Insurance increase

• Upvotes

If you're like me and your benefits went up significantly check for an alert for total annual compensation. You probably just tripped over the next tier and the higher health premiums that go with it.

I would also say to just check how close you are the edge in general. It would suck to accept a minor pay raise that leads to massive benefit spikes!

Career Transition

Has anyone had any luck transitioning into a new career or role here? Without a finance background? I’m a fed employee at Social Security. I have a BS degree but not in finance.

My current role pays roughly 90k and I’m responsible for calculating and releasing benefits. I want something new and more challenging.

Any tips, advice or particular job recommendations would be appreciated.

Am I eligible to try for internal movement within 7 months of joining the firm

I joined the firm in March under 602 and I want to do the internal switch. I know the rules are that you should let your manager know that you are looking for roles outside but I don't want to discuss this with my manager at this point because I don't know how he will react and I don't want my end year ratings to be affected. I am new to this work culture so I don't know whom to contact for my questions. Discussing with colleagues can also backfire because what if they get a hint. Very Confused.

I did ping one of the hiring manager regarding one of the opening in his team but at the back of my mind I am just dubious if I should scrape this thought until I complete 1 year or should I move ahead in finding and applying for roles.

Relationship Banker Role

I am currently employed as an ABC (sales manager) for farmers Insurance with my P&C + Life & Health license, but received an offer from Chase to be a relationship banker- needing to get mny SIE, Series 6, and Series 66 as well. I'm hoping to get those exact series licenses to perhaps be a DM in future, but this offer allows me to be closer to home, less travel, and base pay higher than what I currently make.

Anyone want to provide their experiences as a relationship banker, how likely can you move up, how's working with Chase, your day-to-day, and how is work/life balance? More info the better, thanks!

New hire questions

So I've been in the retail banking industry for 10 years, and I've never had a hiring process like this, is this normal for chase?

Had 3 interviews, was offered the job, accepted on the 21st of September. The back end of the hiring has been odd, I've done the finger printing before, but filling out my I9 in the UPS store was...an interesting choice. Then the "proof of work" for the last 5 years, that was a fun challenge getting the correct documents for them. Not to mention the company, Hireright, who was to send me to email to do all of that, took 2 weeks after accepting for me to get, not sure why.

So I received an email from the "chase pre employment" people, with two additional people CC'd on the email, saying my start date had been picked, then about 20 minutes later I get another similar email, with a different start date. The email also stats "As a next step, your manager, copied on this email, will communicate details about your first day prior to your actual start date"

To date, I have not met, talked to, or emailed with my manager, is this all normal?

When I got the original confirmation email, I based my notice to my current employer on that date, the 2nd email with a different date, was sooner, and since I based my notice off the first date, I emailed the 2 people who were also on the email from pre employment, explaining I would need to stick to the orginal date they had sent. I never received any sort of response, and woke up to 2 new emails with the original start date listed again.

I have just never dealt with anything like this? Is it normal to not really actually talk to someone on the phone about the job? (I talked to I believe an HR lady before all of this, when I accepted the job, but nothing on the phone since) when can I expect being contacted by my manager? The whole hiring process has me nervous to start 😭

Thank you, sorry its long and ramble-y

QQ: leaving JPMC for another bank.

Hey All,

I was messaged and asked to interview at another bank and they made it very easy. Two 30 minute interviews and told me as long as everyone is aligned I’d get an offer after and they’d want me to start ASAP.

The job position is a clear step up and around another 30k-40k year depending on their initial offer.

The only thing is that I genuinely love working at JPMC, love the people, the work flow, and everything about my current situation at JPMC. If it wasn’t for more money I would never leave.

Does JPMC typically counter offer? I know I have great ratings, and manage really crucial applications that I built ground up. Would they counteroffer to match the expected salary or do they typically not care about keeping good talent?

Manager yelled at me in front of everyone over a deadline nobody ever gave us. I'm pregnant. What are my options?

