DISCUSSION That definitely wouldn't have ended well...for Conquest

Post image

One of the few times in his life Conquest actually thought through.... I think he had a VERY good Idea about what Thragg is in comparison to everyone , now him thinking of throwing hands kinda fits because he was an outlier among them BUT Thragg was made for the purpose of growing the Empire yk he is bred to be the strongest.

Even a cold-blooded barbarian like Conquest knows there's someone always stronger than him.

22

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 1d ago

Yep albeit that is very rare ..... that's why he never became serious with Mark until way later in their battle

u/t0ndrra 2d ago

this was the strongest conquest in the series as well

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 2d ago

Yep , not a prosthetic hand and both eyes

101

u/t0ndrra 2d ago

plus it's pre scourge + he is younger (he passed his prime during mark fight)

25

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yep albeit they don't decline that fast , but yeah probably...also scourge didn't recuded his strength permanently I think , during that only & he lost his limbs on Ragnar world during that as well

I wonder how close the fight between Conquest and Thragg would be. Thragg should win decisively but how well would Conquest do?

9

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 1d ago

Thragg mid diff him I think

5

u/SuperIkenna 1d ago

Makes sense. Yeah. But I really wonder how big the strength difference is. I it can't be more than 10 times right? Maybe 3 times stronger? Or Double? I don't really know how large the gap needs to be for Thragg to dominate in the way he does.

1

u/Odd_Room2811 1d ago

Probably have made him have to have been looked at at least but not anything serious

5

u/Mandarin4_1 1d ago

conquest realizing that picking a fight with thragg is a one way ticket to the afterlife is the only time that guy used tactical retreat logic

1

u/Zealot2_9 1d ago

the scaling difference between regular elite viltrumites and someone bred specifically like thragg is wild to discuss in the fandom

31

u/itsmeyaboiskinneypyn 1d ago

Seeing as how much damage conquest dealt to battle-beast, I'm not so sure. Thraag would absolutely beat conquest, but it wouldn't be easy.

10

u/akolomf 1d ago

Makes me think about how the 2nd mark vs conquest fight could have been better explainable if mark first destroyed conquests artificial arm and then choking him, that'd have given us viewers a better reason how mark managed to choke out conquest. Because now he only has 1 arm to actually do something and it would show mark found conquests weakness, his arm + he likes to play around and mark actually used a srategy to defeat him.

Thragg mid diff Conquest

-2

u/diAlectics_8 The Viltrumites 1d ago

Lmao, powerscaler detected. Let me just say that it's a no.

0

u/intestineh 1d ago

No diff means you literally don't take any damage from a character. Thragg took damage from Kregg Anissa and Lucan which means he at best low diff these three (in 1v1), at best mid diff peak conquest.

-1

u/diAlectics_8 The Viltrumites 1d ago

That's not even how fights work in real life. It's not merely a simple 1 + 1 +1 + 1 = 4 and 4 = 4 so that means 4 - 2 is equals to 2. You claim that 0 = no diff, 1 = low diff, 2 = mid diff, 3 = high diff, and 4 = extreme diff.

But even powerscaling itself tries to be more nuanced than that simpleton of a claim of yours, hence they have concepts such as "extreme-mid diff", "extreme-high diff", "mid-low diff", "low-high diff", etc.

It's like you're claiming that you've somehow managed to do the math as if you have a comprehensive detail of the power level of said viltrumites, when there isn't.

1

u/intestineh 1d ago

That's not what I meant. I meant 1. if you hurt a character that character can't no diff you

  1. using this logic Thragg can't no diff Anissa Kregg or Lucan, so it would at least low-mid diff for Thragg to beat peak conquest since conquest is massively stronger than 3 of them in 1v1.

1

u/diAlectics_8 The Viltrumites 1d ago

And due to that fact, things get even a lot more complicated due to its dynamism. One fight scene shows a top tier character get hurt by D-tier characters while the other scenes show they could sustain blows from other D-tier characters… or could even get hurt by objects that's not expected to hurt them or manipulated by powerful beings. I can show you a crap ton of examples for this, so just say the word.

It's not as easy or linear as you think it is.

That's pretty much what he wants, Conquest is the most loyal soldier to the Viltrumite Empire which is why he he didn't go through with it since he respects the Grand Regent

11

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 2d ago

Yep & also he knows it won't end well for him & also I think Thragg didn't initiate it because he knows how strong Conquest is...any other soldier would have been killed by him straight up

11

u/AltruisticCan6607 2d ago

Yeah, and I wonder if before Thragg, Conquest was the strongest Viltrumite alive since he is much older than Thragg but I guess we'll never know

4

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 1d ago

He probably was

40

u/HelldiverWilly 1d ago

Everybody in this comment section is severely under-estimating how strong Thragg is. Conquest would get absolutely bodied. Maybe get a few good hits in bc Thragg would allow it, but that’s literally it.

0

u/alteredcardon 1d ago

Conquest tied with battle beast while thragg nearly lost to him, from this we can assume that thragg is stronger than battlebeast and conquest is around equal to him. So it is NOT low diff or even mid diff

6

u/HelldiverWilly 1d ago

Thragg was severely injured before his fight with battle beast. I know BB also injured himself, but Thragg was not 100% going into this fight. I don’t think it’s fair to hold too much against him given there was so many other factors playing into this fight.

