What do you do to get rid of the gun?

I don't necessarily get rid of it. I take the screenshot as I am in the middle of switching weapons. Slower handling weapons to switch between will give you more time to take the shot before the weapons are back in frame. This also allows me to take shots midair.
Another method (although less opportunistic) is to have an emote that doesn't glow, and press yourself against a wall then use the emote. This will "get rid of it" so long as you remain emoting.
Lastly if you AFK long enough, your weapon will be 'lowered' and if you face upwards, the weapon will be off screen. I don't do this method as it's a long time to wait (10mins?).
