As posted on the Ingress telegram channel:
Agents, we’re sorry for the server latency at the end of the last Septicycle.
To make up for it, a free Rare Battle Beacon will be available in the in-app Store every day until the Cygnus Global Battles end.

Seriously why do we have a button that just sends us to the Dispatch screen without even bringing up the relevant campaign? Why not just replace the original Dispatch button with this new icon and add the timer over/under it of it does the same anyway?

I think it looks great.

Where are the new gameplay elements? Where is the new storyline? Could you please share why the game feels like it has completely stalled? Why is there no development in terms of core mechanics or narrative at all?

A new feature to help Ingress agents track their progress across Anomaly Seasons!
https://agentrank.cradlelabs.com/anomaly/cygnus
The new Anomaly Season feature brings seasonal metrics together, so you can see how your achievements stack up across different seasons.
- Cygnus Season (October–December) is now active!
- Track your Anomaly Tokens and Battle Beacons
- Follow your progress against seasonal achievement thresholds
- See how your stats measure up across the season
Agent Rank is also bringing historical seasons into the picture, including Orion and Apollo, so there's more to explore than just the current season.
Whether you're grinding for tokens or collecting Battle Beacon points, AgentRank is making it easier to keep track of your Anomaly achievements.
💚💙 Your Ingress journey, your stats, your achievements.
Check it out on AgentRank and let us know what you think!

Location: Boulder, Colorado, USA (Historic Boulder Courthouse on the Pearl Street Mall)
Date: 11 October 2026 (Second Sunday)
Accomplishments: Multiple agents obtaining Gold Cygnus Global Battle badge and progress on their Cygnus Anomaly Season badge.
We had a turnout rivaling that of First Saturday at our hastily organized friendly xfac Battle Beacon gathering at the Pearl Street Mall in sunny Boulder Colorado. With close to 100 battle beacons deployed as we walked the pedestrian mall and nearby creek path, we had a blast making quick work getting progress and our badges.
The only near disaster was when we were admiring a beautiful repurposed cottonwood stump that is a giant little free library and Ingress portal while having a group discussion about needing more bursters to “blow things up”… while the homeowner was out front!!! I don’t think it was entirely clear to them that we were talking about out our game, but thankfully we must not have looked threatening, or all of us staring at our phones was a giveaway that we were just a bunch of gaming nerds!
Thanks to all who joined and put up with yet another “oops, another event we weren’t aware of” festival taking place today.
Hope other communities can organize to get this badge. As others have said, it would have been really helpful if Niantic had made some indicator showing that you had interacted with a battle beacon, but if you simply overwhelm with number of deployed beacons and interactions you make, it works out in the end assuming agreed upon cooperation. Best of luck all who are trying.
How can you not anticipate the end of the septicycle and surge in activity when you plan an event around battle beacons.
I had 140+ keys and scheduled bb’s with some of my teammates and I could not recharge. Couldn’t even open the game.
When the game finally loaded I couldn’t recharge, couldn’t work with capsules. How does this happen? It’s unbelievable. So much time wasted doing scans, exchanging keys with other players. I just cancelled my core; you can keep your badges. I’m so over it.

Back when the [forums closed down](https://ingress.com/en/news/2024-forum-update) ,the post noted that “…Ingress team is also looking at ways it can engage with the community regularly such as hosting AMAs on reddit, Dev Diaries, and more.”
Since that we have had…three dev diaries with two being about the same thing [with the rewiring](https://ingress.com/en/news/rewiring-xm-network) of the [Portal Network](https://ingress.com/news/2026-nia-debrief) and then Alex’s one on [Pinkgress](https://ingress.com/en/news/2024dev-scannerrenderingupdate) and maybe one AMA when Thia was still about? (I know I did one with Brian for the podcast, but not everyone will seek that out and there’s a bunch more people who will read a Reddit AMA than listen to me chat to Brian I think - if I’m wrong, let me know, happy to ask him again)
Now it’s irritating when we get a comment from Brian Rose here about something that should be communicated wider, or we get a blog post updated such as the [Second Sunday](https://ingress.com/en/news/2026-i2supdate) post which was shared on 14th September getting an update on 29th September, over two weeks later to say the MU had changed to 250.
Does it hurt or cost to have a social media post to say it has been updated, or even republish the news post with the update so it is clearer?
It would be great to get any kind of interim update published on the news pages/social channels on how rewriting the network is going as the last update was in July, or on any progress on OPR. Is it stalled whilst this is worked on, if so, communicate that so Agents at least have an idea.
I know the forums ended up being a space where you were talking to a brick wall because Niantic clearly stopped interacting with or caring about it, but now it feels they aren’t even bothering to update the player base on important changes and are hoping someone will glance at a two week old post again and see there has been an update.
Just getting out a few frustrations, hope the team read them.

