Intoxicated lady punches me through open window
Watch until the end!!!
Memorial Day a few years back a lady just walked up to my car window and hit meš„² car was off so I couldnāt roll the window up lol. Only charged w harassment and a few hours at the station
Had a random gash in her arm and got blood in my eyeā bunch of shots and a few weeks of antibiotics
Edit- For more context: I am the person IN the car getting hit, not recording lol. I am also not related to and had no idea who these people are. They were having a party across the street and she stumbled into the parking lot.
Iām eating ice cream with the window down, family in the back seats. Person with the car key was still inside ice cream shop. Car was off so I couldnāt roll the window back up.
The person recording is her sister in law, the lady had been screaming/cursing/stumbling around for several minutes. Not the best place because itās an ice cream store and Memorial Day weekend, so a bunch of kids saw it.
After she hit me she proceeded to physically assault a man I assume is her husband. Not sure why SIL recorded, maybe just for proof to show her when sheās not intoxicated; she mentioned that she ādoes this a lotā in terms of getting aggressive when drunk. SIL sent me the video and was very apologetic and wanted me to have evidence I guess.
Best part: I didnāt drop or spill any of the ice cream I was eating ššš
TL;DR: Iām the one in the car. Donāt know these people. Person recording was ladyās SIL.

Was there any connection between you and the lady who was filming her on the video? Or was this totally random? And why was she not charged with assault?

She was charged with harassment that night, not sure why maybe because I said I wasnāt hurt (??) idk. Couldnāt press assault charges because it would be double jeopardy, according to a lawyer we talked to

That makes no sense to me because she clearly committed battery by physically putting her hands on you.

One would think lolš¤·āāļø they charged her that night, she pled guilty, and I couldnāt do anything moving forward. She didnāt have any assets or big things to her name so I didnāt care much, I think the whole thing is funny because what the hell

Lololol why you out picking fights with someone drunk as a skunk... You are not much better than this drunk, in fact you were the sober one and honestly makes you worse than her for not having some sense to just go on with your day...

What? Seems like they knew each other and were able to get personal. This seems to be someone trying ti embarrass someone else posting an old video.

Video seems perfectly clear. Who got confused? And if they really did ( and weren't just playing the Reddit game), who cares?

Misty from PokƩmon really coming down on some hard times. A shame to see

Well Iād say the person recording should have just punched her when she started advancing and before it came to all that, drunk ppl go down very easily. Per Redditās policies the only self defense I can advise is burying your head in the sand and spreading your buttocks though

That's fuckin fun. Bizarre to attack you as an innocent bystander who wasn't even out of your vehicle.
Sounds like you need to file a civil suit against the woman AND the police department. Btw, I worked in civil law for the courts at a high level for a decade. You have a case against both. The only question is does the woman have ANY assets to seize, hopefully the husband she assaulted accumulated some shared assets. The police department carries liability insurance that will cover the suite, usually somewhere between $150k to 2.5mil depending on department size. (This would be on the lower end of that, and you would lose 25 to 40% of whatever is gained from both parties to the attorney, plus taxes.)
Do it. That was ridiculous. And ridiculous to not charge her with assault, especially when she "does it all the time" AND it was on video.

Sound like these 2 are sisters. She said something about camera womans kid and camera woman said "you are going to bekng your autistic niece into this"
Side note: I hate when parents reduce kids down to "autistic kid" and use the label everytime they mention the child. They are trying to make autism their whole identity when the kids have individual personalities and interests and just happen to be autistic or sometimes they aren't even.

Alcoholism is the only disease you can get in trouble for having

Alcoholism is a choice, not a disease.
She had the option to not start drinking, she made a choice to do so.

So same thing for drug addicts?? This would revolutionize Portland and seattles social worker scene

The disease is addiction and a person can be predisposed like anything else passed down genetically. It falls more under mental health.

There is a difference between alcoholism, MS, and the measles.
Conflating them is not doing anyone justice.
If a person with alcoholism were separated from alcohol, they would not be sick. That cannot be said for other diseases.
It is a disorder, but much like manic disorders - you are still liable for your own actions.
While we are here. I believe the AHA caused a lot of issues calling alcoholism a disease. It, too, is a disorder.

Itās not a disease in the sense of a virus that spreads but falls under mental health like schizophrenia . The disease is addiction. It can be controlled but not always by sheer will.

AHA caused issues calling this a disease. Note that only the AHA called it that.
It is better called a disorder. Manic disorders are not viral either. And has similarities to alcoholism in this context (struggling with can result in arrest). Schizophrenia is a disorder.
Calling it uncontrollable by will is a problem in my opinion. That is enabling language.
Ive seen alcoholism up close in multiple cases in my life. I understand the issue. And this sort of language does not help. I promise.
We should not discourage those with the disorder to express their own willpower. We should remind them they are in control. And that their addiction is no excuse.
Struggling with addition is extremely difficult. But it is not a free pass.

Not a fucking disease. You can't contract alcoholism.

Whoever took the video wanted more internet likes than defending their own children or getting out of Chaos's way and should feel bad for it. Anything for Gram and internet fame instead of taking care of one's own I guess.
