this has been sitting in my drafts for weeks and i finally finished:

arctic foxes having cake | Airy angel food cake with a messy crust, just out of the oven. No spice

ugh I love this. it's butery white cake, not too sweet and definitely not cloying. there's something else, though..something warm..fuzzy..the oven!! the cake is fresh out the oven, and it shows...this is the right amount of smoky and sweet. i love this for the winter.
the only thing that's stopping me from full sizing is that it's not available in EDP format </3, it's gorg but not strong enough for me to buy the FS oil since it's more subtle.

barmbrack | Freshly baked bread with a thick crust and a bit of butter (vegan accord of course), slightly yeasty but not sour. No sweetness. 

loveeee. it's YEASTY, crispy, realistic bread!!! so comforting. I will be getting the FS bc they have it in EDP format. very buttery as well. i love that it has no sweetness cause I've been layering this with milky scents and it slaps.

steamy | Freshly steamed Basmati rice! That's it. That's all there is. 

agh i wanted to love this..it smelled divine in the bottle..but on my skin it turned into sour playdough and i hated it! destashing.

mochi bread | bread of rice & wheat flours, baked with black sesame seeds throughout. No sweetness, very heavy on the sesame

another one i expected to love but it didn't work out. it's also sour playdough on my skin, although it smells nice and strong on the sesame when i sniff the bottle.

aerobraking | The combination of warm machine oil, cold titanium, and the slightly stale scent of re-circulated oxygen.

this is insane! i expected something sligtly oil scented, nothing crazy.. this is straight up machine oil omfg lol, it gave me a horrible sense of dread! i don't like it. my husband loved it though so i'm keeping the sample for fun.

starship mechanic | Working among the generators and weapons control areas all day ensures the scents of titanium, steel tools, engine oil, and fuel stick to their skin and hair for hours. Even after a scented shower, mixing with the lingering fragrances of bergamot, woods, and patchouli, their line of work is fairly obvious when you get close. But you don't mind at all.

another weird one that I was excited about but it also gave me a sense of dread.. I guess I don't like space, makes me feel too small..this one is nice on my husband though and he's been wearing it randomly and we both laugh cause it smells like he's been working with heavy machinery all day and showered recently..pretty accurate to the notes!

abandoned space station | Cool, stale air. Overly greased interior doors for recent forced manual entry. Disused machinery, many parts stripped away for spares or scrap. The kinetic secondary lights still worked though, which made the environment a little more unsettling.

unsettling is right.....this makes me feel scared like when i watched zathura as a kid and had an irrational fear i'd end up lost in space too! the "overly greased" is no joke, a bit too much grease for me :( very dread-inducing. another fun hit for my husband, he even brought the past 3 to his job to show his coworkers lolol, they were all like "Wtf is that..it smells exactly like ___" and they were marveled at how you can smell like something beyond dior sauvage.

urban legends | Classic pink bubblegum, freshy turned soil, and a very slight metallic scent. 

i was so excited about this one..the pink bubblegum, soil and metal? sounds so cool. sadly on me this was NASTY, the bubblegum turned into a orange creamsicle and i despise those. all I could smell was orange, followed by some earthiness and no metallicness :( wish i could like this.

conchas | sweet yeast bread made with quite a bit of milk & cream and topped with sweet streusel containing just the barest hint of vanilla.

queue miley cyrus adore you!! this is gorgeous. it's not too sweet, it's BREADY and yeasty and warm. i hateeee vanilla extract and i actually don't even eat conchas cause i find them overly sugary so I expected to hate this one but i love it...i want the EDP full size!

white dragon | Buttery white cake topped with sliced fresh lychees and lychee syrup.

oooo nice. this is BUTTERY CAKE and the lychee is as realistic as it gets.. this is a bit tart/sharp cause of the lychee but the cake balances it out. very nice!

jade dragon | mango accord drenched in sweetened vanilla and a few drops of condensed milk, with slight hints of coumarin and tonka

ultra realistic mango, woww! i usually hate mango but i've been getting into it. the condensed milk does a great job at balancing the tartness of the mango but it's still MANGOMANGOMANGO, so if you're a mango lover go get this. i'm happy with just my sample. this works anytime of the year, very fun

Gabjinnyeon |  Highly fragrant new growth of Siberian fir needles dominates, with accents of oakmoss, vetiver, ho wood, black pepper, sandalwood, cashmeran, neroli, and caramel.

very elegant, cold, winter woody scent. my skin amps up the black pepper so this isn't a fulll love, but i can see myself wearing my sample in the winter.

i love this house! it's so creative and unique, i also bought a couple minis of their eyeshadow and one lip paint, so here are photos of those..

the lip paint (dryad kisses) this is very nice! it's very soft and buttery, not sticky whatsoever and not drying. it's quite pigmented and reflective, the colors are so cool! i can see myself trying many other colors! i'll add photos in the comments later

the eyeshadow is so sparkly, and the mini sample portion is very generous, i love how many shades they have. i was looking for something halloween-y and these hit the mark. they also gave me a free sample and I like it a lot, great choice!

