Colors are tuned for Go first, but I checked it against a bunch of other popular languages and tried it in IDEA, Rider, CLion and RustRover, so it should hold up there too!

whenever I try to do an embedded project my IDE won't show me the available boards. How can I fix this?

I have Clion, Rider and RustRover. JetBrains Toolkit won't udate them. They are greyed out. I can't remember the exact words when the mouse hovers over them, something like 'The path or files is not writeable, check settings.' I can't update from within the apps because it says updates are controlled by Toolkit.

I uninstalled Toolkit and can now update from within each app. Both before and after installing Toolkit, updates were, and are still, extremely slow, like 40 minutes. It must spend 30-35 minutes on the validating... stage.

It's a new Lenovo PC, Intel Core Ultra 5 226V, 16GB RAM, Windows 11 with all updates. Little else installed. Any ideas?

The AI Assistant in Rider used to run SQL queries in the background using the database tool in Rider and continues after getting the results. Nothing visual.

Today I was running Copilot in Air in Rider and it took a different route.
I can see it trying to open a new database console but pasting commands. For some reason, it wasn't able and it told me to open it myself and have it have focus, which I did.

Then it was pasting SQL commands and trying them out to investigate the data in the database. It was clicking on the run button too, as if it's controlling Rider visually.
I have never seen this before. Is this something new?

I feel it's slower. Is there a way to tell the AI assistant in Air to query the database using the connection like it used in the background vs controlling the console visually?

Why does Rider's MCP server port change sometimes by itself?
This causes the configured mcp for rider-ide to stop working because it's listening on the wrong port because Rider changed it. This happened a couple of times so far. Rider's mcp server port changed from 64483 to 64482 all of a sudden and the AI Assistant was telling me it can't do something in Rider when I know it should and this is the first thing I check.

Hello, I have been using Mellum 2.1 with the old AI plugin running it using ollama, but I am no longer seeing it as an available model in Air IDE and was not able to find any documentation on how to setup it properly.

Can someone provide me with a guide on how to do it? My current Agent is Junie (not lite).

I'm using WebStorm with the JetBrains AI Assistant plugin and the Codex agent.

I signed into Codex using my ChatGPT Plus account, not an OpenAI API key. In the JetBrains settings, Codex shows as "Managed by agent", and I haven't purchased a JetBrains AI Pro or Ultimate subscription.

I've been using Codex quite a lot for a personal game development project, and my ChatGPT profile currently shows over 21 million tokens used.

My questions are:

Does Codex use only my ChatGPT Plus limits when authenticated through ChatGPT?

Can JetBrains charge me separately for Codex usage or tokens in this setup?

Do I need a paid JetBrains AI subscription to continue using Codex through the AI Assistant plugin?

If I reach my ChatGPT Codex usage limits, will the agent simply stop until the limits reset, without generating additional charges?

I have automatic credit top-ups disabled in my ChatGPT account and haven't configured any API keys.

I'm mainly concerned about receiving an unexpected bill from JetBrains or OpenAI.

Has anyone used Codex in WebStorm with this exact setup and can confirm how billing works?

Since some versions ago we could hold Alt while clicking the fold arrow of a code region to either fold it or collapse it recursively but now holding Alt does nothing. Is there a way to re-enable this?

I think, but can't actually remember, holding either Ctrl or Shift folded code by levels too. Like click once it folded all children, click again it folded the entire block, click again it collapsed one level, click again it collapsed all.

I might just be dumb, but I can't figure out how to increase the font size. There's definitely an option in the regular AI Chat window, but I can't find it in the new layout. And the miniscule size of the chat text is absolutely killing me. (I'm using Webstorm 2026.2.3)

Always seems to timeout for me, saying "error 429: too many requests". Tried yesterday and this morning. Have raised with Jetbrains but just wondered if anyone else has this issue? I also have an issue using other models: A session completes (answers my prompt, no "stop" button in chat window), but shows in-progress indicator in the session list, and warns when exiting the IDE that a session is still running.

I like the direction that Air is going, so want to get over these teething troubles! Tx

One crazy useful feature i'd been using in the AIR ide plugin was the changed files listed below the current session. In the latest version of AIR it appears they've removed this... or maybe i'm missing something, but after the upgrade this no longer works.

This was an insanely useful feature for reviewing the models work and did it better than any tool i've tried yet. Was it removed, or maybe I've hit some bug? Please bring it back!

PS: yes, I know i can view the changed files in the project tree, commit pane, etc.. but it was super nice having the files right there organized by session.

Hi, i am facing this same issue for third time, usually i fix this issue by completely removing JetBrains product from my system and reinstalling from scratch, it is very time consuming process.

If i just uninstall rider and install other version of rider still i get same issue in newly install rider.

Exturday night rider was show me inside Ai Assistant plugin panel, switch to JetBrains Air there new Agentic workspace workflow and it was show a button to install JetBrains Air plugin, i press the button and install JetBrains Air, after that i close the rider and shutdown my pc and go to sleep.

Today morning i open my pc and open the JetBrains rider, in front page it always showing JetBrains Air chat panel in fullscreen same like chatGPT website page, i don't like that panel that always showing in front page, because it is not feel like IDE anymore, it is feel like something working with agantic IDE feel, so i uninstall the JetBrains Air plugin, after uninstall plugin, rider IDE was become completely slow and using full cpu, after that i try cleaning catch still issue was not fixed.

If i restart the IDE, i is loading too slow and getting OMM, Not Responding, very slow startup, files not loading and lot of issues was coming.

I have no idea what to do right now except switching to other code editors or IDE's, because it is uninstalling complete JetBrains product and reinstalling it again and again everytime when this issue was happen it was annoying and very time consuming process.

Anyone facing same issue like me?

Being terrified I re-opened the IDE and it turned out the AIR plug-in didn't lost my unsent message! Thanks a lot for that, JetBrains Team!

I'm working on a more secure development workflow.

We developers face growing threats from our software supply chain, confused AI agents, and recruiting scams. It's a matter of time before more & more devs have their laptop and the credentials on them compromised. Worm-able compromise using your creds is coming, and is arguably already here.

Isolating your development environment, including the toolchain, repos, AI harness, and IDE, is where we should all be heading.

Surprisingly this is not the case yet. JetBrains remote dev has the right pieces for it. This screenshot is something I worked on yesterday & today to sandbox my JetBrains IDE and have the IDE connect to a second VM where the project / repos / AI harness / etc. actually live. This is a defense-in-depth approach that I think we should all be considering.

This runs on my MacBook Air (2025) 13 M4 32GB. I'm still cleaning it up a bit, but it looks like a viable approach.

I'm going to investigate some other options for the IDE client and might switch to a Framework 13 Pro w/ Linux, or may continue using MacOS as my daily driver if sandboxing the IDE client doesn't end up being too costly.

Please share your thoughts! How are you keeping your workstation safe from compromised repos, poisoned dependencies, or confused AI agents? How do you want to? What is your workplace doing to solve for this?

The question is basically in the title.

If i click on "New Session" it opens a new tab in Rider, but the session doesnt appear in the "Agent Sessions" window.

It just states: "No sessions in the current project". I also made sure to try out the different filter settings.

So am i just misunderstanding this feature? I really dont know why we need to have a new window just for this one simple button to create a new session
