HoMM7 HOMM 7, why do you love it?

Prelude: I am a great fan of heroes, that play from 1 to 6 for a minimum of 100 hours each except 1 and 2 because when I was young 3 heroes 3 was grandfather's favorite game.

So, what is my point - I played every part of this game and loved heroes 4, while all communities hate it, I love heroes 6, while all communities hate it, but heroes 7 was so disgusting that I refunded it.

Q: Now I want to understand why you love this game? Is it about mechanics? Or is it about units or level design? I really can't understand because when I see never moving lips I just rage quite from the game after 10-20 minutes of play and then refund it. I don't like "backhits" either!

So tell me why?

P.s.: Im not here to blame you or tell you a wrong, so you can answer me "actually I like backhits", and I could ask you some questions like "are you really like it?", but please tell me why. I want to know the pros of this game that I missed. Peace.

HoMM7 Playing HoMaM7, at first I thought it was so janky because it was supposed to be a mobile game they just eventually ported to PC, but then I saw it was released in 2015. What happened?

Look, I'm not here to shit on the dev's. I've never been a rabid fan but I've played every HoMaM. Grew up with hotseating 2 and 3. At 5 I felt the magic started getting lost so I stopt following it.

Barely remember 6 and I didn't even know 7 existed until a week ago... I'm beginning to understand why.

What happened? Why is it so... Subpar? Like, no hate, but it feels like a beta if even that. Also holy shit the bugs, I've community-patched it and it still keeps fucking up the audio and graphics, ingame market and AI, etc.

How is the graphics, immersion and atmosphere (as well as visual clarity, I constantly miss resources even when I'm spamming ALT to highlight them) all worse than even 5? I recall at least the towns were amazing in 5 and 6, here they're a static picture and they look more flat than 3.

The skilltree is some of the worst balanced malarky I've seen. You have gamebreaking shit like magic, the exponential growth of the "Wisdom" skill is possible the most overall gamebreaking thing in any HOM. For those who don't know, it gives 4+ spellpower, and 4+ for every other school of magic that also picks it... Which mean's 12 total if you pick a second, and 24(!) if you pick all three. Whereas other skills give a whooping 2+ of defence or offence, sometimes even 4. And this isn't some lategame HOM3 spellcasting, this is accessable at lvl12, second mission.

Pardon the rant, just had to vent my thoughts a bit. Not even upset, I had no real expectations and got it for free.

Honestly as time goes by HOM4 that I kind of disliked at the time has really grown on me because its stories were the best (tho a bit heavy on text) out of any HOM. I really hope they have some good writing in the new prequal.

There are moments where there's some beauty and you feel a tad of that HOM magic. But, honestly, they're like holes in a clouded sky where once it passes you just feel the cold even worse.

HoMM7 Heavy Alchemy [OC]. Changing the classic rare resources in HoMM7 for something sounding either like Heavy Metal bands or substances' slang terms was an interesting choice, but even after 100h+ of playing the game, I still occasionally confused "these crystals" for "those crystals".

HoMM7 HoMM7 localization bug?

Is there any way to access the campaign cutscenes? I'm looking for one specific cutscene in the Academy chapter. When playing in Polish and finishing the second mission (the one where you fight Jadwa), the end cutscene plays in... a different language (I think it's Czech). I'm really curious if there's no Polish dubbing for it at all, or if it's just a broken script? Or would anyone be so kind as to check this?

HoMM7 homm8 announcement next year?

in the uplay launcher there are news that about an upcoming playtest for a next homm game, judging by the questionnaire some might think that this is gonna be a successor to homm7 which will be developed by ubisoft düsseldorf (developers of the last settlers game).
What do you think about this? some years ago, i certainly would have not expected that there are currently 2 homm games simultanously in development

HoMM7 Homm 7 why does the game look so ugly?

I only played Heroes of Might and Magic 5 when I was a kid, and I really liked the game.

And yesterday I decided to buy HoMM7 and played it for a couple of hours, and I think the game looks very ugly. Every creature and everything looks kind of brownish or greyish. Also, I feel like the animations, like the attack animations of creatures or the animations when they get attacked kind of suck.