I'm looking for a savory or oddity perfume lover 😂 The brand Pierrot Perfumery recently announced they will ne closing permanently once they run out of stock. I went and grabbed up a few things I was hopeful for. Including a previously unreleased scent called Mooncheese. I had been expecting something like Commodity Milk, but an artistic indie take. It smells like cheese 🥲 like stirring parmesan cheese into cream cheese. It's creamy, lactonic, and pungent! Hello! Has anyone tried Oo-de-Lally or Strangeling? I’m really curious what these two are like and how banana-y Oo is. Also if anyone has tried Creature Feature how sweet would you say it leans?

I've recently gotten into fragrances and have purchased so many 1ml decants from decant sites. Probably like 50 lol. When i finally sampled farmhouse in winter by solstice scents, it was everything i was looking for. Woody, balsam fir, Smoky campfire, spices, with a little bit of toasted marshmallow and my favorite of all the notes- something akin to candle wax. It was kinda like beside the fireplace but less gourmand which is what i was looking for. I couldnt stop sniffing my wrists all day and by the end of the day i i hunted until i could find a full bottle and i bought it- the first and only FB i have purchased on my sampling journey. After that first try, i couldn't find my sample for about a week but i was happy because i knew i had a fb on the way. I continued to sample a new decant every day or every other day.

Well today i found my sample so i sprayed it on this evening for a cozy night in and it just doesn't smell the same. I'm not sure why but it just smells so vanilla-y and gourmand now and im kindof disappointed i bought a full bottle.

I know lots of things can impact smell, like body chemistry and even mindset.

I'm actually not quite sure what my question is but maybe i just want to know others experiences with this fragrance?

Also just wanted to note, i really don't like to layer perfumes. I will occasionally, but i don't want to HAVE to layer a perfume in order to enjoy it. Perfumes are already layered.

Has anyone tried Andromeda’s Moon London fog take?? I really love the house of Brandt version but it’s so expensive! Curious if anyone has compared the two and found them similar

Hi everyone! I’m on the hunt for some new winter fragrances and would LOVE your recommendations!
I’m open to indie, niche, and even designer fragrances, but I’m trying to keep my budget at $120 or less. I’m also really hoping to discover some lesser-known perfume houses, so please put me onto your hidden gems!

My only real requirement is that they be EDPs rather than perfume oils. I’m pretty open to different scent profiles, so don’t be afraid to recommend something a little unconventional or unexpected.

I’d especially love to hear about smaller houses that deserve more attention. What are you wearing this winter? What fragrances do you think are criminally underrated?

hi, happy thursday! i'm requesting a review of deconstructing eden's doomed (storm pressure, rain striking black glass, violet lightning, fevered skin, black iris, crushed narcissus, salted tears, bruised plum skin, drowned asphalt, extinguished amber, moonless musk and the last warmth of a dying electrical current) from anyone who's tried it.

it sounds so pretty, but i have a personal policy not to blind buy FSes and also have a history of being sensitive to ozonic notes, unfortunately.

i'm particularly interested in the imagery it evokes from the description - of an uncanny streak of neon violet, against a dark backdrop of salted/boozy notes, and am wonder if there are any other perfumes you've tried that evoke that imagery! does not have to share notes with doomed. i'm moreso referring to the contrast of electrifying, inhumanly beautiful energy, against muted dark notes.

Hi there! I’ve been thinking about ordering some samples from Pineward, but I wanted to hear some thoughts about them first! I’m new to perfumes and still trying to figure out what a lot of notes/ingredients smell like, so I thought I’d ask for a second opinion. I also know that Pineward is probably most famous for photorealistic forest scents - I think that is maybe not quite what I’m looking for, but I’d love to smell like forest with something else to balance it out. I’m super intrigued by Tome, and some others that caught my eye are Velvetine, Cotswold, Subalpine, Ponderosa, Coffee Tabac, Caravansary, and Eldritch. I would super appreciate anyone’s thoughts on any of these scents to help me narrow my sample order down!

