The Mods are doing a fun competition starting TOMORROW (16th). Please read below guidelines fully:

1. Two winners DAILY from 16th to 20th (= five days, 10 prizes). We use "winners" lightly. This whole thing is meant to be fun and casual.
2. Pictures can be of anything that captures the essence of Durga Pujo - the idol, pandal, lighting, crowd, person praying, etc.
3. Submit your entries in the comments of the DAILY highlighted/sticky thread, starting tomorrow (see THIS). Daily thread will be locked for comments by 8 am of next day. So, entries for 16th must be submited by 8 am of 17th. We will try to announce winners by the evening.
4. We will give you a custom code that you can show at Brubeck and they will give you any pasrty of your choice of value up to Rs.110/- Enjoy!
5. Maximum two entries per account per day. Account must be at least 30 days old.
6. Pictures (no videos) must be from Jamshedpur metropolitan area. Can be from a famous Pujo site or your society/gully. Must include area name where picture was taken, if safe then also include a google map pindrop so others can visit. Feel free to add anything else about the picture, your thoughts or challenges while making the picture, camera make/model.
7. Be creative, zoom into your subjects, be abstract. Composition and light are your friends. But your picture must still be realistic. Strong filters, overprocessed, AI effects will disqualify your entry.
8. Resolution of image is not a criteria - we want people with basic cameras to have an equal chance. Even a lowres pinhole camera pic could win.
9. Only original content. Person posting the picture must be the person who took the picture. This is based on an honor code, respect it. We might ask winners for original, fullres, picture to be sent to us for verification.
10. Some users might be exceptional photographers but sorry, you can only win one prize out of total 10. We might allow at most a repeat prize for exceptional photography (TBD).

Having stayed in Jamshedpur for the past 22 years and done with school and college here ,i came back to jsr for Durga Puja vacation but i feel everything is so quite, i remember that Durga puja used to be celebrated with pomp and show right from chaturthi but this year i feel why it is becoming so boring ?.

I wasn't here in Jsr for the past 5 months .

Why did everything change so suddenly ?

Also I see there are a lack of decent people now and only filled with Chapris here and there

Incredibly sad state of Adityapur Pandals. They're showcasing caged birds and animals. This isn't the spirit of the Durga Puja we know and love. Can we make an official complaint regarding this?

Female workers of AUBURN DESIGN PRIVATE LIMITED which is a textile workshop are being paid less and being worked more hours so the workers in protest have blocked the entire highway(both sides) until their demands are met which is a fair point but still, stuck in here for more than an hour with no clear sight of when this will be cleared because even the government officials who have arrived on the scene are not doing anything and according to the workers these government officials are working in correlation to the factory administration.

In the era of cheap trending clothes is there still any store that value quality?? Especially male clothes. Puja ki shopping baaki reh gyi h 😭

So I'm thinking of going to few Durga Puja Pandal with my mom who is visiting for some days here. I can't go in evening or night time because first I have a night shift job and second I really hate the rush in evening. So I'm thinking of going in morning like 10am or something. I need suggestion on few handful good pandal that I should visit with her that is unique.

If you can please also tell me location of it because I'm not very familiar with all the area here.

My main priorities are:

A good college environment and campus life.

Good teaching faculty and proper academic support.

Timely completion of the degree without unnecessary delays.

Please suggest colleges based on your actual experiences or those of people you know. It would be really helpful if you could also mention the pros and cons.
