SHOW SPOILERS How Were They Talking Telepathically Here? Spoiler

Post image

Like I understand how Space Racer and Nolan talked because Allen’s device updated but in this scene, Allen wasn’t there. Did Kregg just have a telepathic device of his own? Is Allen’s range just very large?

There’s a scene on the Venture, it’s announced over the loudspeakers for everyone to get comfortable because it’s a long trip and to show up to the med bay at some point to have telepathic implants installed.

Oh I missed that

I know people say this as a joke, but seriously leave your phone in another room when you’re watching a show you like. Active and critical consumption of media is really fulfilling when you give it a chance :)

I don't use my phone when watching this show and still missed this

This is lowkey crazy it’s just a throwaway line you can’t assume everyone will just remember everything

Is it really a throwaway line when it's explaining the entire reason they can communicate (answering this question?)

...yes.

Skill issue

Yea, the rest of us aren’t really following along each episode with a transcript in hand. Jokes aside, it’s perfectly normal for those of us who watch actively to miss small details like this - no need to jump to conclusions about phones.

Brother, claiming that this show is above your level of cognitive absorption is not the flex you think it is.

I don’t think you know what a flex is - I’m arguing for the exact opposite, some grace.. I forgot that this is Reddit, where not noticing every detail on the first watch apparently means you have a mental deficiency

Such is the nature of a comic book show. They're just gonna throw critical details at you off handedly and it's on us the viewers to recall stuff like that.

They’ve all got telepathic communicators

My question is, how the communicators not break when they are getting punched that hard in the face

Of course viltrum empire have their own telepathic device. They are not stupid enough to have worse tech than a single agent of COP lmao

Exactly, they spend so much time in the void with one another that it's pretty much essential for coordination.

they all probably got telepathic implants

He was sending vibrations through his thumbs directly into Mark's brain.

It’s best to assume every alien species has the implant

Thragg is just like that

They all have telepathic implants, likely the same type as the viltrumites since Thaedus defected and probably took one with him, which then probably got reverse engineered so the coalition knew how to make them

Everyone gets telepathic implants during the trip

the Viltrumites have their own to communicate between themselves and order troops

Better question is how was Mark choking in space, which is a vacuum, (especially since months earlier, Nolan had Oliver go to the desert planet for air) and how did Mark's (or anyone else's) blood not turn to ice the second it left their body?

I'm pretty sure it's explianed that only ones needs the implant? That's part of the reason why Immortal exploded against Allen

Simple explanation they didn’t want to animate lip flaps

It’s sad to think Conquest’s last spoken lines were said via telepathy

it isn't important, the writers dont care so neither should you

2

u/Representative-Fox55 1d ago

It’s is it’s explained in the show they have telepathic implants. And viltrumites who are constantly in space would likely need it have any conversation inbetween traveling planets.

It’s not stop trying to explain bad writing
