Question Vetting process

Quick question regarding vetting process. My application has been processed since the 9th October (last Friday). It says “Application submitted to NVB for processing” - (has said this for the past week). Im also aware that the DF do their own internal processing as well. Does anyone remember how long theirs took before they got to do the medical. Just going on holidays in December and I would not like to miss the medical so just curious am I better off changing my flights after the 17th December. Thanks

Army Re-enlisting after 8 years

Well lads, I left the army 7 years ago and went to Australia, been here since but thinking of returning to Ireland in the next year or 2. In a very different stage of life now and honestly think going back to the army could be a good shout giving that it's weekly pay and stable employment. I've a young family so don't want to go working in construction where I don't get home till all hours. I know part of the army is like that but it was great for time off.

Just wondering what's it like now or does anyone know someone who's been in the same boat.

Cheers

Army Day to day service

Hi all, I’m currently in the application process for general service army. (1st Brigade) bit of a simple question but I’m curious as to what the day to day looks like once you complete recruit training and are assigned to ur unit and barracks. What would you’re typical day look like? What kind of hours would you be doing a week etc. would love to know more..