I've lately become absolutely obsessed with this game and naturally my thoughts turned to perfume. For the unfamiliar, this is a cozy farming sim in the vein of Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon, that takes a lot of aesthetic inspiration from 80s/90s anime. For the cozy gamers among us: what scents do you like to wear when you're playing a farming sim? Does anyone have any recs for perfumes that match this aesthetic/world? And why is Celine the best wife?

Hello! Looking for a new hair gloss to replace BPAL's Peach Nectar and Vanilla Orchid HG. Once this one dried down, its mostly a floral vanilla, I'm not the biggest fan of florals, but my husband liked it on me. I found a couple Haus of Gloi that might be a good match, but I might be missing some:

Autumn Bouquet - Sunflowers, chrysanthemums and the warm butterscotch aroma of hypericum berries gathered together with musk, vanilla and sandalwood.

Long Winter's Nap - Flannel pajamas, cashmere blankets, sweet vanilla, tonka bean, oatmeal cookies and a glass of lavender infused milk.

First Blush (limited stock) - Tahitian vanilla bean, white tea, lavender and peach.

For Aphrodite - Sea foam, golden apples, pink roses, sprigs of freshly cut myrtle, glowing amber and sweet vanilla.

Orange Blossom & Buttercream

Rich buttercream frosting complimented by elegant orange blossoms.

I think there was also one that was peach and florals, but now I can't find it.

I recently bought a bunch of decants of Pierrot Perfumery scents, from Sucerie Decants!

Even if I liked only a few of these, please know these are explicitly my opinions and based off what kinds of fragrances I do or don’t like.
Please don’t feel discouraged from trying Pierrot’s stuff if a scent you were curious about in here has an iffy review!! This house is absolutely amazing and skilled at their craft, and I truly wish I discovered them earlier before their closing!

My favorites from this brand that I already own are Black Flame Candle, A Changeable Feast, and Person Suit (for some reference of fragrance families or blends I did like) 😁

❤️Neon Moon (Whiskey, Tobacco, Peppery Grasses, Patchouli, Leather Chaps, Saddle Soap, Clove Aftershave): This is absolutely magical to me… it’s spicy and clean, with a leather undertone. Clove afterhave is definitely there but it supports the base. I don’t get a strong whiskey note at all, as someone who’s a little wary of alcohol & leather notes in perfumery… so it’s beautifully blended into the fragrance. This is my favorite out of the entire batch, and I might upsize!! 10/10

❤️Leather Daddy (Black Leather, Frankincense & Myrrh, Pipe Tobacco, Spicy Vanilla): This is incredibly beautiful, but I wouldn’t personally wear it (well actually…. I MIGHT upsize on it too, or play around with the sample before I commit…)
This is NOT your average “leather jacket” scent. The frank&myrrh ground it with this incense-like accord… The tobacco gives it a soft edge, and makes the black leather less abrasive… The spicy vanilla adds a kick & underground sweetness. I just feel like the leather aspect is there as one thing, and the rest is backed up. WOWOWOOWWWW .. 10/10!!! but if you’re looking for a standard leather perfume that focuses explicitly on that aspect, I wouldn’t lean on this.

Love Crime (Dragon's Blood, Sea Salt, Cinnamon, Cardamom, and Patchouli): I actually liked this one at first. However, the more I smell it, it comes off as a bloodorange perfume for me… I am not a fan of citrus or orange scents at all. This is beautifully blended and I can’t tell the notes apart, but it just smells like bloodorange accord to me. 3.5/10

Size Queen (Stone Fruit Boozy Seltzer, Lemon Peel, Gummy Candy Thong Underwear, Apricot Lube, Pink Pearl Apple Flesh): The apricot is very prevalent, but I don’t get any kind of lemon peel at all. It actually smells exactly like Trident’s “Tropical Twist” gum. I like this perfume more than I thought I would, but it’s also not for me. 6/10

Chronically On-Line (Fresh Linen, Soapy Detergent, Orchid Flowers, Skin Musk, Breezey Ozone): This isn’t a traditional clean, breezy perfume at all. It actually reminds me of my first ever perfume in 5th grade… exactly like it! I can smell the orchid and detergent notes first. It’s floral and soapy smelling, and I really like it, but I wouldn’t want to smell exactly like my 10yo self. 💕 8/10

The Modern Prometheus (Parchment, Oud, Torchsmoke, and Soft Leather): Extremely smokey and cold-smelling. The leather, oud, and smoke come forward first. I also get a tiny bit of an alcoholic note, like whiskey or rum? This reminds me of a graveyard stone, with the smell of paper or wood burning in the background. 2/10

Mooncalf (Cedar Barnwood, Copal, Warm Straw, Milk, Pink Pepper): Warm straw, milk, and pink pepper came forward first. It’s a comforting milky scent, but there’s a sour undertone in there that resembles the tartness of strawberries or kiwi… It’s a nice scent, but not for me. 4/10