You can’t tell me you’ve watched/read every scene Thragg has been in, and seen every scene conquest was in and tell me they are even close to each other’s strength.

Thragg ate full power punches from Mark and Omni man and barely even flinched (if it all). Mark was landing full power punches on conquest and dealing actual damage. The power scaling is all sorts of wack in this comic, but it’s pretty obvious Thragg is levels above even the strongest in his army.

3

u/DinoKing72 16h ago

This was a younger and weaker battlebeast though.

2

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 1d ago

Yep , Thragg mid diffs Conquest

7

u/HelldiverWilly 1d ago

I’m hesitant to even call it mid diff. I’m leaning more towards low-mid diff. Idek if that’s a thing, but I’d imagine it to be rather easy for Thragg to kill Conquest.

6

u/Livid_Drummer_4632 Powerplex 1d ago

I would've said that's too high. But this is prime Conquest, so... I'll allow it

2

u/HelldiverWilly 1d ago

And tbh I only said that bc I think Thragg would let it drag out a little bit. So in reality I should’ve said low diff for sure

-1

u/Lusty-Jove 1d ago

Prime Conquest had grey hair?

5

u/KermitTheFraud92 Amber Bennett 1d ago

Marks' strongest punch barely fazed Thragg, and he could barely hold a candle to Conquest a few months beforehand. Imagine the power gap between Conquest and Thragg when considering that. Also this was before Conquest lost his Arm and Eye so it might be fair to say that he wasn't as feared here

2

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 1d ago

He definitely knew his limits & that's why he didn't get along with his intrusive thoughts , Thragg mid diff him

12

u/Potential-Raccoon731 2d ago

Conquest lived so long as a Viltrumite he was absolutely tired of the Viltrum Empire he probably wanted to die. Being a viltrumite just sounds miserable and you spend 5000+ years as one.

-1

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 2d ago

Nah...he enjoyed slaughtering and crushing worlds & beings beneath his feet , he definitely wasn't looking for it to end anytime soon

10

u/diAlectics_8 The Viltrumites 1d ago edited 1d ago

Now I'm not saying in any way that Conquest would come out victorious, but I think he'll definitely give Thragg a run for his money. He wanted to dare himself and Thragg so bad so as to have the time of his life, as it's evident that nobody really stood a chance against him.

What made him back down is that apart from being slightly outmatched, he reckoned that the results would even be more one-sided as he sensed that all the other viltrumites within his vicinity will intervene. It would no longer be considered a duel as it would likely end up being a lynch mob. Attacking Thragg to a duel would also mean further isolation from his comrades if the former chooses to spare him.

And may I just mention that Conquest wasn't trying to usurp Thragg here. As I said, he literally just wanted a challenge. I'm sure Conquest knows that he's incapable of leading.

EDIT: I MEANT TO SAY FORMER!

10

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 1d ago

Thragg mid diff him , Mark could hurt Conquest whereas he couldn't do shit to Thragg

1

u/Brinewielder 1d ago

Thragg gets jumped and is almost killed by Anissa, Thula, Krieg, and Lucan. All of them are much weaker than Conquest.

If Nolan did not call them off Thragg would have been dead much earlier in the series.

1

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 1d ago

4 vs 1 is different from 1vs 1 , Conquest is stronger but not by a really wide margin & he's a Beast yk not actually a great fighter & I think those 4 are better fighters for sure

1

u/diAlectics_8 The Viltrumites 1d ago

Conquest is stronger but not by a really wide margin

If that were really the case, then that would greatly undermine the narrative, which always acts as an arbiter or final authority in terms of confirming or affirming whether a claim is true or not.

Conquest wouldn't be "feared" by individual viltrumites especially those on the top brass if the power or skill gap between them operate on comparable terms — that is literally claiming that even if the odds are against one of them (Nolan, Anissa, Lucan, Thula, Kregg), they would still have a decent chance of defeating him even if they lose most of the time.

1

u/Brinewielder 1d ago

4 shouldn’t matter if they all are weak individually. They don’t have compounded power buff together.

4

u/TheAngriestPoster 1d ago

Have you been jumped in real life? You could get jumped by four bums and struggle even if you’re a trained fighter who could beat any of them easily in a 1v1. Numbers are an incredible advantage

2

u/Brinewielder 1d ago

Getting jumped doesn’t suddenly reduce your durability.

Mark was struggling to even damage Thragg and four people with weaker attack strength shouldn’t apply a magic debuff and reduce his durability.

0

u/TheAngriestPoster 1d ago

You have discovered bad writing

1

u/t-_-rexranger19205 1d ago

not just struggle, you'd LOSE to 4 bums

0

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 1d ago

Jumping is a big advantage , Individually guardians weren't shit to Nolan but together even they were a mean team

2

u/Brinewielder 1d ago

Individually they had a better shot than Mark vs Thragg.