Most creatures look like ratched animals or homeless people to me.

The sound effects are lackluster too. The animations when the hero casts a spell are hideous and look like I am playing a game from 1999 on a nintendo. I did not like the music of the game either.

Overall, I feel like this game has 0 atmosphere or soul, which is a shame because I wanted to like it.

For me gameplay wise it is ok so far, but Am I the only one turned off by the visuals + sounds?

HoMM7 H7 beated

I've been finishing it for a week now, but I haven't found the time to write about it yet.
I have to say I'm a bit torn about this chapter. I had low expectations for it, since, along with H6, it's the one I hear mentioned the least, and especially since H6 disappointed me a bit.

But I have to say that its blend of H6 and H5 gameplay impressed me. I have to say that on paper, everything works: the units, the towns, the skills, the adventure map, the spells, but... it lacks the spark.

I've only played the campaign, so that's all I'm referring to. I can't really pinpoint what's wrong, but as I was saying, something intangible is missing, a "spark." Maybe it's the way the maps were designed, I don't know.

As I was saying, I really appreciated everything else: the music is always beautiful, the Fortress is one of the most beautiful town screens in the series, and the two campaigns recovered from H4 were truly an unexpected surprise!

Among the minor negatives, I'd mention the artifacts (slots, collections) and the classes. It seems superfluous to have so many of them while still using the Blood and Tear system (or rather, not using it at all). To make the skill wheel more diverse, perhaps I would have included the option to choose skills.

I'm really happy to have played the entire series. I appreciate the world of Ashan more and more, and I'm sorry I was late to the party.

Well, now I can go read and understand those posts about unit rankings! Anyone have the links?

HoMM7 How is HoMM6&7?

I played HoMM3 and 2 for several years when i was younger, spend a decent amount of hours in HoMM4 and had a break after a slightly disapointed adventure into HoMM5.

Would like to try either 6 or 7. Any recommendations?

HoMM7 Unpopular opinion – Heroes 7

Hi everyone,

Like many of you, I played Heroes as a kid, and for me it’s a treasure I would take with me to a deserted island as the one and only game.
I played Heroes 4 mainly because of its soundtrack – the best of them all – but the gameplay felt weaker compared to Heroes 3.

Heroes 5 was one of my favorites, but I still often went back to Heroes 3.
I pretty much skipped Heroes 6 and only know it because I played its MTG-style card game.

About four years ago, I came across Heroes 7. From all the reviews I had read, I thought, it can’t possibly be that bad. After playing my first game, I said to myself, “Wow, this is actually fantastic.” It had everything from Heroes 3 but with better combat, and the soundtrack was beautiful as well. I thought, finally, I’ve found a worthy successor to Heroes 3, which I’ve played to exhaustion – even with mods.

Then I discovered the Heroes 7.5 mod, and for me, it turned the game into the best Heroes experience ever. The tactical depth in combat is incredible, the number of factions is huge, and it genuinely feels like playing the old Heroes 3 – just better, prettier, and more modern.

So yes, I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I truly believe Heroes 7.5 can stand alongside Heroes 3, even with mods.
It’s a shame Heroes 7 didn’t get more attention, because it deserves its place on the podium of turn-based strategy games.

I’m looking forward to the older era. It looks promising, so we’ll see.

HoMM7 How to enjoy H7?

I mean, the audiovisuals are beyond approach, they actively me not want to play the game and the campaign scenarios are also more often than not not very fun. I do like the general premise and would like to finish this game, but ...

... it's not very good. It's more bad actually.

Open to all suggestions. Except 7.5, I don't really want that. I already have the Community Patch(which I have next to no idea whether it is working - how to check?).

HoMM7 Best way to play HoMM 6 and 7?

I have Heroes 6 and 7 on DVD, but they require me to make create an account to somewhere and it's never worked since... like 10+ years ago...

Should I take a different approach?

HoMM7 If Inferno was in Heroes 7 who would tell its stories?