And with that, I think ill take a break from scanning for a bit aha. Probably not going to go for more tbh. This pushed me to the Bronze season medal, naturally.
Im going back to bed. Have a good Thanksgiving weekend, Canadian Agents!

Hey Agents, hope you’re having a good Sunday. This weeks episode goes over the recently announced Campaigns and a little bit of the Recon clarifications.
Next week will be the first Shard Storm and we will be creeping close to November and the anniversary event so hopefully have some news for that.
There’s also a Redux episode due out on Wednesday 14th October and the podcast is steadily working towards 100,000 plays which is crazy. It’ll also be 3 years since I started it later this month so I’ll post up something for that as well!
Happy hacking!

They said they reduced requirement to 250MU but still 1000MU on in-game(scanner). Is this normal?

Trying to get core subscription on iOS, but there is nowhere to purchase it, the in-game store takes me to iTunes subscriptions, but only shows current ones, no purchase option, anyone else experiencing this issue or have a solution?

Today is October 10th, which means we are a little over a month away from the Ingress Birthday, mid November.
Over the past several months we have all had Nominations reviewed by the Ingress team and Vanguards. Yet this system is not available for use by players.
Given that significant time has passed since OPR and Nominations were disabled (along with Overclock), and that it is likely the Ingress team and Vanguards are potentially testing a new system.
What is the likelihood now of us Nominating again for new Portals?
And
Whether this potentially, new OPR, will be made available to players?

💥 Cygnus Global Battles in Mexico City 💥
On October 1, when the Cygnus Global Battles event began, 17 Ingress agents from Mexico City and the State of Mexico gathered to earn the event medals.
The meeting was scheduled for 9:00 PM near the Monumento a la Revolución. At 10:00 PM, the agents began walking around the area, deploying over 200 Battle Beacons. By approximately 1:00 AM, after walking more than 10 kilometers, they had earned 4 silver medals, 13 gold medals, and 13 bronze medals for the Cygnus Anomaly Season.
Coordination and teamwork among all the agents were essential to ensure that everyone could interact with all the portals. And, of course, the event was also a great opportunity to chat, share some laughs, and enjoy a memorable gathering together!

On 3 October 2026, the Green Belt Movement together with allied agents carried out Operation Who Dares Wins as part of the Fire and Water campaign.
The operation resulted in a 2.4 billion MU field spanning the area of operations.
This sitrep documents the operation, the agents who made it possible, and the story behind the field.
They answered the call.
They dared the journey.
And they won.

Backstory: A res agent that was loved by many of us enlightened agents passed away in the beginning of 2026. About early June we saw her name on portals in our part of the state so I reached out to the players husband and asked if he knew anything about it. Radio silence from him for months, all the while her name was popping up in tandem with his. He was utilizing her account as a high level backpack and creating high level portals and farms all across his home area (which is a major part of our state and large tourist area). He only answered me when I went down there and destroyed all portals with her name on them. He was asked to stop by many of us on our team as well as his, but he wasn't having it. After 3 trips down there, he finally answered me and said he would only use both accounts in his part of the state. I reported him for multi accounting and then left it alone.
Today, he has popped back up in my area and is back to the same way of playing. He is in a major hub in our area with his wife's account and his creating high level portals.
My question is this: Is multi accounting okay when it's a deceased family members account you are playing on alongside yours?
I ask because I've submitted 2 reports on him and my teammates have submitted reports and nothing has come of it.
Edit: as far as I know, this post doesn't break any rules of the sub reddit but if it did, please tell me where and I'll fix it.
Cold weather has started to set in in Oslo, but that didn't stop "the Crazy Vikings" from carrying out another FS event.
The 36 registered participants turned Oslo into a mecca of neon lights, and battle beacons dominated the map for a couple of hours! As always, there was a great atmosphere afterwards :) and only friendly banter.