War Woman and Red Rush did a decent amount of damage. In fact the suprise went two ways as the guardians very well could have killed Nolan if they weren’t in shock, but each individual could at least damage Nolan which isn’t the case for Mark v Thragg (yet).

1

u/diAlectics_8 The Viltrumites 1d ago

Exactly this! This is why I always claim that power scaling almost always becomes redundant or irrelevant, as it does always turn against the argument for itself.

1

u/BigBeeff_21 Dinosaurus 1d ago

STOP USING MARK AS A POWER SCALING RULER!📏 📐

3

u/BigBeeff_21 Dinosaurus 1d ago

I totally agree with you, there was alot of psychology that was happening in that few moments and I love how they did it.

I personally think Thragg would use Conquests ego and way of life against him.

6

u/diAlectics_8 The Viltrumites 1d ago

True, letting Conquest live further serves as his punishment. He knows that no matter how many civilizations he takes over or how many battles he comes out triumphant, Conquest would never win the hearts of his companions.

But that's something powerscalers wouldn't understand. For them, everything about the show or primarily, are just actions, and explosions, and fantastic feats.

Thragg is two tapping conquest

u/diAlectics_8 The Viltrumites 1d ago

Source: trust me bro

2

u/Landonskiii_ 1d ago

If you watched episode 7 then you understand show Thragg is deadass pretty much invincible atp

2

u/Additional_Degree894 Debbie Grayson 1d ago

Yea until thragg pulls out the vortex punch

0

u/diAlectics_8 The Viltrumites 1d ago

Not a clever reply you think it is. This is why I consider powerscaling a massive brain rot. It's not like it's the most destructive move in the show. We've seen Thragg decapitate Thaedus without a need for huge shockwaves. We've seen punches from other viltrumites immediately incapacitating other viltrumites without producing shockwaves as well. And we've seen that the only damage that "vortex punch" you call is only minor internal bleeding to the site of the strike.

So what is your point?

1

u/Additional_Degree894 Debbie Grayson 1d ago

My point is If tht punch had enough force to drag in Nolan and send him into outer orbit itll do the same too conquest.

If Conquest was already Sizing Thragg up and decided it wasnt worth it Then in a reality where he decides it is. The Vortex Punch Puts him in Check. Now if youd like to say Conquest would recover, Fly back, and still be aggressive. if its of the setting in which they are finishing the purge Thragg would command the rest of the Viltrumites too attack him in which they overwhelm him with thragg dealing the final blow.

And if its in a 1v1 setting Thragg would continue to lay hands on Conquest w/ thragg goin for punches and rips as he does against thaddeus and nolan. And Conquest Dealing damage but not enough to stop Thragg before he shreds through conquest durability espescially if Thragg repeats the Vortex Punch.

10

u/Professional-Tank848 2d ago

Well, yeah.

5

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 2d ago

Ik that , I'm just saying Conquest thinking through & not just jumping in because he usually does & wins shows that he knows sometimes that it's not worth it yk..... that's why he lost to Mark because he didn't consider him a threat

4

u/Ligabove 2d ago

If he had tried to attack him, I imagine the other Viltrumites would have torn him to pieces for such an act of insubordination.

4

u/Senatius 1d ago

I don't know that they would, though it's possible.

I'm sure they would spit on his corpse afterwards, but it's a "strongman" society, and Thragg is Mr.Strongman himself. I don't think Thragg would want or accept protection from Conquest by "lesser" Viltrumites, because him even having the perception of weakness goes against his entire ideology and image as a ruler

Conquest was the second strongest of them. I think Thragg would want to handle it himself. Really leave zero doubt in anyone's mind that he's top dog

2

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 1d ago

That & Thragg didn't initiate it as well yk any other Viltrumite would have been killed by him but he gave Conquest a warning because he knows how strong he is & Conquest knows how strong Thragg is

3

u/TheHoloPebble 1d ago

Well, obviously.

3

u/RosegoldChemtrails Anissa 1d ago

‏conquest is my hear me out

4

u/Potential-Raccoon731 2d ago

I also wonder how much of a companionship can you have with Viltrumites that he felt he was slighted? They seem like such hard asses it feels almost like Conquest picked up these feelings from experiences with other alien races. Every Viltrumite feels lonely. If you're weak other Viltrumites will just stomp on you there's no friends there at all.

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 2d ago

He clearly was , no one is as strong as Conquest... only Thragg surpassed him.

Mark beat him because Conquest didn't take him seriously until the last moments in their battle , Mark knew he can't win in a fist fight straight up & that's why he decided to choke him and even then he was almost killed by Conquest.

1

u/Additional_Degree894 Debbie Grayson 1d ago

nope.

1

u/otibo1 Damien Darkblood 1d ago

Why did Conquest say "Yes!"

1

u/Winnermaster2 Battle Beast 18h ago

Maybe maybe not

1

u/Get-the-Ketchup 16h ago

While Thragg most certainly would win. People don't give Conquest enough credit. And also people say the other viltrumites like Thula preparing to help had no impact on Conquests decision. It most certainly did. Because you're not just about to jump someone you might already think is stronger than you, but everyone else around you is gonna attack you as well. It's gonna be a 3v1 then. And one of them you already think is stronger than you. It's just overkill.