Dendrophilia (Mossy Bark, Cedarwood, Mahogany, Cardamom, Vetiver, Birch): Green and soapy. The mahogany and moss come through first. For me, this kinda smells like a nice soap bar you’d find in the retail store🤔 It also reminds me of laying down in a soft bed of clovers with fresh morning dew. 7/10

The Bug Collector (Wormwood, Amber, Floral Mosses, Freshly Overturned Stones, Soft Humus, Decaying Wood): Sharper and crisper than Dendrophilia. This one smells more like moss and plant stems to me, and the woody notes are a bit undetectable. 6/10

Ceci N’est Pas Une Parfum (Iso E Super) - This isn’t a traditional perfume blend, but rather a single aroma molecule used in perfumery to help diffuse, balance, and harmonize other notes. It can also enhance your natural scent and help your perfume project more effectively. The owner of Pierrot has also stated that it’s ideally used as a base layer, sprayed onto the skin before applying your actual perfume. On its own, it has a light, purely woody scent that can be difficult to detect on your own skin—yet surprisingly, it’s much more perceptible to others! 8/10

Sawdust & Diamonds (Cedarwood Chips, Jasmine, Milkthistle, Sea Salt, Beeswax and ISO E Super): Beeswax and something creamy?? I only get a hint of cedar, so the woody notes are likely used as support. This blend kind of just smelled like chemicals to me, and this one orange/pink substance my salon workers use for pedicure massages. It is actually a pretty nice scent, but it reminds me of the salon I work at🥲 5/10

Ginger Snapped (Ginger, Wolfsbane, Nutmeg, Incense, Blood, Warm Fur, Masala Chai, Film Chemicals, Angst) This one’s kinda yummy! Sliced ginger, nutmeg, and chai came first. I think the blood note adds a tiny bit of a sharp metallic addition, but it is not prevalent at all and is used as a supporting note. I personally did not get a chemically smell from this. It smells like microwaved gingersnap cookies :) 7/10

I’m looking for recommendations for realistic tea scents! I really like black, earl grey, chai or Thai tea scents. I normally go for warmer spiced perfumes and a lot of sandalwood/woody scents so if they have those notes even better

Not sure if anyone is familiar or playing the new Control game that came out by Remedy, Control Resonant. But I am loving the game and the intense, beautiful cosmic visuals of it. Was wondering if anyone had any perfume recommendations based on the game and its cosmic art design. This is really based on vibes and not me thinking of any specific notes, more trying to see what others have in mind.

I picked Darren Alan After the Rain because I love rain and petrichor scents, even though a bunch of friends told me to go for Hekate when I asked what to try from the house first.

After the Rain opens ozonic but with a green feeling, like being in a forest right after it rained. It is leafy and fresh, not dense crushed leaves, thick chlorophyll kind of greenness. The airy watery vibe stays smooth too. It doesn't turn screechy or harsh because of the ozonic note.

As it settles, it shifts into a green floral phase. It makes me think of wet stems, not just the petals. I’ve seen people mention honeysuckle in discussions around this scent, but I honestly don’t know what honeysuckle smells like. What I do get is something that reminds me of the lilacs I pick up in Nosferatu’s drydown. Airy, slightly sweet, stemmy lilacs.

The drydown stays consistent, a soft green floral that keeps a gentle misty after-rain feeling. I don’t get the soil mentioned in the notes list. It also doesn't have any patchouli like a lot of other rain scents. It just keeps smelling like slightly sweet, damp, green florals, and I really like that.

Performance has been great on me. This is not a loud scent, but it has presence. I put it on around 9.30 am, and I could still smell it on my skin at 9 pm, so that's a good 11.5 hours. It has a soft, quiet personal bubble that makes it feel more like a scent you live in than a scent that announces itself.

As the title says, I am desperately trying to find a decant of a discontinued Filigree and Smoke scent called Maggie's Last Party as a gift for a friend.

It was a very small, niche release and isn't a "wearable" scent... more like a protest in a bottle. With maybe a few exceptions, folks who bought it probably didn't run through the whole bottle. I've gone through all the secondary scent sites and have had no luck. I've also been in touch with the creator himself, and while he will be making scents once his new shop in the Netherlands is up and running ( https://www.threads.com/@emigre.nl), it will be awhile.

Can anyone recommend any leads to hunting this down?

Hello, Pierrot Perfumery is closing once all online stock is sold out. It is very sad as I love smaller companies and creators and their art. I recently got Mooncalf and love it, but better to love and lost than never loved at all.
