veg Air fryer receipe

I have almost no experience in cooking and i just got new Air fryer, Phillips 4.2L...

I tried McCain fries in it, I put it at 200 for 20 mins, i put little oil on fries... I opened out twice in between to shake them a bit... They came out crispy but all its moisture was drained, they tasted as if life's been squeezed out of them completely...

Next I tried McCain mini pizza samosa... I put it at 200 for 10 mins, edges got brown but it's center areas were whitish so I put for another 5 mins... It still gave same results... Tasted horrible like uncooked maida... I didn't put salt on these tho

Both times i set it on 200 for 2 mins before I put anything in it and i tossed frozen food directly as mentioned on package

Firstly, what am I doing wrong here?

Secondly, any easy air fryer receipes or value for money instant frozen food to cook in air fryer for a complete new beginner? I'm veg and I can eat eggs too

Thirdly, do I buy silicon moulds, parchment papers or any other accessories for it? Silicon brush?

experiment with smaller quantities for the first few days , every machine is different dont stick to the isntructions on packets, find your own sweet spot , for me 180or 185 degree for 15 minutes is the way to go for any frozen snack.

Yeah , for fries apply a little oil before tossing them in just a few drops and 185 for 15+ minutes depending on the airfryer

Don't over fill the airfryer. Get to know your machine.

With my machine I find it never takes as long as instructions say, usually its around a third if the time.

I didn't overfill... I filled 25-30% only

Pre heat it. And use 180-185. Also check in half the prescribed time, most frozen items are cooked in lesser time. For pizza pockets and such, pre heated air fryer with 3 or so minutes on 180 works for 6-7 pieces.

But even in so long time, it stayed uncooked maida

Did you preheat the air fryer? 200 for 3-4 min is good for preheating. Like someone else said, try a few first and get to know your device

I left it for 2 mins at 200 for preheat and yeah I put barely 25% capacity

It's basic one, there's no modes in it, just 2 knobs for temp and timer

Preheat always. Also 200 degrees is too high. It cooks the surface but leaves insides raw. Try a lower temp. I make regular samosas at 180 for 15 mins. Turn out good. Also try thawing a bit. Hot air alone can't penetrate inside if its icy cold. Fries are okay but samosas won't work frozen. Also for fries you completely dried it. Try lower temp and lesser time next time. Its a bit of experimentation till you crack it.

As everyone said, don't overfill, try different temperatures. Also, don't use silicon mats or anything under it because it blocks the airflow, the airfryer needs airflow to continue. You will have to wash the entire bucket.

Easy recipes are bread, pizza, chicken tandoori or kebabs, veggie roasts. If you are making chicken curry, you can cook the marinated chicken halfway until soft (usually 10-12mins at 180), make the curry separately in a pan and simply add the chicken, saves me so much time.