I've been at my firm for slightly over a year now, working on a project that has changed completely from what it started as. Our manager had us working on use cases before the product was even partially ready, so we keep switching gears between tasks.

He also promised deadlines to higher-ups without consulting anyone on the team, and made decisions for the team based on what was convenient for him.

The tech lead is in a different location, so I sit with colleagues near my manager. He'll randomly walk up and ask when the product will be delivered. When I said I'm not the lead and am just completing my tasks, he told me I'll want a VP promotion someday and will need to lead then. Today he escalated and shouted at me in front of everyone around my desk, saying I should've finished the project already. No deadline was ever communicated to us, and it isn't my responsibility alone anyway.

He knows I'm pregnant and keeps pressuring me regardless. He also repeatedly tells me we need to work more than office hours, even though no one on the team has ever been given a deadline. I couldn't stop crying today. He's told me multiple times that he cares about his promotion and bonus, and it shows.

I'm thinking about leaving, but financially I can't afford to right now. I'm also considering going to my skip-level manager since this has happened repeatedly.

Has anyone been through something similar? Did going to the skip level help or backfire? Any advice on protecting myself while I figure out next steps?

Year end review process

Just started this past May, so going through my first year end review process. Now I've been in corporate long enough to know that this is just a check the box exercise, but what's the deal here at JPMC? Does my self review have any impact on my overall review? I spent some time writing it using the best practices from the kb FAQs, but I feel like no one is going to read it. My manager found it funny that the self review and the manager review are due around the same time, so I feel like none of this ultimately matters anyway.

My manager also said that my first year bonus is fixed given what I negotiated in my contract, but how does base pay salary change? Is it just a standard percentage basically? For what it's worth, I'm a VP in CIB product management in London.

Any thoughts from people who've been here a while?

Clicked into what I think is the Q4 phishing test, when will I know if I failed?

I clicked a link in the email from an internal targeted distribution list. The link asked for employee credentials so I closed everything and reported the email. Am I screwed? I’m anxious especially because I don’t want my manager pissed during eoy review season.

Can you increase base pay with lateral internal move?

I have a job offer for 603 Vp on another team. I am currently a 603 Vp so it’s a lateral move. Was trying to get a bump in base pay but was told that doesn’t happen unless it’s a step up to ED.

Anyone know if this is true?

Chase Travel Pune E Com the most worst team anyone can imagine

My Worst Experience with Chase Travel, Pune

I am writing this to share the mental harassment and torture I am facing with Chase Travel, Pune. It is giving me sleepless nights.

Unprofessional behavior, constant delays, false promises and complete lack of accountability. Instead of making travel easy, they made it extremely stressful bugy application and we are accounted for , Product ED is irresponsible and we are penalised , he has no clue of what is happening on the ground comes at 11 and leaves by 8 just completing hours . No proper response to anything you highlight and he is unaware of the facts busy discussing vacation plans with VP z , complete mess and making hard working people’s life is miserable by promoting bias , and sidelining the real talent for fake Vpz who are actually not deserving .

I faced severe mental stress because of trauma they give to employees at work,I request everyone to think twice before joining this Chase Travel

I hope the management at Chase Travel takes this seriously and improves and finds ways to make our life easier otherwise the future is dark and employees will keep on suffering.

Am I fine to resign after all clear email?

Hi folks,

Recently accepted the offer and last week - received the all clear email from JPMC post background check. Am I good to resign from the current company? Or they can still rescind offer?

My start date was for next week but because background check or all clear email didn’t come- I had not resigned from the job and has to request them to push the start date for 2 weeks after resignation.

Am I safe or screwed?

JP Morgan New Hire

For JPMC folks, a couple of questions:

1- Background Screening Level 1 Complete (said in the email) - how many levels of background checks do they do? (I'm a new hire and about to start training very soon)

2-Do you have any regulars at JP Morgan with unpaid debts/bills/credit cards? (I was asked by onboarding for proof that I'm willing to settle some unpaid credit card debts with Globe from about 6 years ago, but the truth is I can't afford to pay, it's around 80k in total, with 3 different companies)
