8/2026 Touring Ireland. This trip was life changing. So beautiful, so relaxed. If you're from the States and you go there, give yourself time, lots of time. Things close early and on Sunday a lot of the time, things are quite laid back so you are prolly moving too fast no matter what you do :). The speed limit is rarely met, and people who drive fast let them go by. Oh, and don't forget to put your polite pointer finger up when you let someone or they let you go by. It is obligatory, lol

Does anyone buy physical media, and if you don’t, why not? (I personally buy it but I’m just curious)

The furthest inhabited island off Ireland's coast. A couple of hills, the world's most remote GAA pitch and all the blackberries you can eat - in August, anyway.

Farmhouses and cultivated fields spread out across the eastern half, the west given over to commonage. There are few visitors here and, once past the dividing wall, it felt as wild and untouched as any place I have found in Ireland.

You can take the ferry from Roonagh, or for €15 one Mr. Heanue will be happy to take you by fishing boat from Cleggan at ~10AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The tourist office has his details.

While it can be done as a day trip, stick around - the pub is as warm and friendly as they come and the watchtower makes a perfect campsite.

N20. This morning

Between Banogue and the Patrickswell by pass.

articulated Lorry first leading the way

3 more cars behind that

me then in my spruce moose

3 cars behind me.

All doing 100kph. Handy out. Enjoyable journey.

Until;

Spotted this absolute fucking prick lifting a good bit back on the main road,

What did they do? Passed us all out on the inside lane (hard shoulder yellow line) doing 120-140km.

Passed 8 vehicles on the hard shoulder

Put on indicator to move in after passing us all out as if "that will do"

Absolute. Prick.

grey Volkswagen golf.

You are nothing but a fucking prick after that......

Cunt

Christ On A Bike New law same habits

It doesn't seem like anything has changed since the law about e bikes and scooters was introduced. Kids flying on the pavement 60+ kph wheelies around people. Scooters flying on red lights.

Cost of Living/Energy Crisis Three offering €12.99 for life

I moved from Three to Lidl connect after my last bill was €50 a month after incrementally creeping up from the €20 a month offer.
I moved to Lidl connect for €8.99 and three have been ringing me to offer me €12.99 a month for life!

Too little too late for me, but I thought I would share it for any existing three customers.
I would say it is worth ringing them and asking for this deal or threatening to leave!

Health Do any hairdressers give blowdry lessons?

Hi all - I am wondering if there are any classes by hairdressers that can teach me how to manage my hair better. It's always lovely when the hairdresser does it but kind of awful when I do it at home. I spent a fortune on a Dyson airwrap and it's no better. I see classes aimed at teenagers, and workshops for people who want to be hairdressers, but nothing for adults to do their own hair. My own hairdresser was slightly offended when I asked as she obviously wants me to keep coming in any time I need to look decent. Any suggestions appreciated!

edit: I have tried loads of tutorials on YouTube but don't seem to be getting the hang of it, I'd like someone in person to show me where I'm going wrong if possible. thanks all.