If I remember correctly, during the development of Homm 7, there was a vote on which factions to add. Inferno competed with Dungeon, and ultimately Dungeon was added instead of Inferno. I also remember once watching an interview with the creators of Homm 7, and they said they had already written a plot for the Inferno campaign (story). It was supposed to be about a succubus and an incubus who fell in love and ended up in Scheog, with the story's main theme being the price of freedom. But that's all I could find out.

If Inferno won the vote, who do you think would tell Inferno's stories instead of Jorgen and sit on Ivan's council?

Barring some new invented character, the only candidates I can think of are Kirill or Sarah, but that would require explaining the elephant in the room: how they're even able to be in Ashan without an eclipse. (Although Agrael and Biara could be without an eclipse. I still don't really understand how that works.)

Maybe Daeva as a succubus working for Kirill (I don't know her storyline in Might & Magic: Heroes Online).

HoMM7 Any tips on H7?

I recently started H7, I'm on the second mission of Haven, I notice that it's a mix between H5 and H6 and so far it's making a good impression on me.

Is there anything I should know about such as known bugs or glitches, recommended mods?

Thanks.

Even with every single Magic Skill skilled on a hero with fire magic mastery, Armageddon doesn't show up as an option during a fight. Am I doing something wrong?

HoMM7 Sylvan Campaign 2

Can anyone help? This map is beyond ridiculous. You start with next to nothing and go against giga OP enemies. Was this map screwed by a patch or something? For one, in every guide it mentions 20 Sea Elf stacks joining you(in game, it is 7). And various other discrepancies.

Not only that, but it's a COMPLETE RNG fest! Why? Because you might play on Heroic and have an EASIER time than on EASY. Because enemies didn't decide to rush you etc. lol

Tbh? This Hero spam also needs to be toned down. You should be able to hire 1 or 2 heroes / week. Being able to hire like 4+ is crazy and stupid.

(I also think Sylvan is beyond weak, but that is neither here nor there)

HoMM7 VII Combat Sounds

I've tried several times to get into VII, but I always fail to do so because the combat sounds are so poorly done. It sounds like there's no impact sound on most/any of the attacks; like a sword just continues to whoosh through air even when making contact.

It really feels like it's a bug, or some issue in the settings. I've looked around to see if this is the case but no one seems to ever talk about it, which makes me wonder if it's just me or if it just doesn't bother people.

Does anyone have any insight into this?

HoMM7 Sylvan - weak?

How do you play this faction? Everything is paper thin and, no, you do not have damage to counteract this weakness(you are not Dungeon or Stronghold). Sure, there is plenty of Defense to go around, but the health is criminally low. Won't even comment on the fact that there are TWO pixie type creatures(just...why? You could replace Dryad with anything, roll that +D onto a Deer{basic one is really bland} and call it a day)! And Hunters without max range? Their damage is also lacking. Oh, oh! How about War Dancer(T5 btw) "health".

I just have next to no idea how to "pilot" these. They seem to want some kind of synergy, but ... /shrug.

HoMM7 Heroes of might and magic 7.5

Hey all. I know lots of players do not play this game, but I really like it and was wondering if there are any guides to the games different "bosses" that have 50k health and kinda feels like gimmic bosses. If anybody could point out where I could find guides on gameplay, artefacts, tips, etc etc.

Also do you know where I can download more maps?

Best wishes

HoMM7 HoMM7 Campaign problem

Hey ho
Maybe someone here is able to help me

I just "finished" all campaigns on hardmode in HoMM7
BUT I ayways do all missions possbile and I think there is a problem in the final mission" the dream of what could be"
Within this mission is a sidequest called "Raven Wings" in the lower right corner of the map.
The only problem is, a seal of Arkath and a seal of eldrath are blocking the way. The Eldrath shrine to bypass the Eldrath seal was right at the start
BUT the Arkath shrine... the only one there seems to be BEHIND the seal...
So... have to got to rhe shrine to break the seal, which I cannot do, cuz the seal is blocking my way to the shrine...
Do I miss something? Is this a bug? I dont get
None guide could help me so far
