following his rules. However, I bet when the other riders start getting inspired by Sora and his way of saving people that facade's going to crack and he'll really start lashing out. Unlike the other riders who will see change for the better, Minetaka will see it for the worst and reject it entirely in a desperate bid to keep his little empire. I actually think that this is partially what The Calamity they keep referring to is. Sora and Yuna inspiring the Alliance to disband? Yeah that would be considered a calamity to an emotional abuser like Minetaka because he would lose everything. This is why Minetaka has his own driver and Ride Egg, representing his violent nature and inability to change, unlike the others which can choose between 2. Funny how he's so hell bent on keeping things the same when he himself breaks the rule of the Chinese Zodiac by taking the Rat's place.
There are other predictions we can make with this too, in particular with Ryzu and the Qilin which might be the single strongest thematic points towards the whole tradition vs modernity theme. The dragon and qilin are diametrically opposed forces in Chinese mythology with the dragon representing imperial rule and power and the qilin representing peace and tranquility. Character bios mention how Ryzu is usually focused, collected and intelligent, but once he takes his mask off he becomes wild and unpredictable. My hail mary prediction is that Ryzu without his mask is actually a morally righteous, if overly bombastic type character, and that the dragon mask is keeping that side of him in check in favor of cold, unempathetic logic. Either that or due to leaks about Ryzu getting his own driver, will be another situation like Maou where he forgoes his other side intentionally to be an asshole. Regardless, the Qilin will probably be a major source of power for Sora on the opposite side of the spectrum, perhaps with the dragon driver to represent harmony between 2 halves.
There are some holes in this line of thinking though. Ende, from what little we've seen, takes after the Monkey very well being very helpful and crafty, seemingly being the one who made the buckles for the drivers. If he were to follow previous logic he would be a Crab and I have a hard time seeing that being characterized (maybe he gets "crabby" when his inventions don't work idk). Kei is also a factor because...deadass I'm half convinced he's a Christmas themed joke character. He's shown to be pretty goofy, his rider form is red and white almost exclusively and both the Chicken and Salmon sides of his Ride Egg are both tongue and cheek Japanese Christmas foods because of a Sentai meme. His fucking name is literally KEI like KFC aka THE titular Christmas fried chicken place for Japan and he's probably debuting around Christmas the writers must've been laughing their asses off when they came up with this. Maybe he'll have some arc where he tries to mature in a sort of comedic and endearing way and that'll be how his "Salmon" side is revealed ala Salmon climbing upstream but again idk. Lastly, Tigre as an Orca is a pretty big stretch as while Orca's are associated with strong familial bonds, correlating to his relationship with Asao, lots of animals can be correlated to that (even though it's also based on Chinese word play as Orcas are called Tiger-Whales).
I want to close this with one last comparison and in my opinion it's the most interesting.
Rid the Rat: Asao is interesting because he takes after the Cat and the Rat in equal measures but ultimately, I think he'll take after the Rat by the end of the story. In the original myth, the Cat misses the race because the Rat tricked them into sleeping in, cementing their eternal rivalry with each other. Asao takes after this very well as we see him get tricked multiple times out of Seed Eggs, or to be an unwilling test dummy against Fukashigi from Sora. What's interesting though is that he's an undercover agent, working as Yuna's tutor and ally against the Fukashigi in a supporting role with neither Sora or Yuna suspecting him as Rid. This is a pretty effective role for him as he's managed to find a way to help out his team without even being a rider, something some of his subordinates can't even claim. Tricking someone by pretending to be their friend only to betray them? That's the Rat's entire thing in the Zodiac myth and the reason it won 1st place! Asao's strongest traits are his cunning and ability to lie and his weakest traits are his naivete, something that will naturally fade as he gets more experienced. Ultimately, I believe (like most others) that Asao will double cross the Zyunishi Doumei and fully join Yuna and Sora's side, fully cementing him as a Rat. Perhaps his final upgrade form will be a mix of the Rat and the Cat to symbolize this? Would be sick as hell if so. But regardless what do you guys think? Following this logic what do you think the rest of the Zyunishi Doumei would be?
tl;dr the zodiac riders present themselves as their zodiac animals but have more in common with their eggs opposing sides personality wise. Themes and Such
