That was the 20th season when the "sky's the limit" rule was put in place that allowed players to remain on the show as long as they kept on winning.
Later that same season, Tom Walsh would break that record with 7 wins. And then some software engineer from Salt Lake City would win a couple of more games. Not sure if I remember that correctly.

If any contestants can wave 👋 at some point during the introductions my 2 year old would appreciate it greatly.
I believe he thinks this is a show where he waves at the contestants in the intro, claps during Ken's entrance and vibes to the final jeopardy music. (He makes us play the music at least 3 times so he can head bob and point.) I understand you may not be able to or want to wave but please know that if you do wave, you bring immense joy to this 2 year old. Thank you for your consideration.

The clue was: Ordinal term for a Jerusalem structure built starting in 20 B.C., with no Ark of the Covenant this time
They wanted Second Temple -- which was constructed in either the 4th or 5th century BCE depending on which source you trust.
The was a renovation undertaken by Herod roughly around that time, but it was not built starting then.
Very curious what their source was.

WRONG ANSWER 3: George Washington

I just want a podcast with straight facts. Something I can listen to over and over at work to learn the state and world capitals and memorize the U.S. presidents and vice presidents? I don't want editorializing or guests or anything. Just a robotic voice going over the very basics of Jeopardy!.
That sort of thing?
I already have Rudyard Kipling down pat... just his name, and that he wrote the Jungle Book. So, I'm already like 50% a Jeopardy! master.
That has to exist, right?

I am finally getting around to finishing this year's Jeopardy! Masters tournament and I was just watching episode 07 and found it very entertaining that Victoria Groce doesn't seem to move or even flinch when pressing her buzzer, but Yogesh Raut will hold his hand in the air and frantically click his buzzer as if to signal to us that he knows the answer, but almost always losing the buzz-in race to Victoria!🤣🤣 Sorry Yogesh, but it's very fun to watch.

On the September 3 Inside Jeopardy! podcast episode titled "What is Season 43?", Michael and Sarah said the season would be off to a great start, and I thought for sure there would be at least one or two 5+ time champions. Somehow, with this week's games being taped September 1 (the last tape day before the podcast episode aired), there isn't at least one 5-time champion, much to the surprise of myself and others after Greg Monson lost in a tiebreaker in his 4th game on Tuesday, leaving no chance for someone to win 5 games by the end of the first five weeks of the season. At least Matthew Riggle and Rian Robertson won 4 games, only to lose their 5th games. So, the big question is, do you think we will see someone win at least 5 games this season before the postseason begins this January?

Hello Jeopardy! people. Shot in the dark here: My son (Benjamin Whitlock) appeared on Jeopardy! back in 2002, taped in June, aired in October 2002 (it was a bit hair raising, as TV was being interrupted with breaking news of the DC Shooters - we were lucky nothing happened during my son's two evening appearances). We only have a couple of taped recording VHS, pretty poor quality, and would love to be able to obtain a digital copy. I understand Sony Studios charge a small fortune. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The "co-champion rule" are favoring the majority of the fans in the online community but not the potential players who would had been bumped out for the next taping schedule & the casting department.
This was The Ringer article 's explanation surrounding Brian Chang's win in the tiebreaker that will provide a better explanation:
Alley’s suspicion is that the show was never all that worried about the extra expense of paying for multiple champions’ victories (a reasonable guess, given how much Jeopardy! rakes in each year). Instead, he says, the tiebreaker was likely implemented to preserve the flow of contestants. In a given year, some 100,000 people try out for one of those 400 spots on the show. Many spend years trying to get chosen. On a typical tape day, the show brings in 10 new contestants—many having flown in from across the country at their own expense—as well as a couple of local alternates. With two ties, there are two fewer slots—two more people who may have waited years for the Jeopardy! invitation before being told to go back home and try again. For all the perennial stories about strategies like the Forrest Bounce or James Holzhauer’s big bets breaking Jeopardy!, this was the one that really did it. And so: the tiebreaker.

https://www.theringer.com/tv/2021/1/23/22245900/jeopardy-tiebreaker-scenario-rules-changes
The local alternates are reserved players in the event of a triple zero ending (or no winner) just like in 2016 or a returning champion was unable to play the following day of taping.
Also Matt Carberry posted on his opinion about tiebreaking clue:
Looking Back: The Abolition of Ties in Regular Play
https://mattcarberry.substack.com/p/looking-back-the-abolition-of-ties
October 13, 2026 game is looked similar to July 18, 2019 game when a champion has a stronger statistic play but the challenger was able to overcome the deficit & ended up in a lock tie. It only ended where the champion lost the tiebreaker as the champion bet 0 in FJ.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jB-FDAo4gvU
The other case was in June 21, 2024 but this time the champion won the tiebreaker.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PU6n8WOeCjI
Unfortunately, the social media is still amplified to bring back the co-champion rule and they think the tiebreaker should had been longer or tougher yet the single tiebreaker question was a standard in most game shows.
Had Ron Clarke and defeated 3 game champion Greg Monson became co-champions as the people in the online community are pushed right now, either Kim Kalnoki or Wesley Yiin from the next episode would had been bumped out and all their hard work to become a J! contestant became meaningless because they already prepared for the show but only to find out that you were bumped in favor of both players competing the following episode. So J! website posted all the names of the challengers for the week to prevent from bumping out of the list with the tiebreaker is now implemented.

I assume I must be on the Jeopardy mailing list, I received this hard sell email from the casting director. Based on the fact that I don’t think I’ve ever seen an email from Jeopardy with this tone, it certainly sounds to me like they may be having difficulty fielding enough contestants for a full run of ESPN Jeopardy. Sports is a weird niche, and it’s more like several weird niches. Someone who has deep knowledge of Football may know nothing about Basketball and a die hard Soccer fan may know zero about Hockey, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they were having a hard time finding enough knowledgeable contestants.
