Amir Sperling:

"Tell me, have we lost our minds?

This question pops into my head in front of the fart show going on in the Prime Minister's Office. Leave the lawyers, investigations and criminal charges aside for a moment, let's talk about common sense.

A senior advisor, close to the plate, allegedly involved in leaking secrets from the heart of the army, sits and runs prompts in a chat to whitewash Qatar - the country that financed the Nuhba terrorists and all this while we bury dead and abducted people rotting in tunnels. And he's still there. Smiling. Tweeting. Threatening with silence lawsuits.

Imagine for a second that his name was Muhammad. An Israeli-Arab advisor in the PM office, who touches classified materials and runs plans to whitewash Sinwar's sponsor. The country would be on fire.

The Shin Bet would throw him into a basement that they haven't yet invented a number for, and Zion Square would be drowned in torches. Now imagine that this is an advisor to Yair Lapid or Gadi Eisenkot. What screams would come from Channel 14? What muscles would they do to him in the studios? They would shut down the country that evening.

But his name is Urich, and his boss is Netanyahu, and together they made an exit on a brilliant startup: the "persecution" narrative.

This is a brilliant and terribly cynical method. They turned the victim's position into a creamy shilling. Any security suspicion is immediately painted as a "coup d'état." Urich knows that as long as he screams that the Deep State is harassing the right, the base will train him to do anything. And Netanyahu rides this toxic ecosystem with glee, because the persecution card buys him the opportunity to keep his instigators of strife close, even when they are dealing with supporters of terrorism.

But the truly depressing truth, the one that truly crushes the soul, is that it's not just Netanyahu. How the hell isn't the earth shaking? Where is the Shin Bet? Where is the Israel Police? Bodies that are supposed to be the iron wall of our security are standing neutered. Instead of crushing an event like this like they crush subversion, they touch it with silk gloves, shaking it for fear that someone on Twitter will call them "lefties."

And where is our lousy media? Instead of turning the tables on this bankruptcy and stopping the broadcasts, they brag about it on panels as if it were another routine political spin or a gossip item about "who told whom." Normalizing the madness in succession.

Likud voters, people for whom security and statehood were once a religion, cheering from the stands, swallowed the persecution's slur whole. Our Holy of Holies has been broken into from within the house. A normal prime minister would have kicked such an official down the stairs without a second thought. Instead, the entire system collapses, Urich's keyboard continues to slander Israel's heroes, and we sit quietly and continue to get used to the stench rising from the windows.

Full-blown national bankruptcy."

Michael Shemesh:

"We must not get used to this. Urich worked for Qatar during wartime and continues to advise the Prime Minister of Israel."

I can't believe how lazy people are getting. They used to think about how to whitewash things themselves rather than asking a computer to do it for them.

Just 2 more weeks.

2 Weeks and all his scandals, all the shit previously under the rug, will come to light.

It's a weird feeling as an American worried about government corruption right now to read stories like this about the Israeli government and think, "hmm, maybe I don't have it as bad as I thought."

Oh I know. I try to go about my day not thinking about the real-life-but-dumb version of The Manchurian Candidate so I don't go stark raving mad.

It's like that episode of South Park where the Chinese government looks over everything Stan writes. Except the soldier in the background censoring stuff is Trump.

If it is true, it is testament to the poor quality and judgement of many politicians, and I hope he is replaced with someone better. Is there any objective proof?
