I just took my first test for Discrete Math, and I absolutely bombed it despite studying for weeks. Can anyone who’s taken this class share their experience and any tips?

The combinatorics part is killing me. I find the content difficult enough as it is, but the professor’s questions are on a completely different level. They’re so original and confusing, and honestly, the practice problems felt like a different breed compared to what was actually on the midterm. I’m a lot more comfortable with proofs, which is the next part of the course, but after doing so badly on this first test, I’m genuinely worried about whether I can even pass with a C.

I’ve honestly been contemplating withdrawing and trying to e-permit the course somewhere else(but honestly I don't want to withdraw). I don’t know if I’m overreacting or if I should seriously consider it, so I’d appreciate hearing what you guys think. Has anyone been in a similar situation and managed to turn things around?

For context, I’ve already taken Calc 1–3 and Linear Algebra, so I’m not completely new to math courses.

I need an easy online elective

i’ve taken all the required cs major math courses and saw that i could take one more to get a minor in mathematics.

would advanced symbolic logic/mathematical logic (multiple course codes on schedule builder but im p sure they’re all the same class) fulfill both math minor and cs elective requirements? my prof says yes but degreeworks is making me confused.

hypothetically, is a logic minor something worth considering? i’m looking at the requirements page and it looks like the logic and cs electives overlap.

Hello guys and gals,

We’re Brian and Mike and we teach general and organic chemistry. We’ve done so for a total combined time of 47 years! Overwhelmed by general or organic chemistry? Assignments and tests creeping up on you and feeling like you’re in hot water? Or maybe you’re doing well and need that 95%? Whatever your struggle with chemistry may be, we’re here to make sure you succeed.

Why work with us?

- Every tutor knows the subject, but not every tutor knows how to transfer that knowledge to a student. We do.

- We tutor chemistry full time; it’s not a hobby or side-gig. When you book with us, you’ll be working with Brian for general chemistry and Mike for organic chemistry. This is not an agency and you won’t be matched with random tutors each time.

- You’ll be learning problem solving through chemistry, which you can apply to many other subjects.

- Your learning will be customized to your specific needs.

Before booking a lesson, let’s chat about your needs, our teaching styles, and what you can expect, to see if we’d be a good fit together.

Thank you for your time and we look forward to working with you!

Yo! Is everyone anonymous here? Just downloaded Reddit. Lmk.

Hi, everyone.

I completed 26 credit with 4.0 gpa at LAGCC now transferring to hunter for the spring. Just want to know, can I get all intro pre med classes and all upper level classes at there since I did not take science courses at LAGCC.

Considering that worse timing and rigor of the classes does not matter to me, as long as my graduation is not delay; cuz I did not get the classes for semester.

I heard a lot of people saying: people do not get classes at hunter, and that cuz graduation delay.

I want to hear the TRUTH.

I just took my midterm exam and i swear i did so bad. i’m a pre nursing student, i already had stats and psych credits so i had a open slot for another class and i chose econ cause polisci and anthropology was full, but, i literally think i failed my midterm and we only have three exams. Should i withdraw to protect my gpa? Cause im also not sure if it will have an impact on my nursing application and im not trying to test whether it does or not cause i know i need at least 30 credits by the end of my freshman year… what do i do???

What profs teach psych 210 (child development)? I plan on taking it next semester and it just says “staff” on schedule builder.

Has anyone taken these classes w these profs? How was it?

Gonna have a stacked spring semester (psych 248, anthp 101, engl 307, wgs 100). R there any easy courses with little to no papers and essays I could take to max out my credits or should I just keep my schedule as is??

I've been working on my application for the adolescent social studies education MA, hoping to submit by the deadline tomorrow. The only issue is my CV, which is really weak. I'm in my mid-30s and my only education experience is substitute teaching per diem with the NYC DOE, which I've done for the last four years. Besides that, I have no prior education experience nor any relevant accolades or academic background. My undergrad major was history.

I can't help but feel my CV is just too barren to do anything but hurt me here, but I also don't know how much weight a resume really carries compared to the other application requirements.

We literally do nothing in class I dont wanna go anymore but the prof takes attendance everyday. I was checking the syllabus and the grade breakdown and attendance isnt in it. Although underneath it says,

"Attendance is required and will be taken at every class. Your instructor may use multiple ways to help you learn the material. If you are not going to be able to attend on a particular day, notify your instructor ahead of time"

But then when you look further down it says,

"Attendance will be taken each class day. It doesn't count for you or against you but shows a certain commitment to the course and respect for your teacher. Additionally, your instructor can see, online, how much work you have done on a particular day"

Soooo im wondering if i even have to go if attendance isnt even part of the grade breakdown...

Hi! I'm planning to take FILM 101 during Winter 2027 and I'm choosing between Brian Maston, Claudia Calhoun, and Mariano Wainsztein.

If you've taken FILM 101 with any of them, could you share your experience?

Anybody commuting using the NJT Secaucus to Penn Station? Is Penn station still being limited in runs? I took the bus to 42 just to try it and it sucked.

Hey everyone,

I have class at Roosevelt House and need a quiet spot to pray. Does anyone know if there’s a designated prayer room or quiet space in the building? If not, who should I contact to ask about this?
